It feels like we're being slowly prepared for her passing away. I feel unexpectedly tearful.

There were a couple of private jets that arrived from Brize Norton around an hour ago - I had assumed one was William's.

2MinuteRice · 08/09/2022 15:45

The Met police have been informed that she is expected to pass away in the next 48 hours

The children started their new school today. I imagine her priority is keeping some normality for them.

As long as William is there, that is enough for now. It's possible she will travel up after she has met the children home from their first day at their new school.

Norugratsatall · 08/09/2022 15:46

@Pyri I thought it was the day after that the new monarch made the announcement? I could be wrong though.

There is a fleet of helicopters waiting on the ground at Aberdeen.

There are always helicopters at Aberdeen to take people to/from the rigs. They have just pointed out that there is activity on the ground which is normal activity for the area and not to be constrewed as anything else.

How do you know that?

Like all those military types (so called) who knew Prince Philip was dead weeks before he died and announced it on here.

sqirrelfriends · 08/09/2022 15:47

As a person, I’m sure she’s lovely and it’s always sad when anyone passes. However I hope this is the beginning of the end for the Monarchy.

mateysmum · 08/09/2022 15:50

GhostFromTheOtherSide

OK thanks

What a maudlin thread. Confused

Invisiblewoman75 · 08/09/2022 15:51

This is really depressing speculation.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 08/09/2022 15:51

Nobody knows anything for sure. So stop the ghastly morbid speculating!

GhostFromTheOtherSide · 08/09/2022 15:52

Oh these threads are always full of people saying that “x has been told that it’s going to happen in y time.” Or who has a cousin whose friend’s cousin’s dh is in the secret service and knows all.

In fact while I think it’s safe to say that this is serious this time, the queen has been killed off on mn on numerous occasions over the past year. Every time someone mentions the queen someone comes on to say that the plan is in place for the weekend, and then someone else comes on to say she’s already dead.

If she actually had died it would have leaked by now. Media and social media is such that it wouldn’t be able to be kept quiet.

Loobyloo68 · 08/09/2022 15:52

Such a shame, 96 or not, she has been Queen all of my life. I'm sad to hear the news. 😞

Why isn't Kate going

It's their kids' first day at a new school.

Sparklingbrook · 08/09/2022 15:52

The amateur sleuthing on this thread is quite impressive.

It isn't. It won't be.

HTH.

My dad did this with a difference, my parents had seven gc, each gc was favourite on a particular day of the week. Sarah on Sunday, Mimi on Monday etc. it worked well until my two came along taking the gc count up to nine.

Brilliant way to do it. Now if you'd made an effort and had another three they could have had a month each.

I thought she would stay at home for the children as someone will have to tell them and that should really be a parent. If Kate was in Scotland, the children can’t go to school tomorrow as someone else would tell them. If any normality is to be in place for them, Kate would need to be at home for them.

Lol

Quite normal for the BBC to suspend all its programs yes!

'Impressive' is not the word I would use! Hmm

Go now just in case? But I doubt shops will shut whatever happens.

They may not close, but there will be a more somber atmosphere with no muzak etc.

urgen · 08/09/2022 15:53

I feel tearful too. What is it with people who have to have a dig? State why should we care etc etc. Well why should we care about anything we see and hear if we dont actually know the people concerned.

And as for those who go on and on about the cost and if only we had a republic... well - President Blair sounded good didnt it? They bring in huge amount of tourism into the UK. I have just come back from the US. They are in SUCH a mess. New York was dirty, homeless people and clearly those with MH issues being allowed to wander around with people stepping over them.

The only thing I dont like is the Markle and Harry show. Can they just keep a low profile. It really isnt about them. I spoke to a couple of people whilst away and they are embarrassed re Markle's behaviour.

Youaremysunshine14 · 08/09/2022 15:54

PP moaning the thread is maudlin – how do you expect people to be? Confident of her full recovery? Talking about how she'll be back at the gates of Buck Palace any day soon?

She's a 96-year-old woman who has been in declining health for the past year. No one's wishing her dead, but to suggest any thread about this should be upbeat is a bit ridiculous.

Waitrose never has any muzak anyway.
