The royal family

In what capacity are Harry and Meghan visiting New York

IsabelBeck · 25/09/2021 10:20

They are no longer working members of the Royal Family so have they gone to New York as private citizens?

How do they get to meet with Chelsea Clinton at the WHO offices and UN officials and politicians?

According to the Mail (I know, I know) they had federal protection.

Do Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (as they are styled there) have much clout in the US? Why?

Jason Knauf was the direct channel to Dan Wootton who is another Camilla.

It's early and for a moment I thought you meant Parker-Bowles @Roussette 😆

Washeduponthebeach · 03/10/2021 08:28

@Serenster

Just as a comment here really, I cannot imagine that any details will be published, irrespective of the outcomes. This is an internal investigation, not an employment tribunal, and all parties are entitled to have this matter resolved privately.

If any actions were taken as a result of the investigation, I think it more likely those would be announced. If anyone is holding out for any juicy details though - I think that is highly unlikely.

Agree with this.

Could well be for all we know Annunciata

AnnunciataZ · 03/10/2021 08:33

Now I can't shake the image of Dan wandering around Clarence House in a blonde wig, fag in one hand and tumbler of whisky in the other!

Roussette · 03/10/2021 08:45

🤣😂
I think it might be a secret crush! He's very vocal that Camilla (Duchess not Tominey haha) should not be Queen!

Viviennemary · 03/10/2021 09:56

On the subject of the bullying investigations why has the palace not come out and said this investigation will be going no further and is dropped. Rather than vague references to some report being published in 2022. Roussette I think you genuinely believe the allegations have been dropped and I tend to think now you are probably right. But should the palace not have announced this very clearly rather leave a lot of folk thinking they are still ongoing.

Surely, that is the point.

Leave a question mark ongoing in people's minds. Have everyone still go on accusing MM of being a bully.

Roussette · 03/10/2021 10:22

I just think, yes the claims have been dropped. No, the Palace has not put out a statement. Will there be mention of it again? No. That is wrong as rubics says. I imagine the RF are too busy Andrew firefighting.

Yes if it has been dropped an announcement should have been made. Typical Palace behaviour.

'Oh come on. We all roll our eyes at those kind of parent comments/ brags.“His first word was hydrate” Even if one of my nearest and dearest told me this, my eyes would take a week to come back to their original position.'

Exactly. Any parent that says such guff as 'his first word was hydrate' deserves any mocking they get. Isn't Tominey a royal correspondent for the Telegraph or similar? so therefore from a litigation point of view she can't just make shit up. Like the Sussexes do.

BeckyWithTheAverageHair · 03/10/2021 12:00

Did Meghan actually say his first word was hydrate?

SueSaid · 03/10/2021 12:00

'Typical palace behaviour' 🙄

But if it has been dropped the media would leak it, or certainly the Sussexes would announce it via CNN/podcast/Netflix or something. Perhaps there is still stuff going on, you know private and confidential stuff?!

Haz did on the Oprah tell all chat show, the one where they breached the RF's privacy and made unsubstantiated allegations. Doing everything they criticise others for doing.
BeckyWithTheAverageHair · 03/10/2021 12:09

Hmm, a quick Google reveals she said his favourite words were "hydrate" and "drive safe". Big deal. Kids pick up what they hear. DN used to always announce "we've reached our final destination" at the end of car journeys as she got used to hearing it on GPS.

smilesy · 03/10/2021 12:17

Harry said Archie’s first word was “crocodile”. Harry said that during the James Cordern interview.

Roussette · 03/10/2021 12:18

I daren't post on here about my youngest and what she said one day out the blue and kept saying. I'd be called a show off!

It's just another stick to beat her with. Very low blow to do it via a little child though

OliviaBean · 03/10/2021 12:28

I agree with a lot of what you say Rousette and I understand you hate bullying. I hate bullying, I was bullied in secondary school. I agree with you re PA, that M&H are treated unfairly by the media etc.

However I feel you would get less grief if you didn't look at everything M&H do on the basis that they are being bullied, that their actions have to be defended because you hate bullying, it skews the very logical points you do have. Sometimes they are foolish, sometimes your defence is illogical, at least to me.

Just my tuppence worth, I find your posts very informative and I admire that you bring balance to what is often a witch hunt on M&H.

Oh it’s nobby behaviour. We all know it’s nobby behaviour. I’m sure we’re all guilty of doing it too. That doesn’t negate the fact that it definitely warrants eye-rolling and a knowing smirk.
Samcro · 03/10/2021 12:29

maybe Archie is G&T.

Roussette · 03/10/2021 12:32

@OliviaBean

Thank you and I certainly will take on board what you say.
Fair comments like yours are always read and noted

derxa · 03/10/2021 12:38

@Samcro

maybe Archie is G&T.
Maybe. But it's very unlikely that a child's first word is a clearly articulated 'hydrate' with all the consonant sounds produced. Anyway- does it really matter. They're clearly proud of him and love them and that's all that matters.
AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 03/10/2021 12:49

It’s in a similar spirit to this. I defy anyone to get through this interview without and eye roll, scoff or “FFS”

thats my point. he might be a brilliant child, or they are just proud parents of their PFB..... yet people berate them for being just like the rest of us.

derxa · 03/10/2021 13:03

thats my point. he might be a brilliant child, or they are just proud parents of their PFB..... yet people berate them for being just like the rest of us. But the rest of keep that sort of thing for proud grandparents. Other parents just don't want to hear it. Hardly the crime of the century though.
