To wonder why Harry doesn't drop his titles now he's free of The Firm

He and Meghan wanted the freedom to earn their own money and good luck to them there. He's confirmed two new roles and his new employers are introducing him as "Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex".

For his self respect, why doesn't he ask to be called Harry Wales or Harry Mountbatten Windsor. Then he'd know he's being hired for his skills rather than being used for his royal connections.

Of course there is and people are just trying it on again, trying to twist words and shame opposing opinion

No.
Calling a show 'trashy' will inevitably reflect on the host of that show.

ImpatiensI · 27/03/2021 14:56

Yes how refreshing would it have been if he'd called himself Harry Windsor and ignored the link to an institution he seems to loathe

I would have had SO much more respect for him if he did that! But of course he's not that person at all.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/03/2021 14:56

'I generally have huge respect for Oprah but she's made a fool of herself with this interview.'

Exactly, I mean surely any credible host would've checked the facts first.

Thankyou @Sansaplans I of course was referring to the trashy nature of a revealing tell all, something they criticise others like her poor df for doing. I didn't say the chat show host herself was trashy Confused

Roussette · 27/03/2021 15:01

Tell alls are Oprah's bread and butter. She's been doing it for decades. Are they all 'trashy'?

Sarah Ferguson twice
Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, Whitney, the Obamas, Lance Armstrong (that one was a cracker!) and many many more

All trashy then... or just H&M?

Mummy195 · 27/03/2021 15:08

The name of the show is Oprah with.........

Done by Harpo productions. The show IS Oprah.

It was shown all over, could have been ITV, BBC, Channel 4 whatever.

ImpatiensI · 27/03/2021 15:08

All trashy then... or just H&M?

I assume she was a bit more questioning, not just agreeing with every word out of their mouths?

GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/03/2021 15:09

'I would have had SO much more respect for him if he did that! But of course he's not that person at all'

No, sadly not. So resentful and bitter about the RF yet still peddling the Prince and Duke names at every opportunity. I wonder if most in the US lap it all up or if his celeb pals take the piss out of his rather contrary behaviour.

'All trashy then... or just H&M'

Hmm well y'see the thing is these 2 have gone on and on about their privacy being invaded yet here we have them invading the RFs privacy. So yes for that reason this 'interview' is more trashy. Tbh I find any telly programme where people criticise others who aren't there to defend themselves a bit of a waste of time. It's just gossip isn't it.

Roussette · 27/03/2021 15:13

Hmm well y'see the thing is these 2 have gone on and on about their privacy being invaded yet here we have them invading the RFs privacy. So yes for that reason this 'interview' is more trashy

Ahhh... so nothing to do with Oprah or the show then. Just them.

I assume she was a bit more questioning, not just agreeing with every word out of their mouths?

I have watched a lot of Oprah interviews. It was absolutely bang on normal. Just as she has always done. To me anyway

ImpatiensI · 27/03/2021 15:13

The show IS Oprah.

No. There is far more to Oprah than these shows - don't you know that?

Roussette · 27/03/2021 15:16

I thought we were talking about the show? Confused

The show is very much Oprah, always has been. It used to be on over here channel4 5pm every day. Long time ago.

ImpatiensI · 27/03/2021 15:20

Roussette - 'Calling a show 'trashy' will inevitably reflect on the host of that show'

Also Roussette - 'I thought we were talking about the show?'

fgs Hmm

Roussette · 27/03/2021 15:26

fgs back atcha. with a Hmm

You said 'There is far more to Oprah than these shows - don't you know that?'

I know that. She acts, she's got an Oscar. There is a lot more to Oprah than just her show. Then I said I thought we were talking about her show not her philanthropy or acting or whatever.

I have not got a CLUE what you are on about in your last post. Not a clue.

Roussette · 27/03/2021 15:27

If you can accept we have our wires crossed, I can

??

Mummy195 · 27/03/2021 15:56

@ImpatiensI

The show IS Oprah.

No. There is far more to Oprah than these shows - don't you know that?

Hence why I say the show IS Oprah , not Oprah IS the show !
ImpatiensI · 27/03/2021 16:24

So let's get this straight -

GetOffYourHighHorse said - Yes but they hadn't gone on a trashy US chat show slating 'the institution' and making derogatory allegations

Mummy195 responded - Oprah is not 'trashy'. Don't even try that. She worked bloody hard against all odds to get where she is.

(i.e. Mummy195 tried to suggest that Oprah was being personally slurred as 'trashy')

Sansplans explain - To be fair they didn't say Oprah herself was trashy, but that the show was- there is a difference.

I responded Of course there is and people are just trying it on again, trying to twist words and shame opposing opinion Because we see a LOT of that on these threads from H&M defenders.

Roussette quoted me and added - No. Calling a show 'trashy' will inevitably reflect on the host of that show. and Mummy195 said The show IS Oprah. So both posters clearly suggesting that criticism of the show is the same as personally insulting Oprah.

I think this is ridiculous so i post No. There is far more to Oprah than these shows - don't you know that?

So Roussette answered I thought we were talking about the show and Mummy195 said Hence why I say the show IS Oprah , not Oprah IS the show ! = both posters now trying to backpedal and pretend they weren't accusing GetOff of calling Oprah 'trashy'. Which they definitely were.

JustLyra · 27/03/2021 16:25

@Lockdownbear

I only got as far as the tiaras on the Buzzfeed. Meghan wanted the tiara with the green emeralds, which Eugenie had already picked for her wedding, she seems to like up staging Eugenie. However Meghan was told no it wasn't available.
The tiara Meghan wanted wasn’t available because it’s got a massively iffy background.

It wasn’t the same one as Eugenie wore.

apurplecar · 27/03/2021 16:26

@Justcallmebebes

Because the pair of them seem to pick and choose which parts of being royal benefit them and discard the rest.

I'll also find it odd that two people who profess to want nothing more than global love, peace and harmony have caused so much global hatred, discord and hurt

Yep
Mummy195 · 27/03/2021 16:31

Just to be clear @ImpatiensI

There is no back paddling. That poster was clearly implying that Oprah is trashy !

GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/03/2021 16:55

'That poster was clearly implying that Oprah is trashy !'

'That poster' wasn't. And I quote myself 'Yes but they hadn't gone on a trashy US chat show slating the institution'. The style of the reveal all /stab everyone in the back type chat show is trashy. HTH. do we need to keep going over this. Jesus.

I also think Findom freedom is trashy. That is not to say Omid Scobie is trashy, to be clear Grin.

Mummy195 · 27/03/2021 17:10

I also think Findom freedom is trashy. That is not to be clear grin.

And did what did you think of the books by Lady C and Phil Dampier, I wonder? Were they trashy?

IrmaFayLear · 27/03/2021 17:12

Yes, Oprah’s show has trashy elements, eg the screaming audience members greedily falling upon iPhones etc under their seats, but so does The Daily Mail and I would presume that Lord Rothermere is far from trashy...

viques · 27/03/2021 17:16

I feel a bit sorry for the prat, let’s face it , he’s never going to get far in life because he is always going to have one foot stuck behind him keeping the palace door open for when life gets tough.

derxa · 27/03/2021 17:20

;

Mummy195 · 27/03/2021 17:37

Lord Rothermere. The billionaire who own Daily Heil and tells us what to do and think, all the while not paying a penny in UK taxes? That one?

IrmaFayLear · 27/03/2021 17:55

You are missing the point. I said that, like Oprah, you do not need to identify or in any way be like your audience.
