Positive thread on Meghan again

Now that at the other knock off MN chat has been shut down, we seem to have an influx of those posters on here with new or encouraged accounts.

For those who are not interested in trawling through negative post after the other. You can come on here for positive news about Meghan and Harry.

Why not, everyone else seems to be viewed positively, without 'cynicism'. I don't mind taking this at snail pace, we just post on the good things about H&M, they sure seem to be doing a lot of that lately, and it's really buried under the negativity on MN.

@Roussette

And yet DoC 'project' has some of you sneering

Not me. Brilliant book.
Wrong thread title.

However, I get accused of whataboutery continually... that's what this is.

so true, the title was so wrong. sad as the book looks good.
Roussette · 17/05/2021 11:49

Oh how true that is!

Lucaslucas1612 · 17/05/2021 11:52

@CallmeHendricks

I don't like how everything on this subject becomes so polarised, as if you "have" to be on one "side" or the other.

I don't hate the Sussexes at all. I think they have a huge amount to offer, both now and when they lived here. I look at footage of previous years when Harry used to do joint engagements with William and Kate and feel cheered by the (what I thought was) obvious warmth and affection between them all. And he was SO proud of Meghan when he first introduced her to us all, and I was pleased about that too. I think it is a huge shame that things have got to the state they have, and I am not optimistic that it can ever be truly resolved, to be honest.
But I want to be able to express my opinion on things they have done which I'm not impressed by without being collectively accused of being either a troll, a name-changer or a racist.

Here, here, totally agree.

Having the opinion that some of what happened was brought upon by their own actions doesn't make me a MM hater and some people can't seem to see that they definitely have some responsibility for what happened even if the press were very mean to her.

Especially H as he did thrust MM into the limelight very quickly, whatever the reasons, and in the situation they were in that is potentially going to cause more problems than a nice long period of boyfriend and girlfriend followed by a long engagement. Their situation wasn't a normal one and so perhaps the timeline needed to be adjusted accordingly. It's reported others advised H to slow down, didn't want a repeat of Diana and could see she wasn't prepared and needed to learn now but they continued their own way. They need to take some responsibility for these decisions, it's not everyone else's fault.

He didn't prepare her for it adequately and she didn't prepare herself either so this left her open to a press who are ready to find fault and mock any mistakes made. The same with the things they later did and said which are pure hypocrisy. There is no other way of looking at it. Much of negatively was created by their own actions and things they said. Fair enough, they wanted to speak out and stand up for their beliefs and promote certain charities, I throughly support this and at the beginning thought it was great that she was doing this, she was a breath of fresh air and could really make a change. But again in doing that you open yourself up to scrutiny and criticism as well as praise. You need to be prepared to take both sides, and they weren't and they aren't. The reason KM and PW don't get so much negative press and criticism is because they don't speak out their opinions as much, they stay neutral. As the RF always have. If you're going to go against the protocol and probably the advice from others, you are opening yourself up to negative press. You can't have it both ways.

Mummy194 · 17/05/2021 11:58

The reason KM and PW don't get so much negative press and criticism is because they are white.

There corrected that for you.

This thread has had enough of these lies and covering for KP.

'Don't speak out on opinions'? They are busy with anti-racism and help the MH as we speak. Yet you call them neutral, no opinions. Sell that nonsense on another thread. No one is buying that here !

Someone created a new account and put in a virus link into this thread. So , yes that is deranged af.

I think that was someone who set up an account for spamming purposes across the whole of MN not just on here?

No- absolutely not. You can't shut down any argument with that. It's very convenient. Anyone criticising them is a racist. No not acceptable. They get more criticism because of the colour of her skin- rubbish. They get more criticism for her actions and the way she voices her opinions. Unfortunately as there are no other RF members like her and she set the precedent there is no way of comparing her level of criticism to another person in the RF like her. Now if we could do that and they got the same unprecedented level of negative press then yes, maybe.
Lucaslucas1612 · 17/05/2021 12:16

But K and W don't say controversial things in the same way even when they speak out. They just don't normally and when KM said that she was finding home schooling exhausting on that zoom she got criticism like anyone else.

@Mummy194 That is exactly what I mean. What makes you think you can change peoples posts and put words into their mouths, making them look racist?
That is absolutely not on.

Hanidjed7 · 17/05/2021 13:33

@Mummy194 It is disgusting that you are basically calling anyone who does not like, or agree, with MM and PH racists!

It was the reason why I never bothered to post on 100s of other threads on this subject! It is sickening, and inciting racially hatred to be saying that.

