Harry appointed senior exec at $1bn startup

Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.
@Wondermule great post and totally agreed. What happened to running a production company and doing these Spotify and Netflix things? Why does he need this role? It’s all just self aggrandising.
I expect they’re majorly cashing in while the spotlight is still on them. I really can’t see any interest in them in years to come - they’ve sold their story, the new baby will garner some interest but not for long if they just release feet photos.

However they will need to pay for their own lifelong security which isn’t cheap, plus they’re accustomed to a luxury lifestyle.

I mean really, who is interested in watching clips of Harry and Meghan talking about ‘their’ causes? All people are interested in is their car crash few years in the RF and now they’ve spilled the beans on that, there’s nothing left to say really.

I suspect they’ll slowly fade out over the next 5 to 10 years.

If it's anything like the 'jobs' other minor royals have had he'll still have plenty of time for wagging his finger at the plebs.

ImpatiensI · 23/03/2021 17:13

@BigFatLiar

If it’s an Officer role will he be wearing a smart uniform Grin

Nice uniform standing by the door showing people in.

Hopefully he'll leave the Nazi uniform at home this time?
BabyItsAWildWorld · 23/03/2021 17:13

Imagine his 'interview':

Question: If a close member of your family reveals they are suicidal would do you do?

Harry Answer: Tell them to call HR?

No...

Harry: Keep it a secret from everyone and help them pretend theyre OK?

Err, maybe this isn't the organistion for you....

Alsohuman · 23/03/2021 17:14

@Wondermule

Posted too soon. Basically anything he has had any real level of involvement in, he has never stuck at or done well.
A bit unfair. Apparently he was a genuinely good army officer and Invictus has been a real success.
Wondermule · 23/03/2021 17:18

@Alsohuman

Shall we sweep under the rug his racist remarks to his colleagues? And also the fact engaging in warfare seems to be odd work experience for a mental health role?

Agreed.

You said he’d never done well any anything. He has. 🤷‍♀️

@Alsohuman didn’t his reporting officers call him lazy?

I don’t know. I haven’t seen his reports. Have you?

Lemoncheesecake20 · 23/03/2021 17:23

It does seem like he’s been hired simply so the company can use his glamorous title and address book. It will be all sparkly events and handshaking (so, no change there). ‘Just Call Me Harry’ will now think that he’s a real ‘working person’ and on a par with the average person, probably making him even more nauseating. Such a shame he’s not had to get a proper job- ie work his way up, achieve promotion through training and skill and put in decent hours. Then he might start to realise how privileged he has been and how ridiculous it is for him to whinge from his ivory tower...

PreparationPreparationPrep · 23/03/2021 17:26

@Mummy195

Absolutely ridiculous for the same 'taxpayers' who were complaining about him, are now complaining about H getting a job.

He has worked on big projects with MH. Invicticus, Head Together, Sentebale, Wellchild etc. I would say he is more than qualified.

H&M are a successful and it makes their haters sick to their stomachs.lol

Agree on this!! You hate them because they don't get jobs, he gets a job in a private firm and let's face it it's up to them Who they hire and why and you still hate him, because you want him to become a nurse (I think I read up thread) Good job they don't give 2 f,s what the haters think! It is laughable - if your teenage children just constantly spoke negatively about a particular celebrity they had know hope In hell of ever coming within a mile of, would you not think your child needed serious help!
Justmuddlingalong · 23/03/2021 17:27

I await the lectures about how he can empathise with the working population, juggling parenthood and a job.

Since we swept William's Savage Zulus, 'crocodile' eating, overpopulating Africans, come blackface at my 'colonial and natives' party themes.

I am sure we can do the same for Harry.

MammaMiaWallace · 23/03/2021 17:29

Chief Impact Officer lol

Jobseeker19 · 23/03/2021 17:29

They were told to shut up and get a job. He got a job and people are still moaning!

mummywithhermini · 23/03/2021 17:30

God help the company concerned. Harry is not known as an excellent business man. He barely scraped together some A levels at school.

Justmuddlingalong · 23/03/2021 17:30

I'm not moaning. It's a real life soap opera and I've got my popcorn ready for the next episode.

Wondermule · 23/03/2021 17:31

@Mummy195 it’s not either/or. Start a thread about Wills and I will be criticising him equally.

GrimDamnFanjo · 23/03/2021 17:32

It's a great hire for the company. Better than any ad campaign.

Theworldisfullofgs · 23/03/2021 17:34

I was about to say the same. It's an amazing boost for a start up.

BilboBercow · 23/03/2021 17:34

The job has been created for Harry, he's not stealing it from anyone, they want to use his profile. People want them to be self sufficient, they don't like them selling their story. This seems like a good option

Wondermule · 23/03/2021 17:38

It is however;

Many many celebrities are very in thrall to the Royals. Harry and Meghan are now so toxic that nobody that wants any kind of leverage or association with the RF will have anything to do with them. I wonder if they’re still in touch with the Beckhams...?

Souther · 23/03/2021 17:42

I can't get worked up.
I actually think its embarrassing.
They are basically hawking him out for his title. He is a Prince he will bring a lot of attention to their brand and product.
Hes basically being used for his name.
