So cute, love the photos of him at Wembley.
Especially the one of him hugging his Mum in excitement. Despite their wealth/ privilege they do seem to be a ‘normal’ family.
Wasn’t too fussed on Kate’s red earrings, though.

@FuckyDoodleDoo

Pretty sure our esteemed leader Boris Johnson was wearing a football shirt in the royal box. 🤔

I didn't see Boris at all

Geamhradh · 12/07/2021 10:17

Blimey, just seen the earrings. I'm not one to criticise Kate's choices, she usually looks impeccable but they look like something her 4 year old made at school and she wore them to please the child.

853ax · 12/07/2021 10:19

I think it b us a way to help him adjust to the life of working Royal, he can always go to some other Football games as a supporter but England in a final will always be work for him.
No point dressing him like any other children there for the fun as he not like them and will never have same freedom. Needs to adapt to this from a young age.

PurpleRainDancer · 12/07/2021 10:20

Our royals?
Suited and booted, stony faced and looking totally disinterested in one another.

What a bizarre interpretation, they look like a warm and loving family @brittleheadgirl

brittleheadgirl · 12/07/2021 10:22

@Mycatcontrolsmymovements

I think George really wanted to wear the same as his dad and thats why he was wearing a suit
Do you know him? What a ridiculous thing to say, you literally have zero idea if your comment is true.

The delusion of a royalist is always amusing to read, albeit slightly disturbing at times.

MotionActivatedDog · 12/07/2021 10:23

Maybe through your 'I ❤️ the royals' rose tinted spectacles?

How predictable. MN is such a black and white place. I don’t ❤️ The royals at all. I’m not even English. If you knew me in RL you’d be howling at the thought of what you just said. However I have eyes and I watched the match and I didn’t see what you claim to have seen. Do you understand that it’s possible to just say what you see without it meaning you’re in love with the people you’re talking about? If I said I didn’t like kates earrings it wouldn’t mean I hate the royals either Wink

spinningspaniels · 12/07/2021 10:23

I'd imagine it's pretty tough trying to be a "normal" family when the world media is pointed towards you...........

He needs to get used to events where he is "on show", they were right to take him and start preparing the poor wee lad for life in the goldfish bowl.

TheFoundations · 12/07/2021 10:24

I saw them jumping up and down, screaming their heads off, and hugging each other after Shaw's goal.

Just because you didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. You'll look silly if you keep saying that they were stony faced, because A LOT of people saw otherwise.

CallmeHendricks · 12/07/2021 10:25

@brittleheadgirl, People see and interpret what they are looking for. Confirmation bias, if you like.
You wish to see 'evidence' to confirm your view that they were stiff, formal and disinterested. Others saw them having a good time.

SnottyLottie · 12/07/2021 10:25

Tbf Boris was in the same box (slightly front and right of them) wearing a football shirt. He was the only one wearing one in the box. He looked proper scruffy in comparison to everyone else 😆 Even Carrie was wearing a smart blazer.

LizzieSiddal · 12/07/2021 10:26

Boris Johnson was sat next to Kathrine. He looked totally idiotic with his football shirt over his actual suit shirt. Why anyone would ever vote for this embarrassment of a person, is beyond me.

Warm and loving? They look disinterested in one another and stiff and awkward. Any public displays of affection look so horribly awkward and unfortunately the warmth and smiles of all the other families in the stadium, just highlighted this further.

Ah well, I'm sure their enormous wealth and privilege takes the edge off for them Grin

Mycat literally provided a link to an article stating this was what happened. Now I am aware that OK magazine doesn't have the highest level of journalism ever but I imagine they must check their sources.

Jocasta2018 · 12/07/2021 10:28

They could've given him a England flag to wave if wearing an England shirt is against the dress code in the Royal Box!

onlyhereforthecake · 12/07/2021 10:28

It was so lovely to see him be allowed to act like a 7 year old.

good for him to be given the chance to watch the match thousands of little boys would have loved to watch on site too.

It couldn't be made clearer that he's growing in a life of luxury and privileges so far away from any 7 year old... Panto at Christmas - when most of the ones in the country where shut - box for the final and the list goes on.

Loving the insistence of him wearing a suit to show how far remote he is from us the plebs. We do know, I am sure he does too.

it's funny how the royals stay very private on all details BUT the few that are "leaked" to the press to boost their PR - or completely made up by the fans who haven't got a clue what happens behind their doors.

"I think George really wanted to wear the same as his dad and thats why he was wearing a suit"
Confused

Where on earth are you getting that from? Bizarre

IcedPurple · 12/07/2021 10:32

How many threads have there been about a 7 year old's attire?

He's not just a little boy. He's a future king and he was there as the son of the President of the FA, and was in the VIP box. I doubt he cared that he was wearing a suit. He may even have wanted to be like dad.

As for his parents looking formal and disinterested, from the limited amount the cameras showed them I didn't see that at all. William was clearly delighted at first and devastated at the end, and you could see George hugging both his parents. But I guess people see what they want to see.

fakeplantsdontlookreal · 12/07/2021 10:33

I saw a shot of William rubbing George's back, and tried to rewind it to pause it as I thought it was sweet, but it wasn't there, this was live Sky, so I think they immediately cut it/removed it from the feed, which is right, especially if idiots are now trolling the photo.

William, Kate and George all seemed to be enjoying it, William was animatedly discussing who the thought would take the penalties, and Kate hugged George at one point. They have to behave a certain way in public, but I think they look like a normal loving family.

I presume Boris must have been doing some official stuff because he had his football shirt on over his white office shirt, although the other night, he just had the football shirt on.

PerveenMistry · 12/07/2021 10:33

@HullIsWorseThanHell

Wonder why they felt they had to stick the poor kid in a shirt and tie though. Can't have been comfortable
What's wrong with appropriate dress? God, not everyone lives their life in elastic-waist clothing.
JudgeRindersMinder · 12/07/2021 10:33

@PomegranateQueen

ParsleyDill

Most kids his age would pop a suit on for the opportunity to watch England from the Royal box. At my DS school DCs have to wear a shirt and clip on tie every day from year 3.

At my kids’ primary it,s shirt and proper tie from day 1-although I do think clip ones are a safer option for youngsters.

I did read that P George wanted to be dressed the same as daddy, but don’t let that get in the way of a good royal bash eh

Can you not see the smiling, cheering and hugging family in these photos? Why are you insisting that this didn't happen, when millions of people saw it?

onlyhereforthecake · 12/07/2021 10:35

I saw them jumping up and down, screaming their heads off, and hugging each other after Shaw's goal.

They HAD to be. Whatever they do in front of the cameras is always for show, one way or another. Apart from Charlotte having a small tantrum when she was tiny possibly.

When you remember Will and Harry following their mother's coffin, but having to show a brave and somber face and nothing else...like them or not, the royals are severely trained not to show any private emotion when in the public eye.
