Just what is going on? Why does Harry think he is qualified to pronounce on various political matters in another country? Why is he invited and who cares what he thinks? Am I the only one thinking he is behaving like a total numpty?

Just ask yourself... would you like to be called that? Or your children called that?

What is 'thick' in your book? He didn't get a string of A levels, is that what you mean?
There is far more to intelligence than A levels and an Oxbridge degree.

"Thick" enough to head Invictus, Sentebale etc. and make a success out of them and bring a lot of needed money.

I wonder what you, clever clogs, have done that you are such a genius .

He is thick, though.

You know his IQ do you?

Do you also think it's OK to go round calling people thick?

I don't.

It’s very disappointing to see people who are supposedly grown up’s tripping over each other to insult another person by describing them as thick.

It makes you wonder what examples they set to any children they have.

I agree. It's pretty unpleasant.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't run them by himself. He had the idea - someone else made it happen (and runs it on an ongoing basis)

This, I agree. If someone called their child thick, for whatever reason, I doubt they would be ok with that.

Are you saying you have to be an academic to address people? Oh dear, I should've realised that and put myself back in my box when I had to.

Either have a lived experience of the subject matter in question or be academic enough to research what you're speaking about.

Most big organisations have a ................team. Not one person. Not all are successful. Still it him who raised over 1M for Sentebale.

Did he? How? Sponsored walks? Or what?

Or have a speech writer write a speech for you to read out.

Readinginthesun · 19/07/2022 14:12

Zeeshan Aleem, from America’s MSNBC has written a scathing piece about H’s speech . Not insulting and absolutely spot on. Tried to link it but couldn’t however it can be googled .

i can't get over judging someone as thick because they are not academic.
really shows how vile people are. maybe I feel strongly about it as a parent of someone with ld's.
do you judge all people that way?

Thank you . I thought it was interesting to see an American perspective.

Would not hold him up as 'American perspective'. He used to work for the BBC. At some point his speciality was country living, and mens health. Now he is trying his hand at 'political journalism' which explains why he is confused why Harry was invited.

There is, however, confusion as to why H was invited in the first place. Is there any truth to the rumour - I freely admit that I have only seen this as an unsubstantiated rumour in comments after articles - that they themselves paid to play?

notanotheroneagain · 19/07/2022 15:06

Paid who and how?
Why would you believe something that don't even make practical sense.

ajandjjmum · 19/07/2022 15:11

It is horrible to call something thick - even if it is the truth.

It is equally horrible to imply that your grandparents were dreadful parents, which is why your father is a dreadful father. Moreso to pronounce this to the world, rather than on a platform such as MN.

I'd rather be called thick than a dreadful parent.
