And I am too. Only wish I could look as good as Kate! I wonder how they will celebrate?

But also, the tabloids love a villain, it’s click bait for them as it brings in revenue.

true

On the other side of the coin, I find it interesting that William and Kate and any of the RF have not decried any of the vitriolic press about M&H at any point. Works both ways.

Absolutely

the80sweregreat · 01/01/2022 13:30

Kate obviously forgave him ( if it's true) about this affair.
Many people stray , maybe he came to his senses and they patched it up ?
Who knows , or really cares?
It's their business and I'm not a royalist and I think they should be disbanded really once the Queen dies, but many don't agree with this and I'm sure they will carry on.

controversial I know but I think her styling often ages her. The uniform bouncy curls are a little dated. I know clothes wise she has strict rules but I'm sure it could be better particularly the casual wear.

mugglesoup · 01/01/2022 13:33

For most people, Kate comes across incredibly well. William and the wider royal family are clearly devoted to her. Endless attempts to discredit her and her marriage have had no impact on her reputation - the rabid smears only resonate within the confines of that echo chamber inhabited by the 'Sussex squad'.

gilorga · 01/01/2022 13:34

I quite like having the Royals but do think the Queens death will be tricky. Covid also made them seem a little pointless, maybe the lack of press? I think H&M staying & the four of them together would have modernised it but maybe lots don't want that.

mugglesoup · 01/01/2022 13:35

Kate is beautiful, accomplished, intelligent, popular, and well-loved by the public. As a result, certain people are massively triggered by her - this thread is a perfect example.

NearlyAHoarder · 01/01/2022 13:36

Kate was dragged by the media for a decade. Kate never reacted.

The royal narrative is never complain, never explain. After saying doung /saying nothing to correct the narratives about kate, william was not going to correct or explain narratives about meghan. I cant understand why MM thought that would happen, but i suppose she wasnt in the uk for that decade that kate was labelled passive, waity, lazy, work shy, social climbing, machiavellian. Her mum chewed gum once. Her uncle wore a white vest!

They never reacted.

gilorga · 01/01/2022 13:37

@mugglesoup I find posts like yours really interesting? What are you so upset by?

I think K seems like a nice girl & am glad she is loved & appreciated by her family. What's the Sussex squad? You can recognise double standards & racism objectively without having to take sides surely?

Roussette · 01/01/2022 13:37

Yep, agree. But not sure they will 'carry on' effortlessly. I think they will limp on. C&C aren't popular at all. So much has happened to reduce the RF to a bit of a soap opera to be honest.

Personally, I think Charles should cut out all the dead wood, just him and W&K, open up the palaces to the public (I think he intends to do this) and the Govt. should reverse the rule/law that the Soereign Grant can never be reduced and slash it.

ABitOfAShitShow · 01/01/2022 13:38
@Jobseeker19 I don't know that much as I said I've seen it mentioned on here & I'm not a avid Royal follower although who doesn't enjoy a bit of Royal gossip?!

So apparently William had an affair a few yrs back & the stories about it were suppressed. It was trending on twitter the last few days, in reference to an injunction.

I'm far more interested in that side than the actual affair.
Last I heard was that the person who started the rumour admitted he’d made it up. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Roussette · 01/01/2022 13:38

mugglesoup I really don't think she is as popular as you would like to think.
Not at all.
Personally, I think she is perfect for the job. Whether we need that job is another matter. William is very lucky to have her as his wife.

gilorga · 01/01/2022 13:38

They should have though! so misogynistic

HNY2022 · 01/01/2022 13:40

It’s the classic defence to suggest people hate Kate because they say something that doesn’t put her on pedestal. A broken record. I agree, she’s very pretty and carries out her role perfectly.

For me, this story of the affair isn’t about William and Kate’s marriage, as I heard the stories 2.5 years ago, it’s more about the way the press may have worked with the Royals to cover the story, and the things the press have done to cover up the story. That is what I find more shocking here, although I shouldn’t be surprised.

And if anything, it’s William who comes off poorly here, not Kate.

Roussette · 01/01/2022 13:40

I loathe this. There is very very much I would like explained when it comes to the RF. The Queen's Consent on laws for starters. The opaqueness on their finances... and so on

This is just crazy!

gilorga · 01/01/2022 13:41

Any criticism should be directed at William for one!

She was dragged…especially the Waity Katie title and the articles about her maternal background. But I genuinely don’t recall dozens of stories every single day about Kate, and I’m too young to remember what happened with Diana.
gilorga · 01/01/2022 13:43

@HNY2022 absolutely! It's bizarre that a story around how the press & the RF is twisted into hatred & jealousy around Kate. Honestly I'm quite surprised by some of these extreme reactions!

^^ This.
We don't have to adore her and revere her to think she is good for the role. But I'm not sure we need that role and I also think her work record is very poor. I certainly don't hate her

A few have mentioned the “Sussex Squad” but the “Cambridge Camp” certainly exists too.

It is possible for posters to talk about either the Sussexes or Cambridges without being on a side!

gilorga · 01/01/2022 13:45

I don't really know anything about her, why would I be jealous? I think she does her role well.

mugglesoup · 01/01/2022 13:47

@rousette

I really don't think she is as popular as you would like to think. Not at all.

She is very popular

I'm really not that invested to have a side because normally there's 3 sides to every story & most people are a combination of good & bad traits.
