Camilla not the Royal Harry said made racist comments

After the revelation that Camilla allegedly said it would be funny if Harry and Meghan's baby had a "ginger afro", one "highly placed source told Page Six: “Camilla is not racist — I can tell you categorically she is not the royal who Harry and Meghan were talking about.”"

pagesix.com/2022/07/22/camilla-parker-bowles-is-not-the-racist-royal-insiders-say/

If true this is worse. It would mean that Camilla says racist jokes, but that another member of the Royal Family had said more damning racist remarks.

I was alluding to the fact that the information seemed to have come full circle. If I considered the subject unworthy, I would not be following this thread.

Sorry, my comment was for the poster who is suggesting no paintings of non white people from the time period be displayed.

Ah, sorry. My fault entirely. Crossed messages on the screen.

And Catherine just happened to physically recoil from Jamaica’s Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment & Sport, Olivia Grange, on Tuesday. The Jamaican official is seen trying to gently reach for the royal’s hand to guide her over to speak with her. The Duchess of Cambridge keeps stepping further and further back.

Looks like engaging to me.

Lolliesareonme · 27/07/2022 21:21

For some reason I can’t link to the video on Twitter.

Pic here of the person who uploaded a clip of meeting. See if you change your mind - if you can be bothered to search their timeline for it.

That is a strange photo to post. I can't even work out where Catherine is.

Lots of great footage on that account, actually.

It was a pointer for a clip you could watch of Olivia Grange and Catherine interacting.

Heres a still for you though - it’s of Catherine reaching out to shake hands.

More interestingly - when I was trying to find a clip that actually linked, I saw a clip of the recoil.

Comments underneath showed a clip a few seconds longer which shows a different context.

So therefore not worthy of being the subject of a painting?

??

No such suggestion was made.

I can't see any video clips on the link. And still photos are pretty meaningless. I saw the video of her recoiling, but it seems to have been taken down.

I have found the video of Catherine recoiling on Twitter. Articles written about it no longer have a link though.
This is the link on twitter.

Sorry, antelope, that video shows absolutely nothing.

antelopevalley · 28/07/2022 13:42

It shows Catherine physically stepping back and moving her arm away to avoid the black Jamaican Minister touching her.
I do not think it would matter too much if it was the only sign of racism. But the tells keep adding up, especially on that Colonial Tour.
I know many on here will not accept this as so many of you do not see racism. But plenty of people, particularly younger people do. So unless the Royals sort this issue out fast, there will continue to be issues.

Charles by contrast always looks warm and like he is really engaging with the black and brown people he meets around the world. I do not know his private views, but he has nailed this publicly.

They are public figures who only get vast amounts of money and privilege because they are public figures. So they need to get this right or they may find themselves abolished.

It doesn't show that at all. I would be far more convinced if the video started thirty seconds earlier. It looks very much as if it's been cut to try and prove something that isn't there.

Lolliesareonme · 28/07/2022 13:47

The clip you showed is 5 seconds.

The clip I viewed was 10 seconds. Unfortunately I don’t know how to link to Twitter clips.

antelopevalley · 28/07/2022 13:49

@Lolliesareonme the clip I posted is all I could find. I could not find the clip you said was there. All you do is right click and copy the video url.

It's easy!

If you are on a mobile... go to the bottom of the tweet you want to link.
There will be a share symbol bottom right below the tweet.
From there you can share it anywhere, but it's easiest to just press 'copy link', then come back to the thread and it will show below your typing box.
Enclose it in and voila!

antelopevalley · 28/07/2022 14:41

I scrolled all the way back on the twitter blog and nothing show before the 8th of April. I do not know if that means there were no tweets before that, or if they have been deleted?

Catherine seems very comfortable here surrounded by POC.

Awkward here with one particular person. This is the longest clip I can find online but would be interested to see more.

I am not sure why her discomfort (if that's what it is) means she has a problem with Olivia Grange's skin color. I think the people saying this just hate her because she's their foil to Meghan. Being unfair to one person will not make the life of another person better!

How do you all feel about the video of Meghan repeatedly grabbing Harry's arm while he pulls it away? (I know it's doctored). I think it is stupid and unfair to attribute anything to a video clip of few seconds in the life of a married couple.

antelopevalley · 28/07/2022 15:00

@unname A photo where catherine is fine with black people behind a fence is proof she is not racist?
The issue is as I said there are various examples where Catherine and William's attitude towards race and black people is questionable at best.
You know I do not really care. But if they do not sort this out, it is going to have repercussions. If they develop a reputation for racism, they will find it hard to shake off.

@antelopevalley You didn’t look at the photo I posted. It’s not behind a fence.

Did you name change recently or do you post under multiple names? The twisting of my post above makes me think of another poster whose posts are confusing and twisted. If you are that poster I’m not interested in engaging.

antelopevalley · 28/07/2022 15:15

@unname I have never name changed.
There is a low-level fence about waist height. I did look at the photo.
In practice, there is no issue with a fence of that height. But it does not prove they are comfortable around black people.

Do you honestly not understand the point I made with my post?
If not, I cannot make you understand it and won't try.

antelopevalley · 28/07/2022 15:29

You said Catherine seemed comfortable with the POC in the photo. Your point I assume being she is not racist as she looked comfortable in that photo. And the clip where she looked uncomfortable and moved away had nothing to do with the Minister being black.

I am disagreeing with you. That is all.