I and several people on this thread have clearly said why they don't like her. We have a right to opinion on celebs/Royals who put themselves clearly out in the public domain; doing a podcast, and an interview with OW is putting themselves in the public.

I was happy for her, and thought she'd be great for the RF, breath of fresh air. I said earlier when it changed for me, I used to like PH, but he's dreadful now for enabling her or not helping her or not being truthful about RF life.

MY DISLIKE OF HER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HER SKIN COLOUR.

I'm going to contact @mumsnethq about how genuine users who have long been readers/watchers/users of mn feel threatened and scared to post for fear of being labelled a racist. I've only started posting now as I've had enough of it all and finally don't care.

ohforarainyday · 17/05/2021 13:34

It's hilarious watching the racist house of cards come tumbling down.

Mail on Sunday: absolutely creamed in court.

The Sun: on the verge of bankruptcy.

The RRs who participated in the "cash for lies" scandal video: publicly shamed and outed as liars.

Emily Andrews: fired.

Jason Knauf: Fired.

Melissa Touabti: Fired.

Meghan and Harry: Standing ovations of 40k people and $100million deals.

The revelation that the Mail on Sunday's lawyers accidentally CCd Meghan's lawyer into an email they wrote to Jason Knauf - an email revealing how much Jason was working with the Mail - and how Jason was subsequently forced to do an about face to avoid committing perjury and was then sacked from the fancy big bucks CEO job he got as a reward for leading the smear campaign against Meghan is sweet, sweet justice indeed.

Meghan just keeps winning! GrinGrinGrin

I think the title of the threads are the difference this is a positive thread as per the title

K has written a book appears to invite replies from all ... but does it

I write as response to that thread to say much as I like the idea in a first initial link ok just at the included photographs that the book just didn’t resonate with me ( with the exception of the can’t breath picture)

I didn’t feel I could include my take on it the tread feels policed so I didn’t

What I have to say is relevant but I have felt unable to comment.simply but cause I have been around long enough to know how these things go

Maybe the title should have stated it was a positive spin as does this one hence why the push back against the continued negativity.

We should all be able to reply as we see fit within the t&c but lots don’t works both ways

She bloody well did not. She was praised.

Wow, this thread is a sh*tshow. Some people really can’t stand to see positive things said about Harry and Meghan. They deliberately come onto a thread to spread venom and derail it. As if there aren’t four or five other threads decrying them already. And then those posters get angry when called out about their need to pollute a nice thread. Talk about a weird obsession.

Angiedx · 17/05/2021 13:57

Sorry atrocious grammar at times ....working and typing 😆

Mummy194 · 17/05/2021 13:58

You can start a thread but you can't police it.

This thread is already being policed.............

By the antiMM people.

As I said before, don't go to a baking thread and start going on and on about your stew.

OP posts:
Roussette · 17/05/2021 13:59

Unfortunately Jason Knauf is supposed to not be going until the end of the year I think?
Shame!

I would've thought it would be sooner given he leaked about MM to the British Press and obviously that fact makes William somewhat vulnerable in taking him on.

JingsMahBucket · 17/05/2021 14:01

@Mummy194 you’re entirely correct that it’s being policed by the anti-MM posters. They don’t dare let anything happy be said the couple without coming onto the thread and peeing all over it. They want to ensure their opinions and conspiracy theories are heard loudly all over the place. Again, a weird obsession.

Roussette · 17/05/2021 14:01

I'm thinking of going on the 'Tack Room' thread and say how much I hate horses Grin

You go and do that. MNHQ can then decide if they are a platform for hate or not! And if the companies that advertise here want any part of it.

Infact, a positive thread is doing MN a good favour !

That is the thing, they already have their space for this.

Ain't that the truth!

It is so so odd. I just don't understand it. Spread your hate/dislike/annoyance (whatever you call it) but why pull apart the positive stuff.

It's like a post saying they raised $50M for the Covax plan for Archie's 2nd birthday. Along comes someone saying something horrible about her. Like to counteract that? Do they think that for every positive post, a negative one has to be there to cancel it out? Because raising that money was good.

Musing here....

😂 Imagine if that happened with any of the other random sections of the site. Let’s go on Property/DIY and tell people they should sell their house and go live in a hovel.
Roussette · 17/05/2021 14:17

Hahaha yes or the long running Corrie thread and saying it's always been rubbish and why do people watch it.

Or the Vegan thread and saying 'why not have a proper sausage, you know you want to!'

I'll shut up now and really must stop laughing at my own jokes
