More negative press for embattled Andy. Diddums.

How interesting OverByYer. I had read about Banque de Havilland and his connection before....

This hits the spot
“This demonstrates yet again that significant questions need to be asked about Prince Andrew’s business dealings and his association with some dubious characters,” said Norman Baker, a former U.K. government minister and author of a book about the British royal family’s finances. “Parliament should investigate this matter with some urgency.”

Norman Baker wrote the book 'And What do You Do?". Everyone should read it. A total eye opener.

His ties with this Bank are extremely dubious. It sounds like he was touting them all over the world when he was Trade Envoy and supposed to be promoting British business. And this is a Bank that has been fined for money laundering, the biggest fine in history. And the owner is BFs with PA, front seat at Eugenie's wedding etc.

Oh, how the plot thickens...

Ghislaine is charged with Enticement of Minors, Perjury, and Sex Trafficking of children.

Serenster · 16/11/2021 13:04

And this is a Bank that has been fined for money laundering, the biggest fine in history

Sorry, I’m not correcting this to be aggressive, but I quite honestly choked on my tea when I read that sentence. Grin

Money laundering is very poor conduct that should absolutely be investigated and punished by authorities. But Banque Havilland’s fine is chickenfeed - they got fined 4 million Euros. Goldman Sachs has been fined $2.9 billion, for example. In the UK Deutschebank was fined £163m.

Roussette · 16/11/2021 13:13

I am only repeating what I read in an article. The article was wrong then.

Here it is...

"The regulator fined the bank 4 million euros in 2018 for not having safeguards in place to protect against money laundering, one of the biggest fines it had ever levied. The breaches were apparently serious enough that the regulator informed local prosecutors, who opened a criminal probe that remains open"

I don't have your expertise to dispute that but you obviously know other cases.

Serenster · 16/11/2021 13:15

It may well be the CSSF’s biggest fine (they are the Luxembourg regulator). With the greatest of respect to the CSSF, though, that’s not saying much Grin Grin

Roussette · 16/11/2021 13:21

OK.

I stand corrected.
As I say, I was only repeating what I read from what I considered to be a reputable source, i.e. Bloomberg.

But it doesn't take away from the fact that PA has closely aligned himself with this Bank and was promoting it whilst on Trade Envoy missions to various parts of the world.
Which was really what my post was about. Not varying degrees of fines for money laundering.

Serenster · 16/11/2021 13:27

Yes, I completely agree with the main thrust of your post!

Is this headline for real?
Is BoJo' sister for real?

WTF? The whole Johnson clan are moral vacuums

Roussette · 17/11/2021 20:38

I know rubics

Sometimes I think the revolting Johnsons do this sort of stuff to wind us up.

upinaballoon · 17/11/2021 20:41

I have given due consideration to the allegations and sentences which I have read here and in other places and I have come to a conclusion of what happened. The prince went to the pizza parlour at late tea-time/ early evening. Then he went home and got a wash and put clean socks on. He went to the night club. Paul Burrell was there, dressed as a barmaid, and in the pay of a combination of HMTQ, Mossad, the CIA and MI6. He spiked the prince's drink, with that date-rape stuff which means people can't remember what happened. The prince danced with the trafficked person and they departed and took part in sexual activity of one sort or another. She said it was disgusting and he said, "Thank you." He went home but did not remember anything about the time after his drink was spiked. Everyone is telling the truth.
Will I be put into prison for flippancy?

CathyorClaire · 17/11/2021 20:47

DM also had a pity piece (Sarah Vine) on Maxwell on Sunday.

It's beginning to smell like a rat and it's not the one in her cell.

Roussette · 17/11/2021 20:53

This is interesting. And quite right.

www.reuters.com/world/us/ghislaine-maxwell-loses-bid-bar-psychologist-testifying-sex-crimes-trial-2021-11-10/

'Ghislaine Maxwell on Wednesday lost her bid to exclude a psychologist who has studied the "grooming" of sexual crimes victims from testifying at her upcoming trial.'

Cathy There's pictures all over of the current editor of the Daily Mail and Ghislaine looking very friendly

Angry

I wonder if they're gearing up for a 'shock' acquittal or massively reduced sentence for singing her dark little heart out?

Roussette · 17/11/2021 21:06

I wonder what is going to happen... the victims are very brave, they will have everything thrown at them by the defence

CathyorClaire · 17/11/2021 21:09

But. Interesting she has lost yet another bid to exclude people or terminology from the trial.

@Roussette -the current editor of the Daily Mail is no more - stepping down as of the end of this week, to be replaced by the editor of the Mail on Sunday. Connected? Food for thought, at any rate….
Roussette · 17/11/2021 21:36

Hmmm that's interesting, I need to dig and delve on that.

DuncinToffee · 17/11/2021 22:51

It might be more to do with the sleaze u-turn, Cox and brexit

Yes DM calling out Johnson and the sleaze deffo

rubicscubicle · 20/11/2021 18:01

So Andrew, who was friends with Maxwell, but not Epstein as he put it, has his picture displayed at Epstein's lair.

Roussette · 20/11/2021 20:09

@rubicscubicle

Interesting. But don't we know PA visited all of JE's properties. New York, Palm Beach, New Mexico, his caribbean island, and he went on holiday with him on a yacht in Thailand (there are pics!)

But of course PA says in his carcrash interview he wasn't that friendly with him ... yeah right....

StormzyinaTCup · 20/11/2021 20:32

Epstein also has this beauty hanging in a room at one of his houses 😮

Trial is going to be interesting, I'm not sure if GM is going to sing though.

CathyorClaire · 21/11/2021 20:21

Not so subtle reference to 'that' dress?

The Andrew photo raises a few questions. It appears to be some sort of official event so did he present it to JE sleb style? Given his ocean going ego we can't preclude that but it's equally possible it's just a run of the mill royal gong lobbing that JE has lifted in a trophy showcasing.

Either way it's illuminating and not in a good way.
