Now being reported in the Daily Express that Harry is working on a new tell all documtary about royal life. This is according to his biographer Angela Levin. And even more disclosures about the royal family are forthcoming. Is this going to go on for years. We shall have to wait and sed. I think its very very wrong of him.

I expect the problem is he has been strictly limited in what he can say to the press all his life so he has never managed to develop an inner gauge for what is appropriate. So now he’s off the leash he is just splurging everything out because it seems like a good idea at the time.

Marmaladeagain · 17/05/2021 17:07

Ok thanks Riguer = good advice I'll not engage - not been on these threads last year etc with the chequered history and not aware of their habits etc will not engage/defend just take the misrepresentation of my posts and accusations of racism in the manner I initially did and go back to ignoring. Best advice as you say.

Though not sure why that counts as reasonable posting by MN if it continues on and on as getting a bit silly accusing me of things I haven't said due to picking and choosing bits - I guess a bit like having our very own tabloid editor on the thread cutting and pasting awful headlines [shocked] [grin

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 17/05/2021 17:07

I saw a programme which described Jonny Spencer, Diana's father, as 'thick as the aristocracy can get'. Maybe Harry is more Spencer than Windsor.

Marmaladeagain · 17/05/2021 17:07

Shock should I say...

Marmaladeagain · 17/05/2021 17:13

oh by the way, MN have said it's ok for me to confirm what they informed me : there is no evidence of sock puppets any of these threads. So I guess that discussion is closed now, but I'll zip my mouth properly.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 17/05/2021 17:14

To me, he seems like someone in need of wise counsel from an old friend or family member, someone who cares about him, understands him, isn't afraid to be candid and genuinely wishes to help him cultivate his best qualities.

ajandjjmum · 17/05/2021 17:20

And someone with no hidden agenda.

StormzyinaTCup · 17/05/2021 17:58

👍🏻Thanks for the update Marmalade

IrmaFayLear · 17/05/2021 18:00

It made me a bit cross when he confused the Commonwealth with the Empire. It was his job to know this, surely? And now wading in on the First Amendment...

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 17/05/2021 18:02

Outwiththeoutcrowd but who has he got? Most people who would fit that bill are from his 'old' life and he probably isn't in a place to listen.

Blossomtoes · 17/05/2021 18:05

He hasn’t got a job and that’s the entire problem, I think. If only he’d stayed in the army, he was good at his job and happy there with an infrastructure to keep him grounded. He’s the classic case of the devil making work for idle hands.

Not sure how open he is to this kind of thing, from his reported reaction to William's advice about taking plenty of time with Meghan.

JADS · 17/05/2021 18:07

When did Harry confuse Commonwealth and Empire Confused?

I don't understand at all what he is trying to say about the 1st amendment either.

When I listen to a podcast, I tend to listen to well researched ones, mostly history. I had been wavering about listening to Harry's one, but sounds like I was right to pass. 90 minutes is bloody long for a sensible podcast.

smilesy · 17/05/2021 18:16

@JADS I think that was last year sometime when he said something about Britain confronting its racist past in the commonwealth or so emerging along those lines. It was around the time of BLM.

A sabbatical in an African orphanage...just why ?

Military re-hab ?? He is ex military so can see the link

But the African orphanage ..... a continent of so much than any problems within yet reduced to so little

Surly this is a road travelled previously

Object by all means to that which he is doing now but please don’t such therefore his next option should be as a saviour

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/05/2021 18:40

JADS I believe his suggestion was that the Commonwealth should atone for its colonialist past, though will try to find a transcript

The point, of course, is that colonialism was a problem with the Empire; I don't suppose the Commonwealth is faultless, but I'd never heard it accused of this until Harry's reported comments

OverByYer · 17/05/2021 18:40

That trailer looks awful, like when people film themselves crying.
All seems very self indulgent.

It’s good to encourage people to talk another their MH but how many times can Harry keep talking about himself?
It really is starting to look like he’s cashing in on his mother’s death now, very distasteful

JADS · 17/05/2021 18:47

Thank you. How embarrassing for him.

JADS · 17/05/2021 18:49

Also I'm guessing he didn't make any suggestions how to atone or offer to part with his own wealth to help out...

Summercocktailsinthesnow · 17/05/2021 18:50

I am going to put this in a different way. Using your mother's funeral for your latest campaign is really really very upsetting, and I can't imagine how the rest of the royal family, particularly William feels it being used in this way.

It is no wonder it is openly being discussed that H&M will have their titles stripped now.

CallmeHendricks · 17/05/2021 18:51

Or his own contribution to a "Natives and Colonials" party, by way of his costume?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/05/2021 18:55

A clip of Harry as a child at Diana funeral and hints of him spilling more royal secrets are in the 3 minute trailer for (The Apple TV show) too

TBF this is only to be expected; it's how they pull in the viewers, knowing they'd be far fewer without the tantalising possibility of more "secrets" being spilled

I suppose Harry could have instructed that this bit didn't appear, but it's not hard to imagine how that would have gone down among those with their eyes on the £££

Blossomtoes · 17/05/2021 18:55

The piece I read speculated that there’s no possibility of removing their titles because it would just trigger more criticism of the royal family from them. They seem - God knows how - to be sticking with the least said, soonest mended, high moral ground strategy.

CallmeHendricks · 17/05/2021 19:08

I do actually think that's the best policy, on balance. Can you just imagine the outcry?
