Positive thread on Meghan again

Now that at the other knock off MN chat has been shut down, we seem to have an influx of those posters on here with new or encouraged accounts.

For those who are not interested in trawling through negative post after the other. You can come on here for positive news about Meghan and Harry.

Why not, everyone else seems to be viewed positively, without 'cynicism'. I don't mind taking this at snail pace, we just post on the good things about H&M, they sure seem to be doing a lot of that lately, and it's really buried under the negativity on MN.

@JaniieJones

'It honestly sounds on here that posters don't believe what she felt at the time. I hope I'm wrong'

I certainly believe anyone who says they have had mental health problems. I think the unbelievable thing is 2 intelligent people would think HR, who deal with staffing issues, would be the first port of call when the RF are all exceptionally privileged and have direct access to any private health care they require.

yeah, its so stupid that they go to HR. they are nearly 40.
Aspiringmatriarch · 16/05/2021 12:15

@ChiefInspectorParker

yet when MM was trashed daily by the tabloids while she was in the RF you kept your mouths shut.

How on earth do you know? Some of the coverage was racist, it’s not acceptable, and I have always said so, both on here and in real life.

I don’t have to like MM to recognise racist journalism when I see it. I can think she’s been a victim of a racist press and deplore that, and also think her own words and behaviour demonstrate that she’s not a nice person.

Here's a twitter thread about Meghan. I think she sounds pretty nice tbh. Nobody is perfect but let's have some balance please.

Aspiringmatriarch · 16/05/2021 12:21

Patrick Adams from Suits had this to say:
"Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits. From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued. She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear."

Doesn't sound entirely horrible to me.

Gosh... so you say she isn't a nice person. You don't know her.
And I've been on these threads forever, and there was very little defence of MM last year. Very many posters were lapping up with excitement the unfair and nasty press she was getting.

Roussette · 16/05/2021 12:30

@Aspiringmatriarch
That's a good twitter thread, I've seen some of it before, it's well worth a read.

Sadly the detractors will not read anything positive (even though this is a positive MM thread) because they don't want to hear it or see it.

bluebell34567 · 16/05/2021 12:31

@StormzyinaTCup

And it will be the very same family that he has thrown under the bus who will come in and pick up the pieces (because no one else will). Sad.
no, he thinks M will save him. he said she saved him at OW interview.
Mummy194 · 16/05/2021 12:34

As soon as the one year extension ended, everyone who has worked with MM in the past came out to testify what a nice person she is. From co stars to producers to make up. I even remember a wardrobe person saying she was lovely on twitter. The creator of The Wire has nothing to gain from praising MM, he always tells it like it is, and never sucks up to anyone, but even he had only nice things to say about MM.

One colleague said recalls MM instinct, when she was driving and had to make an abrupt stop. She said MM instinctively put her arm out to stop the friend from lunging forward and hurting herself.

Andrew Mortimer said he went to live in LA for a while to research writing his book on her. He was getting all positive stories, he even put up posters and adverts all over the place asking people to come out with negative stories on her and he would pay. He says no one came out with any negative story at all.

This is why the smear against her feels so forced.

You don’t know MM and you like her

I have never said I like her. I imagine I might if I met her. My feelings about her come from the unfair press and slating she gets continually.

I hate any negative press when it's unwarranted and unfair whoever the person is.

SkedaddIe · 16/05/2021 12:43

What a refreshing thread @Mummy194

A gilded cage is still a cage so imo it's very unfair to diminish Harry's emotions because of his wealth and privilege

Samcro · 16/05/2021 12:44

@CokeDrinker

Just noticed this thread, a good idea. I have yet to read past the first page, but I see some truly nasty people cannot help but shit all on this thread. If you don't like Meghan (or Harry) why not go away?
because the have to spew their hate. they can't leave one thread to be positive. they have to belittle M putting up with racism. being targeted by white bullies like PM . they can't help themselves. its so tragic, what they don't realise that by watching the interview, listening to the podcast, buying the book, they are actually feeding the people they hate. weird!!
Mummy194 · 16/05/2021 12:48

That is a good thread you linked @Aspiringmatriarch

When the creator or Suits says she used to ask why are you throwing good food away instead of giving it to charity, and that is what they did. He says, that is her, who she is.

OP posts:
Aspiringmatriarch · 16/05/2021 12:49

I don’t have to know somebody personally to have an opinion on them. You don’t know MM and you like her.

I judge according to what I observe, and my judgment is informed by my own experience.

You can do that, but others on this thread can see that you've chosen to come and do so on a specifically positive thread, and can also see how you cherry-pick a few things and assign dubious motives to them, while ignoring anything good that's posted. So I feel comfortable saying your informed judgement is somewhat skewed. And we all have experience and can make our own minds up, that's not in question.

Roussette · 16/05/2021 12:58

I would just like once... a well known poster to say... actually that was a nice move of hers, or that was interesting she did it well. Anything!

Because I criticise them on occasion because sometimes they can be a couple of twerps!

But never ever a move from the negative and unpleasant and any chance to sling a few insults at him or her, is not missed.
I cannot begin to tell you how many times I've heard Harry being called dim, not the sharpest tool, not the brightest bulb, on and on and on...
What does it achieve? Nothing.
And far far worse. Nasty stuff. Really shocking nasty stuff that I wouldn't say about my worst enemy.
I dont know what people hope to achieve by insults, I just don't get it.

StormzyinaTCup · 16/05/2021 13:14

FWIW I did say I thought the NZ/beanie hat thing was a nice idea of theirs (it's somewhere on this thread).

Lucaslucas1612 · 16/05/2021 13:17

@Iworry2021

I'm a fan of Harry and Meghan and don't really understand the vitrol against them.
I am pretty indifferent to them but don't you think they are rather hypocritical on several aspects of their lives. I think that's why people aren't keen.
StormzyinaTCup · 16/05/2021 13:19

Don't know if I'm a 'well known poster' though? Grin

SueSaid · 16/05/2021 13:21

'would just like once... a well known poster to say... actually that was a nice move of hers, or that was interesting she did it well. Anything!'

I think her plan to shine a light on causes is a nice move of hers. It's everything else unfortunately that spoils that, detracts from the causes. The Africa tour being a prime example.

I just think neither of them are very self aware, they are typical of gaslighting deluded people who claim it is everyone else who is so wrong. They really do need to go on a retreat and have some me time away from Spotify and podcasts and the media who they loathe when everyone else is dishing the dirt but love when they get to do it.

SueSaid · 16/05/2021 13:23

'Don't know if I'm a 'well known poster' though? '

Yes, same. Still I thought I'd give my penneth worth. Again Grin

'I do really like the fact that they have rescue chickens. Chickens are lovely animals'

Oh yes you're right! I like that too.

Roussette · 16/05/2021 13:30

Stormy Very true yes, who couldn't but like those sweet lil merino wool beanies Smile

Janiie I'd love to slice your post in two. I think it's good that she..... BUT gaslighting deluded not self aware etc.
Putting the BUT and so on in another post Grin

Roussette · 16/05/2021 13:31

Yes, I liked the rescue chickens too. Chickens are such daft creatures. But I'm very glad the cockerel near us isn't around any more 🤣

SueSaid · 16/05/2021 13:34

'Yes, I liked the rescue chickens too. Chickens are such daft creatures'

They are! Oh god imagine if they did shine lights on the meat industry, I'd have to swap sides..
