To think Prince Harry should give up his titles?

Let’s face it, he has suffered immensely being born into the most famous and privileged family in the world. His titles were bestowed solely due to the family he was born into with the expectation that he would be a ‘working’ member of that family in return for the privilege and unfathomably (to us plebs) luxurious lifestyle he enjoyed (or not as he says now).

He has thankfully escaped his gilded cage and is no longer a working member of the family, in fact he has completely trashed that institution and in doing so also the Head of it, his Grandmother, the Queen while her husband of 73 years was ill in hospital and dying.

As he has suffered so much due to the public interest of his life (interest purely due to his title) by the public and the media so much, shouldn’t he just jack it all in and decree that he is no longer ‘Royal’ by giving up his titles and living quietly in the US with his family?

I think we should abolish the whole royal family and they should all lose their titles. If the rest of them get to keep theirs I think it would a little spiteful to take away Harry’s.

Where members of the Royal Family have given up their place in the line of succession, their titles have remained. One of the things considered to be an insult to the late Princess of Wales was that after her divorce from the Prince of Wales (Charles), HRH was removed.

As for Harry and Meghan....I'm honestly so sick of hearing about them and allowing them to invade my headspace so much. Wish tge press would simply ignore them.

Oh FFS, no! Even keeping it down to what Harry said about his family, it's nowhere near the pasting Charles gave them back in the day and no one's whining about him not giving up his status seeing as he was open about how much he hates everyone and everything.

I think H&M have been exploited so many times to take the heat off other RF members and everyone falls for it. What have they actually done except seemingly be honest given recent revelations? And now I'm feeling the need to defend people I have only contempt for as members of an anachronistic institution!

Everybody's family is dysfunctional some are just better at hiding it than others. I do find it interesting when people say they slagged off the Queen though. They didn't throw dirt on the Queen's name once during that Oprah interview I remember her gushing about how lovely the Queen was to her and sharing her blanket in the back of the car. But the level of hate H&M get for dating to piss off the press compared to Andrew who's just kept his head down. If only he'd kept his head down beforehand and not visited a convicted sex offenders island the FBI wouldn't want a chat with him.

The fact that Andrew isn’t plastered all over the media shows the palace are more than capable of controlling headlines, and should have and could have done more for Harry and Meghan.

H&M are slightly stuck though as they need the publicity to make money but can't stand any negative press. Negative press comes with the territory. I wouldn't use the titles if I saw any of them, it's anachronistic.

I think Harry should remain Prince as he was born a prince, but all other titles should be removed as they've nothing to to with the uk now. I also think as they're using it to cash in it's not on, they're ac try ally disgraceful in their corporate use of the titles - god only knows what the poor queen thinks of her rogue grandson and his puppet master cashing in on a dear name given with love to her as a child - if it was my family I'd be very ashamed of them

Not arsed about his royal titles, I do get (irrationally) annoyed when he feels because he has served in the military he deserves to keep those titles regardless of leaving the RF and his duties. He is a veteran like thousands (millions?) of others, but thats not good enough for him. At least he isn't homeless, desperately seeking MH support for conditions exasperated in the military that has a waitlist of years, no lifelong physical injuries that he cannot afford the adaptions for, the list goes on like many veterans are. He was shoehorned into a prestige and highly competitive role, that actually caused more issues in terms of security than if he hadn't gone, yet his tantrum about it suggests he did it for reasons other than wanting to serve his country, as he claims.
