The royal family

What now for M&H

I find the whole family and royal family (The Firm) aspect of Megxit very interesting.

Just wondering what now for M&H? Will they continue on with the strategy of talking and writing about the royal family or will things now change? I think the half in half out strategy on their terms would have worked for M&H but I think the RF were right to knock it on the head, it would never have worked for the RF, Harry was ready to go and Meghan was never going to just slot in with the system.

Just looking at Harry, I think the guy really needs the whole circus of fighting with the RF in public to stop, for his own mental health. He obviously has issues that he needs to come to terms with, he really needs to do this in private but this is at odds with how they need to make money now. I really fear for him the person.

If they keep going with the fighting then I think that's it for them and the RF. If they are to reconcile with the RF, how then do they make a living? I would imagine QE has left quite a provision for Harry in her will so perhaps the money making aspect will be less of a priority. I could see Charles being more open to a reconciliation but not sure about William.

Not trying to start a thread to bash anyone, just interested in other opinions.

Queen died and it didn't take the papers five minutes to make it about Meghan. OBSESSED

I think that's over-egging it. There have been pages and pages about the Queen, about the new King, about the ancient ceremonies and about the crowds. Some about the new Prince and Princess of Wales, then all the rest. H&M got rather more coverage yesterday when they joined the Wales' walkabout, and of course Scobie came across as an utter fool when he stuck his foot in it about their travel plans (or lack thereof).

I think the idea that there's an obsession, when there's as much coverage of tractors and riders, and just as many questions about the future of the corgis, is somewhat hyperbolic

I was shocked by Kate's body language and the way she made no effort to relate to Meghan when they got out of the car in Windsor prior to looking at the flowers left by the public .

Meghan looked completely lost .I thought it very unbecoming behaviour on Kate's part .
William addressed some comments to Meghan ,there was nothing from Kate .

pilates · 11/09/2022 21:39

I hope they go back to America and do some reflecting.

Meh fair enough i think. Both Harry and meghan have said some really nasty things about the royal family, and about her, so I don't think she has to act any sort of way around her.

If someone had ( allegedly) been horrible to my child , I wouldn’t give them the time of day cameras or no cameras

KentuckyDerbyandJoan · 11/09/2022 21:45

Hopefully they’ll apologise to the Royal Family and bugger off back to America permanently.

onlylarkin · 11/09/2022 21:48

Maybe someone here who knows every intention and thought can call them and ask them?

Meanderings · 11/09/2022 21:50

You'll continue to be obsessed and make threads about them on Mumsnet.

Meghan will continue releasing her podcast episodes on Spotify. Heart of Invictus series with Netflix before the year is over. Harry may release his podcast too.

So why did William give the time of day to someone who (allegedly) had been horrible to his child. Or wish said woman happy birthday on their social media.

Greengianttrees · 11/09/2022 21:55

I wrote some of my thoughts in another thread that got deleted.

one of the alleged benefits of the Rf is the soft power they exercise internationally. Especially maintaining a commonwealth.

in the past it might have worked by waving to the natives and doing bongo dances with them or whatever. But it out of touch and cringeworthy now.

other countries are becoming more influential. India recently displaced UK as the 5th largest economy.

and China the second largest economy in the world has been increasing its influence in Africa.

the RF desperately need to do something to keep the Commonwealth together and UK relevant to countries that historically had ties with us.

I think H&M could have been an asset and their leaving is a blow to the RF.

and it would be to the Rf advantage to have H and especially M on board now. That’s why I think Charles is trying to turn things around.

worriedatthistime · 11/09/2022 21:55

They could really be useful and have a part to play

Penguinsaregreat · 11/09/2022 21:57

Until now I had no idea what Mehgan’s podcasts were about. Looked it up and they do sound interesting.
I think H & M will continue with what they have been doing.

The British tabloids and Mumsnetters will continue to completely and utterly fixate on Meghan and write 50 articles/threads a week about her regardless of what she says or does or doesn't say or do.

But the tabloids wouldn't if they didn't bite back. The British Press is vicious but they are not the first people to get hateful Press. Margaret, Fergie, Camilla, Edward, Sophie, the York girls. Diana didn't always get great Press & the snobbery directed at Catherine & her family was horrible too. But they didn't bite back & stoke it. And there is a myth it's only Meghan & that's not true.

No you are reading it wrong IMO. And shocked is a tad over dramatic, did you also shake?

Meghan is the most dominant out of the 4 of them, she courts the limelight and is not behaving according to royal protocol, a loose canon.

Kate walked with big strides to ensure Meghan didn't walk in front of her or draw attention in a way that wouldn't have suited protocol. Kate is very much senior to Meghan and Meghan is competing with her.

I personally believe that Kate has been extremely stressed and anxious about the whole situation with Meghan and harry. Kate didn't act with hostility, she acted insecure trying to assert herself and pull rank.

Nah, it's an obsession and it's deranged.

There is not a single person that has got this deranged level of coverage. Not a single one.

@peridito it wasn't just kate she got the cold shoulder from yesterday! I was actually there at the long walk and there was an audible groan from the side that got H&M rather than W&K. There were also quite a few who refused to shake her hand or talk to her. It was a very lukewarm reception and i she looked extremely nervous.

It was Kate that meghan claimed was nasty to her it was also Kate that seemed the most upset in public since the queen's death she just isn't experienced enough to hide her feelings William was unusually tactile with her being reassuring I don't think she was being cold I think she is upset

bringarosie · 11/09/2022 22:16

I think Charles would welcome them back.
Maybe an opportunity for a reset. He's in his 70s and all the commonwealth nations will be reevaluating their relationship with Britain. They need to go on a charm offensive and M&H would be perfect.

I thought yesterday at Windsor that Kate was trying to give William and Harry an opportunity to have a quick word but then Meghan was clearly uncomfortable so was staying close to Harry. But who know? Maybe Kate was raging with William for inviting them along.

This sounds completely made up though.
