young people undertake proper apprenticeships funded via whatever Royal fundraising efforts/trust and as part of their training work on restoring buildings for charitable/community use (there are so many wonderful places going to rack and ruin)

Didn't Prince Charles already do something like that at Dumfries House?

Are we any further forward establishing who called innocent children the n word ? For me that’s the most serious allegation.

It’s a lie. If the media said that it would have been all over Twitter and the Oprah show, jobs would have been lost and heads would have rolled.

SilverLiningPlaybook · 31/08/2022 23:12

Why do none of the interviewers question her and ask her to explain who said these things she claims and when? She chucks mud around and makes veiled threats, but no one pulls her up on any of it.

It looks like he did! Grin (Sorry Charles, didn't intentionally plagiarise you) From what I've just quickly read it seems successful and something similar expanded and on TV with H&M I reckon could have worked. I think it would have been more meaningful than these podcasts, anyway.

StartupRepair · 31/08/2022 23:26

They had such a strong platform inside the royal family. Now Meghan is being increasingly exposed as self aggrandising, tone deaf and loose with the truth. Hard to move past that.

I talked to my doctor today about a niggling pain . I had no idea I was being racist . And he didn’t seem to have an issue and also used the term.

You weren't being racist. It's a perfectly normal word to use and just simply using it in context is in no way racist. When it's used by certain journalists however in critical articles about MM, it almost certainly is a very thinly veiled racist slur.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 01/09/2022 00:01

She was never a Hollywood Star. A Hollywood star is someone like Hallee Berry, Meryl Streep, Octavia Spencer, Cate Blanchett, Whoopi Goldberg etc. At best MM was the US equivalent of the actress who has been on Eastenders since she was a child. Yes, she was an actress but all this, 'used to the glamour and energy of Hollywood and so couldn't adapt to the stuffy monarchy' talk is stupid.

MM also had a very, very good education in IR and there is lots of evidence of her working to raise her profile before she married PH. She had also been married before and lived with partners. To believe and suggest she did not know what she was coming into is beyond ridiculous. She was not a sheltered teenager like Diana and to some extent Kate were, when they became involved with their future husbands.

She also flip-flops from presenting herself as a strong, intelligent, self supporting woman, to the poor innocent who nobody asked if they were OK. She has also got all of her status from the man she married, which makes her protestations of being a femininist a little bit nauseating. People criticised Kate for not working and being a clothes horse before marriage, but in fairness to her she never claimed or tried to be a psudeo intellectual about absolutely everything, whilst writing syrupy, overly florid speeches etc. in an attempt to sound profound, but which actually come off like a precocious sixth former.

Having no old friends and only your mother at your wedding (when members of your family are living) and filling the seats with celebs, who have said they don't know you, was odd.

I thought it was odd that she invited people she'd only just met and hardly knew to sit in her family section but not her friends that she'd worked with for 7 years. Surely she'd be closer to them?

But there were people from Suits at the wedding.

Do you just mean they should have sat in a different place?

LBFseBrom · 01/09/2022 00:49

I listened to the first one which included Serena Williams and was pleasantly surprised. I think Meghan is a natural for this type of thing.

Fifife · 01/09/2022 00:51

You do know it's possible to not be completely team Cambridge or Sussex. I don't find Kate particularly inspirational it's not what I'd hope for my daughter meet a rich man at uni and wait to marry then produce heirs. Kate is quiet and humble and has a strong family support. She knows she is incredibly privileged.

Meghan has actually worked but she constantly complains about everything including the very people who gave her the money, fame and platform she desperately wanted. She has also been caught out in numerous lies.

Yes. There was the main body of the church and the inner part, the quire, that was reserved for family. You can't actually see past the quire screen so those sat in the main church had tv monitors up so they could see what was happening. Her friends of 7 years got to sit outside the quire whilst people she hardly new went inside. Weird.

I think it’s a bit sad that a woman who clearly loves having a family and adores her husband is critiqued for not having a ‘career’. Her job is defined by her role. It’s not easy, despite what many say. Being on public display and having every aspect of your life picked over and criticised is very tough. Why shouldn’t a woman want her children to be her main focus in life? Is someone rushing to get to work at 6 am , leaving her children with paid carers , getting home late someone to emulate? Each to their own. Feminism means choices. That is her choice.

SilverLiningPlaybook · 01/09/2022 03:32

That was in reference to Kate. Meghan pretends to be ever so important, and a ‘working woman’ but she’s married very well and lives off her husbands money. She has no particular talents apart from looking pretty. She causes upset and hurt at every turn and is obsessed with herself.
At least Kate doesn’t pretend she’s something she isn’t.

I agree. I enjoyed it, I really admire Serena and you could tell they were close friends and enjoyed being in each others company.

@notanotheroneagain You keep posting, you talk for many others who feel the same as you do.

This is actually a great summary.

I am curious as to whether laura mccallen (the last image uploaded) reported these "old white men" to their companies for what they were doing?

Or whether she and those that liked her post just let it go.

To me, those that see these things, post them online but do nothing else are as bad as those doing them in the first place.

The TV news companies are not going to like being in the news themselves.

BadgerB · 01/09/2022 07:16

J0y
My mother needs her rosy view of herself reflect back to her and luckily she has my father telling her that yes she is right again of course and my father who lost his mother at 7 and has been depressed has strength as one half of a very strong couple (because it's led by my mum). Together they are strong. Even though deep down my mother is very insecure and my father cannot ever be strong on his own, only strong in backing somebody else up.

I think you are right. This is the dynamic of H&M's marriage. It will only fail if M finds someone more useful (and richer) than H. A politician maybe? Then she will demand custody of the children - and a whole lot of money to keep them in Royal style.

susan12345678 · 01/09/2022 07:32

I was looking on Twitter to see if there were any updates on the Lion King saga. I noticed lots of bot-like tweets supporting Meghan, and in favour of abolishing the Royal Family. It’s fascinating. Who is funding these campaigns? I don’t think it’s just Meghan & Harry themselves (although I can see they are both eaten up with their jealousy of Kate & William and would probably happily see the monarchy destroyed, out of sheer spite and envy). But there’s more going on here.

Funny that isn't it, we keep getting articles about other things, but none have N word in, and if they did too right they should be called out, so, give us the proof.

I think I can understand why this has been seen as racist tbh. Some of the newspaper articles at the time were racist. I didn’t follow the press at the time btw so had no idea. I am not a H&M fan and it is not ok to change the narrative that the press used the N word when it didn’t. I can just see why the connection is being made.

She specifically said they used the n word . That’s not seen as racist , that IS racist . And shocking .
Instead of just throwing around serious allegations , she needs to name and shame.

Maybe you can number it. Or does that make it too obvious you want an MM bashing thread ?

This is number 3 btw.

its like the old days. threads numbered and full of hate.
the obsession with her is really unhealthy.

I'm confused, the threads aren't numbered?

And tbf, looking at Twitter, and on other MN threads about the RF, it's her supporters who seem obsessed and full of hate. The utter nastiness about Kate is breathtaking.

@samcro Yep. It got up to three figures. I remember them well, they were awful, each thread outdoing the one just gone for new ways or names to insult them. MN then had to ban all threads on the couple, as they literally did not have the manpower to moderate them as they were so awful.

OP, you are asking about the 'Lion King saga'. Here you go.

Meghan met Lebo M, the composer that she thought to be a cast member and the mail didn't reach him on purpose....they reached the guy they knew was absent from premiere! If it takes me 5 minutes to verify this, they knew and they chose to twist things again!

~Are you saying that those who don't agree with all the vitriol about Meghan... hate Kate?

Because that is just not true. They are two different people.
