Harry and Megan have just announced their new baby's name.

What's everyone's thoughts?

@Derbee

Pair of absolute walkers
🤣🤣
dorangme · 06/06/2021 22:27

@Roussette dont forgot the size of baby vs the size of her bump.

Coronateachingagain · 06/06/2021 22:27

@MaBroon21

Lovely names but there is only one Lilibet and that’s the Queen.

It would have been more respectful to not have given the baby the name.

Exactly and the Queen and Charles will see through all of these moves
PinkTonic · 06/06/2021 22:27

Using the Queen’s pet name instead of her actual name is in poor taste, especially in the circumstances. Lili goes perfectly with Archie Harrison. Lily is a nice name.

Roussette · 06/06/2021 22:27

If that's the case dorangme why didn't I give birth to a baby elephant?!

Blossomtoes · 06/06/2021 22:28

@Itreallyistimetochangethings

It must be nice for H&M to do things in their own time and not at the beck and call of the UK media. She would have been trotted out for photos a couple of hours after giving birth had she been here.
She wasn’t when she had Archie. Nor has the Duchess of Cambridge. 🤷‍♀️
@JaniieJones, bear this is mind: The Queen hasn’t complained. Why are you losing sleep over this? Do you really know what the relationship is between the Queen and Harry? The little that has been revealed seems to suggest they are close. But who knows.

One thing I can bet on; if the Queen had to choose between you and her grandson and her great granddaughter, I’m pretty sure she would tell you to go to hell.

So worry about your family and let these royal worry about theirs. Stop allowing yourself to be led by the media. You really know nothing about these people and the true nature of their relationships. Spend your energy in yours.
your post sounds quite extreme with 'go to hell' and etc. are you ok?

SueSaid · 06/06/2021 22:29

'Why are you losing sleep over this?'

I'm not losing sleep over it 🙄. It's been on the news. HTH.

It's lovely to use family names. Not so much to cause great distress to the family member immediately prior to using their name of course,

Well said!! Wine

@Roussette

Lilibet is NOT a made up name. It's well known in the US. It's been said before on this thread.
@Rousette. I’m British living in the US ( for several years) and I can honestly say that I’ve never heard Lilibert used as a name over here. That absolutely doesn’t mean it’s never used- I don’t all know the 300 million-plus people living here 🤣. I wouldn’t describe it as a well-known name though.

I’ve only ever associated it with the Queen as her childhood nickname. I’m sure HMQ isn’t bothered that H & M have chosen it for their daughter as PP’s have said. She probably just wants to repair family relationships at this point (not likely to happen any time soon though).

@OVienna

Maybe they originally went for Navy-Lee but got cold feet when the thread ended up in the Mirror?
yeah i remember that Navy lee thread.
Dongdingdong · 06/06/2021 22:30

Little Lili was 7lb 11oz, a good weight for someone with Meghan's frame.

Strange comment. The mother’s “frame” has nothing to do with the birthweight Confused

I’m not keen on the name Lilibet personally. It sounds far too much like a child’s nickname or made up word (not surprising since that’s what it is). It’s also very personal to the Queen - if they wanted to honour Harry’s grandmother I think Elizabeth would have been better. I very much like Diana as a middle name though.

Anyway, the main thing is their baby has arrived healthy and safe and mother and child are home and doing well. Congratulations!

How do you know they caused great distress? You don't get to say they shouldn't use family names, it's up to the family & you're not in it.

bentleydrummle · 06/06/2021 22:30

Lily is nice imo. Elizabeth is nice. Lilibet is CRINGE CENTRAL.

she was and so was Kate and Diane before that !!

bluebell34567 · 06/06/2021 22:31

voow this thread going so fast. everyone was bored i think. Grin

SueSaid · 06/06/2021 22:32

'How do you know they caused great distress?'

Oh yes I'm sure the Oprah chat show was all one big lol for the Queen.

@Dongdingdong It is NOT a 'made up word', it's actually a REAL name.

Perhaps she was distracted by keeping Andrew away from the FBI

Moonwhite · 06/06/2021 22:33

It's very sweet. Some of you perhaps need to remember that you are not party to Harry's relationship with his grandmother.

And some of you - I hope you eventually develop an interest in your own lives, because you sound embarrassingly over involved in the lives of these strangers and whatever the tabloids are spoon feeding you.

Itreallyistimetochangethings · 06/06/2021 22:34

I'm sure HM
Is happy with the name and even happier her great granddaughter has arrived safely. Only Meghan can rack up 1k posts in 4-5 hours Grin
