Disagreement is fine but threads like these descend into aggressive bullying which is not fine .

what bullying?
i have seen people questioning why people who dislike M are so obsessed (me)
people having a joke.
how is that bullying?

Readinginthesun · 04/08/2022 16:21

Ah, the old “ only banter “ . Often just bullying .

A joke about having a pee in a bush is not bullying. However much you like to accuse people who don't agree with you.

It seems to have worked and people have benefited from it. And maybe they don't want their personal mentoring session made public? That could be the case for either the mentor or the mentee. Not sure I would.
MM can do this how she wants, she doesn't owe us anything. And let's face it, however she did it would be wrong.

I now have a list in my head of who I'd like a session with!

It seems to have worked and people have benefited from it.
With no feedback, how do we know that?

And maybe they don't want their personal mentoring session made public?
I wouldn't expect the session to be videoed. But surely out if 40 mins, a mentee can come up with some non-specific good advice. They can clear it with the mentor first. Surely out of 40 people, they could find 5 people to feed back.

MM can do this how she wants, she doesn't owe us anything.
I think its a great idea. I was out of the workforce for just a couple of years, and I really lost my confidence.

And let's face it, however she did it would be wrong.
It's not wrong, it's how it could be done better. Surely her project was not just to help 40 women. It's to help as many women as possible in that situation. So if you've persuaded 40 people to give 40mins, surely you'd want to capitalise on that and reach as many people as possible? I mean 40mins with Hillary Clinton with all her experience! Fantastic. And great for the mentee but surely a lot more could have bern git out of that 40 mins that so many more women could have benefitted from.

I think its a great cause but could have reached and helped more people.

That’s not what I mean and fine you know it .
I had a member of stuff who was always “ having a joke “ or “ bantering “. Out and out bully who reduced colleagues to tears and then complained I was bullying him by speaking to him about it .
Nasty.

What do you mean then?

Roussette · 04/08/2022 16:54

With no feedback, how do we know that?

As I have already said, there was feedback at the time with tweets from people who had been mentored and I said to you, don't make me go back and find them! Maybe not prominent enough for you but I did see some feedback. I can't remember who.

As for the rest of your post. OK, you could've done it better. At least it was something, which I am sure you will agree with. Smile

Also as I explained the 40 was 40 minutes on a 40 birthday. Not 40 people as far as I recall. It's over a year ago now.

MarshaMelrose · 04/08/2022 17:46

I searched for feedback but couldn't find anything. I don't have twitter. No one even knows if these are genuine people. I quoted a jury member from the Depp-Heard trial who was on TicToc and it turned out he was fake. 😔

I definitely wouldn't expect you to go back and waste time to find them. You shouldn't need to. They should be somewhere that people can refer to as needed, say, I don't know, maybe on the Archewell website.

As for the rest of your post. OK, you could've done it better. At least it was something, which I am sure you will agree with.

I appreciate that, Roussette, because I could indeed do a better job than that. To expend time to find 40 people and then not follow up in any meaningful way...? Very poor on the part of her staff.

Also as I explained the 40 was 40 minutes on a 40 birthday. Not 40 people as far as I recall. It's over a year ago now.

It was indeed a long time ago so I don't blame you for forgetting. If only it had been kept in the news...

I have asked 40 friends, activists, athletes, artists, and world leaders to help kickoff a global effort by contributing 40 MINUTES OF MENTORSHIP

Although she only ever released the names of 26. Strange that. Unless 14 of the 40 declined, of course.

Roussette · 04/08/2022 18:16

I really am not the slightest bit worried about any of this, unlike you. It was something she did a year ago. And as I have said more than once, if one person got something valuable out of it... it was worthwhile.

We don't pay for her, it's up to her isn't it?

Sorry... I'm a bit bored with this conversation now. I think we've covered it all, haven't we?
You think it was rubbish. I don't.

MarshaMelrose · 04/08/2022 18:27

OK. But I've been quite clear that I don't think that the initiative was rubbish at all. I think I called it great. However, I think the full exploitation if it and the post management of the project, sadly lacking. I feel happy to both admire and criticise.

Roussette · 04/08/2022 18:28

That's fine, your prerogative.

antelopevalley · 04/08/2022 18:36

Post management? It was a one-off initiative. It could have been a larger ongoing project, they were always clear it was not.

I think Archewell is all about leadership projects at the moment so I think this is still something they're interested in. Therefore it's on their website.
But I was talking about exploiting the 40 people x 40 minutes last year. They could have got a lot more out of it than just the mentorship of 40 women.

i haven’t seen it myself.
do find it odd that on a thread you started to rip someone apart, you complain about bullying 🌳

More front than Brighton!

