Harry's speech at the UN

KatharineofAragon · 18/07/2022 19:37

Just what is going on? Why does Harry think he is qualified to pronounce on various political matters in another country? Why is he invited and who cares what he thinks? Am I the only one thinking he is behaving like a total numpty?

OK, Roussette, I know it's a nuisance looking up stuff on the phone. I'll search and see what I can find about his achievements to date. Thanks.

The UN arent actually sitting right now, on summer break like the rest of the worlds politicians, i suspect they were addressing a room of interns, certainly not high ranking delegates

The hatred now means demoting high ranking officials to 'interns'. 😂

Why was the audience so small. Is there some other even clash?

Someone said the UN isn't sitting at the moment. But I don't think it matters how many were in the room. It's been reported everywhere so what he's said has gone out to millions beyond the room.
I haven't heard or read what he said, though. What did he say?

MarshaMelrose · 18/07/2022 23:13

I mean it's Mandela Day. You'd expect a large South African contingent, wouldn't you? It'd be a really shit day if they didn't bother to turn up.

notanotheroneagain · 18/07/2022 23:14

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 18/07/2022 22:10

Wait hold your horses- are you sure he flew by private jet? Should you check if he killed some puppies on the way, or perhaps set fire to a union jack or had lunch with morrisey?

So much rabid hatred still knocking around, even after all this time. He left you all in, what, 2020?

THis !

If people really had a problem with this imagined private jet, they can just pop over to the another thread just here on RF about other royals who were actually captured on video doing their needles private flight.

MrsOwainGlyndŵr · 18/07/2022 23:14

I agree. Harry with his 2 grade D GCSEs and an E grade A level, or whatever he got, preaching to the UN?? Could they really not find anyone more qualified?? 🤔😯

I doubt they 'didn't bother', knowing how much Mandela means to South Africans. Also, only certain few are usually allowed in the GA.

KatharineofAragon · 18/07/2022 22:02

The irony of him stressing the dangers of climate change when he’s flown in by private jet just doesn’t seem to register with him.

Nobody ever claimed Harry was smart.

Roussette · 18/07/2022 23:20

Do you know they didn't turn up?

I have seen a lot of SA organisations praising his speech on their Twitter feeds. Have a look.

Also his speech is online if you want to listen to it.

I agree, it is rude to call them a load of interns. I saw him and Meghan arriving and sat with people, they did not look like interns to me ! Maybe I'm not too old to be an intern lol. @notanotheroneagain

MissTrip82 · 18/07/2022 23:23

It’s always a bit cringe-inducing when they get celebrities to speak at these sorts of things.

I assume it’s done to get publicity for an event that would otherwise be ignored by many news outlets.

It’s obviously not done because the celebrity is going to contribute some major insight not previously uncovered by experts working in the sector for years.

Bloody hell. How insulting can people be?
I left school at 15 with barely an exam to my name, and I've had a successful career so just stop. It is very derogatory all this endless calling him thick.

It just shows you all up as extremely unpleasant

Exactly. That was the South Africa representation that he was sat with. You'd expect them to be there, wouldn't you, otherwise it would be a pretty bad Mandela Day. That would be like celebrating Bastille Day with no one from France.

Was that addressed to me? I said that a South Africa contingent was there which would be what you'd expect. Because it would be a shit Mandela Day if no one from SA showed up! He sat with them.

LondonWolf · 18/07/2022 23:31

"rabid hatred"

Oh give over.

KalvinPhillipsBoots · 18/07/2022 23:34

OP you will have the very bitter nasty Meghan fans attack you like they do everywhere else they turn up at, just for having an opinion!

He does nothing but moan and whinge just like his wife. A conceited spoilt brat speaking at an event, and it will be all over the news, yet they 'claim' they want privacy?

KalvinPhillipsBoots · 18/07/2022 23:34

Badger1970 · 18/07/2022 19:54

I wondered how long it would take for Harry's fan club to rock up.

He's an embarrassment to himself these days. No wonder no one bothered showing up.

Exactly!

KalvinPhillipsBoots · 18/07/2022 23:36

@Jalisco It can be spelt any which way she wants! Does it trigger you??

PlantSpider · 18/07/2022 23:37

Jalisco · 18/07/2022 20:01

Probably because he's more interesting than you? Seriously, I have no interest in the Royal family or is former members. But honestly, what is this fixation about criticising absolutely everything Harry or Megan do?

And it's Katherine, not Katharine!

Catherine 😀

Are they the ones throwing hate about on a couple they don't pay for, who don't live here, endless insults calling him thick, her scheming and far far worse?

No.

Your post is so daft it's funny.

caringcarer · 18/07/2022 23:40

Commenting on the environment after taking yet another private jet is breathtakingly hypocritical. Only a dozen or so people wanted to hear him preach anyway.

KalvinPhillipsBoots · 18/07/2022 23:43

@Roussette sadly Madame is all of them!

Who is Madame?

ajandjjmum · 18/07/2022 23:45

There were so many empty seats - the majority of the delegates obviously didn't have much interest in hearing what he had to say.

He also looked thoroughly miserable most of the time, although Meghan looked very smiley.

KatharineofAragon · 18/07/2022 23:52

That’s because she wrote the speech..
