They are no longer working members of the Royal Family so have they gone to New York as private citizens?

How do they get to meet with Chelsea Clinton at the WHO offices and UN officials and politicians?

According to the Mail (I know, I know) they had federal protection.

Do Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (as they are styled there) have much clout in the US? Why?

I think Bill de Blasio was asked by Ken Sunshine to do his clients a favour, yes. Was there a benefit to him in doing so, other than keeping in with a donor? That’s not so clear.

And Bill de Baisio could have said no. The same for Linda Thomas Greenfield, Amina Mohamed and anyone else they met. They are all busy individuals after all, I am sure they don't just meet any ol person they are asked to.

And I see posters on here are avoiding mentioning that H&M donated 25K towards Melba's employee relief fund.

And yes they brought their own cameras, wether it's for Netflix or not. They are not going to have the DM show them in dodgy angles (like the time they said it was inappropriate for her to kiss a student's cheek, only to have one of the students sitting on the other side show her own footage and there was no kiss) or put up dodgy subtitles when they cannot hear like they did with Disney (where the CEO's wife could not hear standing right next to H&M, but the British media 'heard' across the room).

People donate money to politicians and political parties (and to Prince Charles’ charities!) on the basis that they’ll be able to ask for favours in return. And in turn that’s why people pay huge amounts to Sunshine Sachs - they have the network and the traction to open doors that their clients couldn’t open by themselves.

It looks like Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General, said no to meeting them by the way. Both Omid Scobie and Reuters tweeted that the couple were visiting the UN to meet with him, then had to issue a correction after it turned out that they met his Deputy instead.

So the mayor could have sent one of his officials - maybe in senior management, that's what public servants usually do.

UNSG office usually have their diaries booked up in advance, I am surprised that his deputy even had the time, I would have thought they would send one of the management.

They clearly thought they were meeting with him though, if they gave the details to Omid to tweet out.

Because they are famous and wanted to lend their names to good causes? If you had a public profile and loads of money, wouldn't you want to try and help other people a bit?

Surely, if H&M tried to book him, they would have been told he is unavailable seeing it's the UN General Assembly in NY 21-27 September.

I mean it's not a issue but that's the tactic here. Many top US celebrities are political donors and supporters. Think it's just the done thing.

so why do UK media and MN get so irate as if M&H are the first and committing a criminal offence and add all the personal insults if that is how the system works for other high profiles?

Yes it is amusing to see so many excuses - I think the most plausible is that H&M felt their "truth" wouldn't be corrected and challenged by the people at UN. I really don't believe that Scobie and Reuters did got their info wrong from any other source than from the horse's mouth etc.

It's that living experiement of trying to fool people in plain sight aka as their particular "PR" style. Act as if you've got the job you want, not the job you have etc.

H&M have not been challenged too much to date on any of their "truths" have they? They've not been asked to put out a correct statement regarding their incorrect information ie. Archbishop had to do it himself etc.

Maybe the start of some of H&M's "truth" being challenged now the UN have asked H&M to politely instruct Scobie to put the correct information out there rather than what H&M would have liked to have happened re. being seen equal to Queen of Netherlands.

They are acting then as King and Queen of the USA because they can't get the job they really wanted. King and Queen of the UK. Its all becoming clearer. We'll have to see how that plays out.

I've got no personal dislike for them. I don't think they are committing a "crime"

I am entitled to question and form an opinion though.

Would I like them as a close friend, no, they don't lend themselves to the value of "trust" in my opinion. Do I think they are amazing people, no, not in my opinion. It all seems a bit of a circus and show parade. Am I jealous of them, certainly not. It's not a lifestyle I have ever craved or wanted. When my life exploded in to newspapers, I hated it I felt exposed and scared. The social media comments relating to my life was horrific and I hated it. So I can empathise with them in that point. But I made sure to stay quiet best I could, let it pass and bury itself which it did. Because I've no want or need to sit on a sofa with Phill and Holly and discuss it. We gave out one carefully drafted press release with the help of the MOD and shut it down. The press outlets stopped hounding me for "my story" then of which they offered thousands but I just couldn't do it. But everyone's different.

But meeting with Deputy sec is not that very hard ,

she meets with lots of low profile people on daily basis, she participated in global citizen party too, so I think their meeting is related to that.

Im curious to know about the cost of parties like global citizen do they generate enough money to cover costs ? Or is it just for fun? As I’ve read donations for vaccines are coming through rich countries who have been donating vaccines regardless of concerts or not

Queen Maxima WAS at the UN General Assembly, she was presenting him with the annual report.

Yes we all know that Queen Maxima was visiting the UN and had an entirely different set of meetings and reception than H&M.

The H&M info to Scobie and Reuters was that H&M had received the same meeting as Queen Maxima. They didn't and were required to correct that bit of misinformation via Scobie they met with the junior staff member who meets with people like H&M.

H&M wish to make their name appear in the same sentence as Queen Maxima and hope to give the impression of importance that some will fall for....won't mention any names.

They're not representing anyone other than themselves and they didn't receive the same access and reception as Queen Maxima.

One untruth corrected, just a good few more to go - at least the UN have shown they won't keep quiet to play pretend with H&M. Bit like candid camera this H&M show with Netflix I'd imagine

Don't know where you got your information that they were going to the General Assembly like Queen Maxima, who was part of that delegation.

They went to the UN offices, and the next senior person after the SG is his deputy, which is who they met. Obviously Scobie and Ruiters would have assumed it was the SG himself if they were not aware that he is away at the GA.

yes that's right, H&M were not ever going anywhere near the UN assembly. I don't know what you're struggling with though - H&M invited by the mayor ....at same time as the UN assembly to New York to lecture at a concerns with some confused and ill-informed comments about vaccines.

Can you anot see a PR storyboard sweeping in front of their eyes as to how it will play out for their Netflix etc.....how much more important than they actually are? "Talking to world leaders" they say in their vaccine lecture? Hmm world leaders that are ill-informed on vaccines too - H&M want it to look as if the UN are talking to them about how to solve this and that etc.

Lots will miss the detail and assume H&M were involved in the UN assembly.

Not to mention Scobie and Reuters happy to print (ie. from the horse's mouth - there will be no and I say for emphasis NO way Reuters would have printed that incorrectly). It will have been from representatives of H&M they heard it. You do realise that surely?