Over the past few years these Meghan threads have had the worst bullying I've ever seen online, and it's all been Meghan haters bullying anyone who defends her.

You're crying bullying because people didn't agree with you? Where the fuck were you when Meghan bashers were shouting the N word at people, or photoshopping faked DMs to try to get black posters banned, or stalking posters around the site and making nasty comments about how stupid and awful they are on every unrelated thread they posted in, or bragging about how they'd been banned a dozen times and kept creating new emails so they could keep re-registering because trashing Meghan was that important to them?

If people are happy over Omid Scobies book, you can't really moan about Tom Bower's. It's hypocritical.

No, because multiple people quoted in the Bower book have gone on record to say it's full of lies, and the book is also racist and demeaning towards Caribbean political leaders who have done nothing wrong and don't deserve to be dragged into some stupid royal propaganda tiff.

Samcro · 05/08/2022 11:48

More front than Brighton... the sun is shining here.

@JemimaPuddlegoose good post.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/08/2022 12:00

The point about the FF book is that Meghan categorically denied having been involved. Then admitted she had been involved

That's why it may be a bit risky to claim this next one is clearly nothing to do with H&M

For me, Omid's ghastly purple prose rather suits the rest of his persona, but basically he can write whatever he wants ... just don't lie about it and then expect people to take what you say seriously

Roussette · 05/08/2022 12:26

This with knobs on! I know all this from personal experience, I've been subjected to the worst imaginable, I could write a book on it, so let's not go there with bullying on this thread when it is actually just not agreeing with the OP.

There's a glimmer of sun here @Samcro I hope it hangs about!

MarshaMelrose · 05/08/2022 13:16

Oh, stop it. Its not like you're an objective critic, is it? You have a pro HAM stance like others have a pro WAK stance. But you're so embedded in it, you can't step outside and see the truth of the big picture. Which is that both of the books are mainly true with maybe some gossip thrown in of course people deny things afterwards. Diana's frends denied things in Mortons book and she blooming wrote ot!
Step away and get some perspective. These are two couples you don't even know and you have zero knowledge what is true or not.
And if political leaders can't manage to deal with fluff like this, they not cut out to lead a country.

Ohnonevermind · 06/08/2022 08:39

As Samantha Markle is suing Meghan Markle over contents in the book, this could all end up in court, and the truth and Provence of the stories will be discussed in detail

I think she’s upset about the book saying her kids were put into care - SM said this was during a MS flare up rather than bad parenting and comments about her leaving school etc The emails by MM came across as quite snide, clearly no love lost there.

it seems to be winging it’s way through the American courts and MM has failed in her initial efforts to get it dismissed so we will have to wait and see.

I don’t think Omid is a royal reporter. He seems more an unofficial U.K. spokesperson for the Sussex’s. I don’t know if he gets into the accredited royal reporters box ?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/08/2022 12:51

I think (Samantha’s) upset about the book saying her kids were put into care

However ghastly some of her behaviour I can't say I blame her for that, especially when it was spitefully bracketed with how many DCs she's had by how many fathers - try that on here and the post would be deleted almost instantly

It also seemed a rather odd choice of disclosure from someone who has so much to say about compassion; another example perhaps of the words not matching the deeds?

JemimaPuddlegoose · 06/08/2022 16:20

Nitpicking because she made one snide (but factual) comment about an abusive liar grifter half-sister she barely knew, who racially abused Meghan's mum, who was found guilty of abusing a niece Meghan was close to, in the middle of that sister conducting a hate campaign to use the press to harass her, a sister who'd continually tried to financially exploit and profit of her.

Sorry Meghan is not the perfect fembot 24/7 that you expect her to be.

Oh and as for Sam losing custody of all three of her children due to her "MS." Samantha Grant was found guilty of "physical and emotional abuse of a child" by the State of New Mexico, and all three of her children have restraining orders against her. Her own children have spoken on the record to say that she is abusive and "hateful", entirely motivated by money, and had a long "vendetta" against Meghan.

Meghan haters are so consumed with hatred they defend and take the side of a proven child abuser.

JemimaPuddlegoose · 06/08/2022 16:22

He's Royal Editor for Harper's Bazaar.

Roussette · 06/08/2022 16:39

@JemimaPuddlegoose
I'm inclined to agree. It's beyond me why posters vigorously defend both Samantha and Meghan's father, when it is obvious they are just awful. Well... I do know why they do it, because it's a way of being negative about Meghan.

To be honest, anyone who can change their name by deed poll the minute their sister meets Prince Harry is obviously cashing in. Her name was Samantha Grant. Now Samantha Markle. That tells me all I need to know.
