And I am too. Only wish I could look as good as Kate! I wonder how they will celebrate?

@derxa

I wish Kate a happy birthday. I admire her for her strength of character and if William had an affair then Kate must be the greatest actress in history.
She looks genuinely very happy 😊

@Jooox

All very strange.

I enjoyed William’s Earth Shot programmes shown this year so hope there’s something similar and conservation focused for his birthday (if there is to be anything).

I also enjoyed Kate’s carol service so hope that becomes an annual thing.

There won't be. The ratings were very low after the first programme and subsequent episodes were moved to a less popular time slot. The ratings for the carol service were also much lower than that usual time slot. The Carol service might become an annual thing in a less popular time slot when the audience figures justify its placement.

Also earlier on the thread someone asked why has the accusations against William resurfaced now from 2019.
I have no proof. But I think it is to take the heat off from Andrew.

tomorrowalready · 03/01/2022 15:57

I am old, I remember when William was born. I was at a party to celebrate finishing A Levels (mature student at evening classes). His possible name was discussed. I said I did not think they would call him William as a royal name with not such good associations.

There as not royalty present or even any entitled people yet I remember it well.

TequilaBlaze · 03/01/2022 16:35

@Diywizz I'd also be interested to know this. I'm the same age and would like to think I've done more than marry a rich man and produce children.

rubicscubicle · 04/01/2022 18:51

Giles did not start the affair rumour. Just merely confirmed its true. He would have changed his mind with everyone getting injunctions of course .

The rumour was started by the toffs. A hints was given when a few articles stated that Rose had dinner with William without her husband or Kate.

No, Kate is not a great actress, did you not see her shrug during the Mary Berry xmas show last year? Oh, no you did not, because the BM did not cover it. Well everyone else was diagnosing, because they thought they could do that since MM and H were also diagnosed by every morning show in the UK when H told MM the music started when they were in the balcony.

I never saw them being particularly close. Why on earth would William say she looks like an xmas tree anyway.

The rumours have been discussed by bonafide journalists online.

StormzyinaTCup · 04/01/2022 21:57

No, Kate is not a great actress, did you not see her shrug during the Mary Berry xmas show last year? Oh, no you did not, because the BM did not cover it.

It was in the Daily Mail!!

SteppinOutwithMyBaby · 04/01/2022 23:06

@rubicscubicle "No, Kate is not a great actress, did you not see her shrug during the Mary Berry xmas show last year?"

So, are you saying that when Catherine looks radiantly happy, she actually is radiantly happy because she doesn't have the ability to pretend?

rubicscubicle · 05/01/2022 11:04

I don't know about her looking 'radiantly happy'. That never occurred to me. She grimaces grins a lot at events.
She does look like someone who has a beauty therapist on tap (facials, teeth whitening, botox (oh wait, she does not have botox apparently) etc.) that is all.

RoyalFamilyFan · 05/01/2022 11:08

How do you know she looks radiantly happy?
She grins a lot for photos, it is obviously her equivalent of cheese. But I see very posed photos. Not relaxed photos that give you a better insight into whether someone is happy or not.
I mean that is fine. The media have an insane focus on her appearance, so whatever works for her. But I do find it strange that people then make judgements about how happy she is or isn't when they haven't got a clue.

Samcro · 05/01/2022 16:11

i always think she looks quite happy in the smiley photos.

madisonbridges · 05/01/2022 16:28

I think it's sad how people are actively willing for her marriage to be bad and for her to be unhappy. She looks happy, her children look happy and at the carol service, she and William looked happy together. If he did have an affair, it looks like they've got over it or she wants us to think that. As women, can't we just leave her alone to get on with her private life?

SteppinOutwithMyBaby · 05/01/2022 19:10

@RoyalFamilyFan "How do you know she looks radiantly happy?"

I use my observational skills: I look at her, and to me, and from my perception of how she looks, she seem radiantly happy.

On the other hand, maybe she's an actress of Helen Mirren's ability, and is torn apart inside by whatever you want to imagine (I'm definitely not implying Helen Mirren is). If so, she missed her true calling.

Either Groucho Marx or George Burns said in reference to to Hollywood: if you can fake sincerity, you've got it made in this town.

RoyalFamilyFan · 05/01/2022 19:12

It is a posed expression. I saw a photo of her today laughing that looked totally natural. But nearly all her photos are posed.
And don't be diningenous. Nobody is willing her to be unhappy. I am simply saying she is a stranger.

SteppinOutwithMyBaby · 06/01/2022 00:25

Disingenuous? How so? My prior comment was in response to someone who said that Catherine was not a good actress. I merely said that if she isn't happy, she must indeed be a very good actress as she she manages to look extremely (there, I have taken it down a notch from radiantly) happy in both personal and private photographs and at public appearances. So what if they're posed, she looks happy.

Do I need to know her personally to think she looks happy? I don't think so. Are you saying I'm not entitled to an opinion? You are entitled to think whatever you like. I'm sure you would extend the same courtesy to others.

That's my truth, and I'm sticking to it.

RoyalFamilyFan · 06/01/2022 00:35

Okay stick with it.
It is a pose she puts on for every photo. It is the equivalent of saying cheese, rather than a natural expression. I don't think you can tell if someone is happy or not when they say cheese either.

madisonbridges · 06/01/2022 00:37

If I saw Meghan Markle smiling and laughing, I'd think she was happy. Why would you think she was hiding her unhappiness?

RoyalFamilyFan · 06/01/2022 00:45

Nobody has said that.

Seemslikeagoodidea · 06/01/2022 00:49

They look good for their age, they seem happy together, and Kate always looks beautiful. If an affair did happen, it appears that they have worked things out, and it's really nobody's business but theirs. Kate seems like a good partner for William, as she handles public life effortlessly and seems to cope well with life in the RF. They seem to do good work as ambassadors for our country, and maybe one day they will modernise the monarchy.

RoyalFamilyFan · 06/01/2022 00:52

What good work do they do for the country?

madisonbridges · 06/01/2022 01:13

@RoyalFamilyFan

What good work do they do for the country?
They make me happy. That's good work because not many people can do that. 🥳
SteppinOutwithMyBaby · 06/01/2022 02:46

@RoyalFamilyFan

"It is a pose she puts on for every photo." So you are saying her expression is the same in every photo? I'm sorry, but here I must say that recollections differ.

"I don't think you can tell if someone is happy or not when they say cheese either."

To me, her expression doesn't look like the stilted artificial one that the face assumes when a person says "Cheese." I think you can tell if someone is happy and if their smile is genuine. I'm also not going to continue with the she must be a great actress…

Unless you have some specific expertise in the area, of course, and then I would be quite happy to bow to your superior knowledge. However, I may have wrongly assumed that if you did have some sort of expertise you would've already mentioned it.

Roussette · 06/01/2022 09:03

If an affair did happen, it appears that they have worked things out, and it's really nobody's business but theirs

Not sure that's true. Given he will be King one day, Head of the Church and Armed Forces and someone we should be revering, I think it is the public's business really.

They seem happy. They have to seem happy. I hope they are, it will make it all the more peaceful for the RF which is turning into a bit of a soap opera at the moment.

William is very lucky to have her, she is perfect for the job.

If it happened, they have nothing. NO evidence at all.

some people say it was reported in other countries. Yeh, it was reported that there was a rumour.

Obviously who knows but I'd say that his head was turned, he was flirting, Kate tried to stop socialising with RH but as their circles are intertwined it was next to impossible.
