It feels like we're being slowly prepared for her passing away. I feel unexpectedly tearful.

Horsebox? Why?

It was full of horses, I would assume for the procession etc. that will happen? Carrying her body to Holyrood perhaps? I doubt they just chose this afternoon to move some horses about

fucap · 08/09/2022 16:19

What is the significance of the horse box??

GhostFromTheOtherSide · 08/09/2022 16:20

If people just report the anti m and h posts rather than quoting them they will be deleted.

Ann’s children weren’t on the plane either so Harry and Meggan’s absence wasn’t noted as significant.

GhostFromTheOtherSide · 08/09/2022 16:11

Thing is, how long can the bbc drag out this news bulletin?

They are clearly expecting some news soon but it could take significant time to happen just because it often does.

Now that they’ve seen the planes what now?

They'll keep waffling. What's the alternative?

ancientgran · 08/09/2022 16:21

Roussette · 08/09/2022 16:18

Could you not give it a rest? Just once?
It shows little respect to the family, just harping on about M&H

I agree, going on about how he's the favourite or knocking them isn't really appropriate. There is a whole family there and this is about the Queen.

BayandBlonde · 08/09/2022 16:21

That 'horse box' was actually a cattle trailer, more than capable of carrying small horses but far too small for procession horses that someone just suggested.

I wouldn't put my horses in a cattle trailer I would be very surprised if her grooms travel horses like that

I think she'll be gone by February.

Without being too ghoulish about it - I think it's more imminent than that. The announcement just now seemed more like a pre-warning to soften the blow in the next few days to me. Maybe/hopefully I'm wrong.

I've just come home from work and seen the news.

Sadly that's how I translated it.

She's 96. She's had a good life but one filled with hardship at the same time (I know that's controversial but money doesn't buy you happiness).

She's lost the one person who kept her going through the years. Sad

Where are M&H? Not on the royal plane?

No, nor were Zara, Peter, Louise or James the Queens other grandchildren

mateysmum · 08/09/2022 16:22

In terms of the people we think are there, obviously her children and their spouses are there as you would expect. Also William because he has a key constitutional role. He will become the heir apparent and Prince of Wales.
I don't think any of the other grandchildren are there - unless anybody knows differently.

I loved your post about how you wanted to go. It made me think of my dear old mum 💞

antelopevalley · 08/09/2022 16:23

She has had no more hardship than anyone has. Dealing with bereavement is a natural part of life. Unless you die very young, it affects everyone.

SleepingStandingUp · 08/09/2022 16:11

If they've come over from Germany they prob wouldn't go to meet the others first.

They’ve been in the UK since yesterday

Or Beatrice and Eugenie

fucap · 08/09/2022 16:24

They don't shove all the family members on the one plane in case something happens. So they wouldn't put William, Edward, Sophie, Meghan, Harry and whoever else on the one plane. Harry and Meghan will be travelling separately.

People tend to be horrified if I say it but honestly I don't want an audience. I hope your mum got everything she wanted.

It was reported the Sussexes were going tho, whereas there's been no word from the others. Zara like Kate probably wants to be with the kids, who are old enough to understand. Probably similar for Peter. Eugene and Beatrice both have young babies they probably don't want to / can't leave. James is just a kid and Louise is probably big sistering him with whomever they're staying with. Harry is over here unusually, has barely seen the Queen and hasn't got the kids. It makes sense for him to go.

CaptainBarbosa · 08/09/2022 16:26

Whatever anyone's opinion on H and M, it shouldn't play a part right now surely?

The fact is Harry's grandmother is passing away and he is a human being after all and if his support is his wife at this time, so be it. It's a sad time for him.

Gosh we've all had family funerals where the "black sheep" of the family have been in the funeral cars, or present, it's just accepted and that's that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

superplumb · 08/09/2022 16:26

I cant help feeling that sadly she has already passed. Such a shame. I'm not a royal fan but I respect the queen.

TheSpottedZebra · 08/09/2022 16:26

It is just obsequious filling now, isn't it?

AND yet I can't turn off.

There is a fleet of helicopters waiting on the ground at Aberdeen.

Nothing unusual in that, it’s Thursday, crew change day for many of the Oil and Gas rigs in the North Sea.

Yeah it's like a really busy helicopter pad

It was all pretty awful actually, the big C, there was always one of us with her until my brother popped to the loo, and that's the moment she chose. We laugh about it now, it was a very long time ago.

GaffNest · 08/09/2022 16:28

Good grief

Her 15th PM Liz Truss born in 1975
Her 1st PM Winston Churchill born in 1874

She covers more than a century.

Exactly and she has played a pivotal role in his younger years . He will be gutted
