Feeling sorry for the Duchess of Sussex

It must be so surreal for her to be caught in everything that is happening at the moment. I know H&M are controversial to say the least but they came here to do a feel good tour and are now caught up in everything that's going on. If I were Meghan, I'd travel back to the US to be with my dc and leave Harry with trusted family and aids. It was odd that the Sussexes said they'd both travel to Balmoral and the media now say that King Charles said that Meghan wouldn't be welcome. I can understand why as only close family attendee's Balmoral.

To sum it up, I feel sorry for both Harry and Meghan, I think they are out of their depth. Their autobiography will be interesting.

W&K are better than me. I'd have slapped both their faces and told them to f'off back to their 'private life' and their grubby media millions.

Festoonlights · 10/09/2022 17:25

They are greeting the public

maiafawnly · 10/09/2022 17:25

Regardless of the opinion of her, him, them, the RF in general, its lovely the two brothers are doing this together

MissMarpleRocks · 10/09/2022 17:26

They arrived together & are interacting so hopefully a reconciliation of sorts. Families eh?

Festoonlights · 10/09/2022 17:27

I haven’t seen them speak but one can only hope this changes something positive

Mummyoflittledragon · 10/09/2022 17:27

I hope the crowd are telling Harry to let bye gones be bye gones. It’s what his grandma wanted.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/09/2022 17:27

Not the warmest of interactions, I must say. Body language is speaking volumes.

I think everyone is better than you really.

A little bit like Princess Diana, she wasn't aware of the reality of the responsibilities she would have. Basically, she was naiive.

I think she was naive in that she thought she would be the absolute centre of attention as a fairytale princess - 'what Meghan wants Meghan gets' etc. When she realised it was an actual job and she had to defer to higher ranking royals she couldn't handle it.

She confused ‘Hollywood celeb’ with ‘royalty’. Inspirational quotes, couture outfits and awards ceremonies go down well in movie star A-listers, but like a cup of cold sick as far as royalty is concerned. They’re not supposed to look like they’re having fun - they’re more like politicians (before Johnson), supposed to be uncomplaining and professional as they carry out their slightly dull engagements.

All this guff about her ‘modernising’ the monarchy is shockingly naive. Royalty relies on tradition and outmoded practices - its a bit like ‘modernising’ a stately home, it cannot be done without defeating the point of it in the first place.

It’s a shame as had she just managed to go through the motions and toe the line, she would’ve been rewarded with an incredibly comfortable lifestyle, a choice of charitable areas to work in and an opportunity to make a difference in the world (which is what she wants apparently).

She and Harry will lose their A-list friend the more they slag the monarchy off. Elton, the Beckhams etc all love a royal wedding invitation and a title. They know if they fraternise with Meghan and Harry they can kiss goodbye to any royal favour, particularly when William takes over.

William, Kate, Harry and Meghan together at Windsor inspecting floral tributes.

Good.

😂 Seriously? You think he’s going to take advice from Debbie and Keith in the crowd.

Festoonlights · 10/09/2022 17:29

I believe in forgiveness and miracles

TBH I think there's been a bit too much happened for it all to be resolved that easily.

Presenters are talking about reconciliation

ancientgran · 10/09/2022 17:30

That will get the racist haters frothing no doubt!

No I mean telling him it is lovely to see the brothers reconciled.

Nonsensical.

cushioncovers · 10/09/2022 17:31

Meghan and harry have absolutely no one else to blame for any awkwardness they feel but themselves. Their marriage will end in divorce eventually and then she will spend years earning money from talking about it. It's a shambles imo. Sad really.

Festoonlights · 10/09/2022 17:31

I think granny had her hand in this

Bookworm777 · 10/09/2022 17:31

And I love Omid Scobie had no idea!
