Harry and Megan have just announced their new baby's name.

What's everyone's thoughts?

By that I mean using the queen's nickname not the use of Diana

eurochick · 06/06/2021 17:08

Wasn't Lillibet Philip's pet name for the Queen. It feels... wrong.

Diana was inevitable.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 06/06/2021 17:09

It’s not a name though - the queens pet name. Maybe trying to appease grandma?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/06/2021 17:09

I think its quite attention seeking to use a family pet name and not her actual proper name

CandyLeBonBon · 06/06/2021 17:09

@osbertthesyrianhamster

Wants to make sure she doesn't strip the duchess titles and cut him out of her will. What a chap!
Wtaf?
toffeebutterpopcorn · 06/06/2021 17:09

My sisters pet name was Bill...

sweetkitty · 06/06/2021 17:09

I feel sorry for Doria they could have honoured her somewhere too

Nahhh · 06/06/2021 17:09

Lovely name but they could’ve given her the most beautiful name ever and people would’ve found a reason to criticise.

Stimmt!

The reaching people do just to criticise

MoChridhe · 06/06/2021 17:10

Beautiful names. Love Lilibet more than Elizabeth

Exactly
Wakeupin2022 · 06/06/2021 17:10

Congratulations to the both on the birth of a lively daughter.

But why name after someone you have been attacking repeatedly either directly or indirectly?

More attention seeking?

JulietBravo999 · 06/06/2021 17:10

It should be Lilibet with only one L in the middle, that’s how the Queen spelt it.

Lili for short apparently, goes well with Archie.

SemperIdem · 06/06/2021 17:10

Lilibet is a bit naff as a given name. However Archie and Lili (as they have announced she’ll be known) work well as sibling names.

TokyoSushi · 06/06/2021 17:10

I'm just going to say congratulations on a safe arrival, lovely news!

ShanghaiDiva · 06/06/2021 17:11

Lillibet is fine for a child, but not for an adult imo.
Prefer Lily Diana.

sashagabadon · 06/06/2021 17:11

It’s quite sweet

toffeebutterpopcorn · 06/06/2021 17:11

I did kind of hope for Doria. But I guess they would also want to use Diana and that wouldn’t sound right.

SirVixofVixHall · 06/06/2021 17:11

Lilibet ? Blimey the cheek of that. It is the Queen’s pet name.

sunnyblackwidow · 06/06/2021 17:11

What a lovely name and a such nice way to honour the queen........an even better way to honour the queen would've been NOT slag off her family in the media 🤔

I personally don’t like Lilibet. But I was reluctant to say that because I don’t want to be accused of being someone who was going to dislike the name whatever it was. Which really isn’t the case.
I really like Lili though.
