Unpopular opinions about the royal family

I am just interested to see your opinions about the royal family. No judgement. And it can be from any royal family, not just the British one.

I wonder how this is going to go…

my unpopular opinion - we’d be better off without them.

Rid of the adults, kids into working class homes and schools.

Buckingham palace and all other royal homes turned into homes for the homeless and refugees.

Same for all aristocrats.

But then I am a communist.

People argue about tourism, but the money from tourism will always be there. We don’t need them to be alive or status of RF to bring that tourism money in.

They're just a bunch of self-serving twats who couldn't give a fat rat's crack about anybody else.

Based only on reading threads on the RF section (which can become quite scary), I don't think that's an unpopular opinion at all.

The Queen is every bit as self interested and conniving as any politician.

My unpopular opinion is that Charles will make an excellent King

I've never understood the 'but they bring tourists to the uk' argument. It's not like Chad and Cheryl from Texas are going to sit down for tea with the queen, are they? So what is it? The palaces could all be opened up for public viewing, their priceless art could be put in galleries.

They are not interested in us. What they are really interested in is self preservation and preservation of their riches and privileges.

They have several huge houses each. Why?

In addition to those underhoused, sofa surfing etc. As well as people who are struggling to move out of their parent's due to the cost of housing. They could all be used as starter homes until people get on their feet.

I don't care for them and never have

We should;

Confisctate the duchies for the exchequer.

Take a couple of the publicly owned castles/palaces and give them to the national trust.

Put the direct heirs and their immediate relatives on a wage.

Replace courtiers with civil servants in rotation.

Leave them with Sandringham and Balmoral.

Streamline the ceremonial folderol.

Let them got on with it.

I really like the Royal Family, and think that (most of them) work really hard.

Yep.

Make them work zero hours shifts, and send the kids to ‘improving’ schools. Bet they won’t be struggling to pay their heating bills in winter.

also I am sick of seeing bill and Kate’s gurning grin and over white smile. People are struggling more than ever , we have Dickensian poverty and these two always look so pleased with themselves.

Yeah ok.

The royal family would be nothing without the people who married in to them. People are far more interested in Megan and Kate than anyone else and they plus Mike Tindall make them seem slightly more relatable.

The queen was a really shit mum.

We have no idea what any of them are actually like. We only see their media persona.

Camilla seems like she'd be a right laugh.

Ds is a journalist on national press. He says anything in the Royals sells papers like nothing else.

He finds writing about them tedious, but they sell papers.
