After the revelation that Camilla allegedly said it would be funny if Harry and Meghan's baby had a "ginger afro", one "highly placed source told Page Six: “Camilla is not racist — I can tell you categorically she is not the royal who Harry and Meghan were talking about.”"

If true this is worse. It would mean that Camilla says racist jokes, but that another member of the Royal Family had said more damning racist remarks.

Harry has grown and changed . Any fool can see that .
Honestly if he stayed here as a working royal the royalist would not even give a fig about this. They are not interested in racism as such - it is used to try and silence anyone who dares to mention that there is racism in the RF.

True

And it's a weak strategy and it's failing

Mirabai · 04/12/2022 16:01

@Novella4

And plenty of the Windsors relatives were ACTUAL nazis - where's the outrage about that ?

So it seems (according to "sources" so take this for whatever it's worth) that the Netflix doc will take aim at the British public in general, as well as his family and the media. Harry did say publicly a while ago that Britain is a racist country (bold language from a man who dressed as a Nazi and was forced to undergo racial sensitivity training for using racial epithets about his colleagues).

So maybe we can watch Netflix to discover that we're all terrible racists here in the UK as told by UK expert sociologist Harry.

Maybe Harry knows from source? As if you look generations back, his family would not be excepted from being racist.

Anyways even if the system needs to change, this is not the way to change it. Good riddance to them - we don't need this drama here, so if they want to shift it to the British public, actually great as the gap just widens.

Harry is looking increasingly like a smaller and less relevant take of the Duke of Windsor's mindset more and more. So entitled - so removed from reality.

Possibly slightly rich coming from someone currently domiciled in the US. Would he have said the same thing from where he's currently sitting, that the US is a racist country?

@queenofarles No one is complaining about the existence of a painting.
What they are questioning is the Cambridges choice to hang this painting in their living room. There is a vast art collection that the Cambridges can choose from. They decided to have this particular painting with the title clearly visible.
At a minimum, that implies a lack of understanding of racism and how things will be viewed. The same lack of judgement was shown during their Caribbean tour. Although in the tour you actually had Catherine visibly shrinking away from a black woman.
My personal view is that there is clear evidence they very much are a racist family. That may not be unusual within their social circle though and they may not see themselves as racist. There are plenty of people who think that racism is only stating the most extreme statements or where there is extreme discrimination.
But I think this is going to present an increasingly public relations challenge to them. People excused Philip and would have excused the Queen because they are very old. There will not be the same excusing of the next generations of the Royal Family. Charles isn't too bad at all this, he is more tuned in to what could be considered offensive than the others. But as others take a more prominent role, this may be an increasing issue.
The Royal Family have to win support from young people, and young people in general are very unforgiving of racism and much more likely to recognise racism.

If there is a clear eveidence like you say that royal family is racist, wht Harry brought Meghan to live with these racist people?
Why until recently, he was ok to spend time with racist Camilla, who also caused a lot of misery to his mother?
Did he just realise his family members are racist after he married Meghan when a person like you who has never been to the royal homes and met any of them can very well see they are racist. Why Harry has become poor Harry. Maybe he is the one who was so desperate that he brought his wife to live with such bad people and inside the institution now he says was bad to his mother too.

Sorry for the typos and akward last sentence but I think my point is clear.

Usernamesarboring · 05/12/2022 17:44

@Coucous because here they are not open and clear about her racist experience. Also, Harry must know about his racist family by the age of 36 when he got married, he should have started his life away from the racist family. They were not kids.
He was happy to invite her to Christmas with family before they got married, attend events in group of 4 with his racist brother and sister in law and now for last one year and half has started talking of racism in his family. He comes across as a person of no integrity, so people tend to not believe him /them.

LBFseBrom · 05/12/2022 17:49

I dislike Tom Bower's writing, everything he says is 'barbed'. I didn't know he said that about Camilla however I am not surprised and think, in that instance, he got it right. I heard the same months ago from a person who does know them; of course that is hearsay and it doesn't matter to me whether anyone believes it or not. However I do believe it. It is never going to admitted so why worry?

Coxspurplepippin · 05/12/2022 19:21

'Although in the tour you actually had Catherine visibly shrinking away from a black woman.'

This claim had been debunked time after time after time, and yet, here it is again. Just endlessly repeating it ain't going to make it so, and tbh accusing someone of racism when you have no scintilla of evidence is an incredibly nasty thing to do.

@Coxspurplepippin and it’s always the same poster who brings it up
