Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.

One has to wonder what Andy and Fergie fritter such enormous sums on. What expense or financial disadvantage do they have that Anne and Edward don’t have? (Ignoring Charles there because he has his Duchy income.)

It’s a puzzle but it’s tempting to make wild guesses.

Not xenophobia, ensures she understands UK culture and lacks desire to say all the right things and then persuade him to go and live in her country as shes homesick or whatever.

She was not homesick she was chased out.

A good thing too that she had her own country and people to support her. I imagine if she was from here, they would be stuck with no where to go, and that lucky escape (from suicide) may not have happened.

The best that W&K could do for the children is to mobilise changes in palace official attitudes. That way, their children can marry whoever they want without worry of persecution . That is what would make them happy individuals.

The trouble is whoever they marry has to be the right sort of person for’ the job’. So it can’t just be anyone. As we’ve found out.

Meghan was not chased out. Remember Harry saying his was the family she never had. Why didn't she pick up the phone and talk to her mum or ask Harry for the number of his therapist?

Its not like she didn't have people around her. I'm sure some trusted staff could have sat with her while he went to work (the function).

Such a warm feeling from the kind people this morning, surely a day’s work has been achieved by 9am. Racism, bigotry and hatred ✅ tick and tick.
Surely - can go forth today with the self satisfied smile of the self-righteous 😀 all by 9am. If only I could be so kind, or rather blind to facts and inconsistencies, then I could feel smug all day too. Hey ho, I guess that’s the burden of critical thinking.

Hey they auctioned a couple of hideous hats for charity, it might have been the ones they wore at Williams wedding.
It crossed my mind did they have them designed with that in mind?

But yes their fashion sense has got much better. I would love to see the dress the Bea was planning to get married in.

Suits lasted 9 seasons with MM being one of leads love interest. It's rated 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.

MM had over 2M followers on her website (which raised to 3M after H).

She was guest on lots of popular talk shows in the US.

I watched the Caroline Flack documentary last night. Didn't realise she once dated Prince Harry.

Anyway, she was hounded by strangers on the internet (including on Mumsnet if I remember correctly) over photographs of a domestic dispute that someone from the Met police sold to The Sun. She found it all very difficult and then shortly after Christmas she committed suicide.

This happened right before Harry and Meghan announced they were going to pursue an independent life.

Then the hashtag bekind movement was all over the internet like a rash as people tried to justify that it wasn't their spurious and baseless comments that contributed to her decision to take her own life. It hadn't been their voices among the clamour of torment that drove her to her death.

I agree, but the demands of the job are not reasonable if measured against any standard criteria.

Your boss can’t be removed.

You can’t complain.

You have to give up personal freedom.

Not just you, but your extended family will be at the mercy of the press.

There are obviously a few perks - house and board, horses, great jewellery, staff (this is good and bad). However I don’t think it’s really a job for humans. That is why the family come unstuck when it becomes apparent that they are just ordinary humans.

In the interview she stated that she spoke to her mum. At some point, she said her mum called her in tears over what she was reading.

From what she said, MM was looking for proper (rehab type I guess) help. There was the question of can she just check herself in somewhere. She needed permission for that.

It seems that the staff she could trust had no power or influence - they
went to the ppl with power regarding false stories, but were not listened to (like the Kate story).

Why didn't her husband get her help?
He's had therapists. Where is he in all of it?

While it's not that easy a job, I don't think it's that difficult a job. All that needs to change is the bigoted attitudes and unnecessary leaks, lies and backstabbing.

If they had treated MM like Sophie, for example, I believe she would have coped. Sophie did something wrong, and the media concentrated on that. Even herself, she probably thought ok, it's super hard but fair enough.

I don't think MM would have problems with weight stories (she would just go on a diet), clothes fit/style (she would just change them). What can she do about character assassination, with accusations of things she did not do or think even.

They said they asked for help lots of times, then in the end went up the echelons, she is quoting one of the most senior ppl there.

Her husband did help her, he took her out of the situation, after hitting brick wall after another.

This is how she highlight that she was treated differently to everyone else. For PC, H and W the approval was signed off that they could see a therapist, but not for her.
