I wonder why the Queen is keeping her head down. Poor woman :(
Yes I saw the point at which I thought camilla took Charles's hand. Lovely.

SkepticalCat · 17/04/2021 15:11

I think it was a lady in waiting in the car.

Someone us sitting two seats away from the Queen, I think, but I can't work out who.

MWMWMW · 17/04/2021 15:11

@GooseberryJam

Choir sounds wonderful. So relieved the coffin is on the stand now.

Who was in the car with the Queen? Anyone know?

Her Lady in Waiting

I can't imagine anything worse than being at a televised funeral. It's hard to see people so upset.

anon12345678901 · 17/04/2021 15:12

It's heartbreaking to see the queen, I can't imagine losing a partner of any length of time, let alone 73 years.
It must be so hard to have the funeral screened,when my Nan died I was in pieces at her funeral.

Beakind82 · 17/04/2021 15:12

@MissMarplesGoddaughter

I'm so glad the Queen isn't alone in her limo
Who was with her? Was it her lady in waiting?

It's one of her ladies in waiting, but couldn't see which one.

Angela Kelly, I think.
StealthPolarBear · 17/04/2021 15:12

Yes I get that they have to set an example. But in any other situation I'd say sit with your mum, hug her.
My grandad's funeral was a year ago today. I wasn't able to hug my mum and I really regret it. But she did have my dad.

Oblomov21 · 17/04/2021 15:13

All nicely done. Windsor looked magnificent in the sunshine.

PompomDahlia · 17/04/2021 15:13

The choir are stunning.

Feel so sorry for the Queen by herself - surely there must have been someone she could stand with

Beakind82 · 17/04/2021 15:13

@MissMarplesGoddaughter

Sophie has her arms around both her children
Apparently Sophie and Prince Phillip had a particularly good relationship

I think it's Andrew as there was just one prayer book

Andrew, Charles, Camilla, Anne and Tim all seem to be on the same side as the Queen

I am thinking of Mr Rumpole

freckles20 · 17/04/2021 15:14

I was just thinking the same. I am watching but I feel they should be allowed this without it being televised. Or, no close ups of them. How awful for the world to witness and comment on your grief / stiff upper lip.

Wbeezer · 17/04/2021 15:14

I think its beautiful so far and all the more poignant for being smaller.
The ponies set me off and my eyes have been leaking ever since.
The Queen looks so small and stooped. 🙁

toffeebutterpopcorn · 17/04/2021 15:14

That’s a very dry reading isn’t it?

SoupDragon · 17/04/2021 15:14

I feel for Harry being alone too

The public would unfortunately have a field dab if they did. Even though it’s what any person would do. It’s all so sad, having to either display your grief for the world to see and photograph or hide it like the queen keeping her head down.
likeamillpond · 17/04/2021 15:15

Have to admit, the British do this sort of thing beautifully and tastefully.
It's very moving.

StealthPolarBear · 17/04/2021 15:15

I hope when they're not on TV the queen is being hugged. And Harry.

Hockeyboysmum · 17/04/2021 15:16

I know its a very solemn service but the minister could be a bit less dreary.

Wouldn't it have been awful if it had been raining

The poll bearers were magnificent. There were several moments where it could have gone wrong but it didn't

toffeebutterpopcorn · 17/04/2021 15:16

The singing is beautiful.
