Harry appointed senior exec at $1bn startup

Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.

OP posts:
Roussette · 25/03/2021 16:39

I'm not.

Why are you asking that?

Why are huge list of other posters on them too?

Roussette · 25/03/2021 16:41

Maybe it’s her truth which means it’s all ok

Sorry? You mean what?

Marmaladeagain · 25/03/2021 16:44

Facts I think it is we refer to - not because of his wife that Harry was a very quickly descending royal - little facts like that are inconvenient and never addressed by the supporters.

Beatrice may be likely to do very well out of the more supporting role that would have been on offer for Harry but he told them to shove it. That other bowler when he said William felt trapped, which William corrected himself this week.

The bluster is from the supporters. The people quoting facts and pointing out inconsistencies in the shifty infomercial are known here as ‘detractors’. Grin

I agree with the PP that you did deliberately change the whole context of what you were quoting and it is disingenuous. I know how keen you are on H&M being right though so assumed you were following their lead by having your own truth which gets you out of having to follow facts. As you full well know but this is another example of you enjoying being disingenuous and I do get it - we are all bored right now with little to do.
ImpatiensI · 25/03/2021 16:50

Of course!

Roussette · 25/03/2021 16:50

You love that word disingenuous don't you?
I explained myself and really do not feel I need to do so again.

So I deceive, I'm disingenuous, and I lied. Gosh. A twisting of words can make anything into something big to score points can't it?

Roussette · 25/03/2021 16:53

As you full well know but this is another example

Do you have a list I should know about?

ImpatiensI · 25/03/2021 16:54

@Roussette it isn't a personal attack' to point out when someone has very obviously been dishonest. Actually, I find you far more likeable than all the other defenders of H&M, you generally seemed more reasonable and good-humoured.

Unfortunately I think your workload might be getting to you.

ImpatiensI · 25/03/2021 16:56

So I deceive, I'm disingenuous, and I lied

Fair enough, thanks. A straight apology would have sufficed.

I apologise. I understood what my post meant in my head but you are not in my head. I labelled the whole thing as horrendous from the start and I should not have done that because I actually meant it built up from a few negative articles to the drip drip of a whole huge crescendo of stuff. Yes, I ignored posting the first part, I admit that. But as I say, in my head, I meant the building up of criticism.
So I was wrong. Yes.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 25/03/2021 17:17

Cronyism is just as bad as the royals

Yup I agree

ImpatiensI · 25/03/2021 17:22

I understood what my post meant in my head but you are not in my head Shock

I accept your apology. Smile

I’d rather abolish the monarchy and have done with it, AND crack down on the old boys network trading favours. Not holding my breath.

Agree, but also Hancock and Cameron are subject to rules set by standards committees and the law, and if we are not satisfied with the government’s behaviour it can be voted out.

Compare that to how Prince Andrew has been treated by the a Queen.

Goodness no, why drag Andrew's family any further onto the gravy train. Harry leaving, getting a job and supporting his family is good news for the British taxpayer - why start handing out our hard earned to one of Andrew's daughters? I'm quite prepared to go and cut a few ribbons for the dosh and freebies on offer and I am sure I am every bit as qualified as Beatrice.
IrmaFayLear · 25/03/2021 19:02

The powers that be do seem to be pushing Eugenie to the fore. She seems like a nice girl, but I think the monarchy needs to stay slim.

I applaud Roussette for holding the H&M line. Some of the other pro-H&M posters are, in contrast, loopily under their spell and often insulting and keen to throw inappropriate and nasty insults.

That being said, please please Roussette admit that Harry’s sound bites in his new position are just a teeny bit weird Smile

CandyLeBonBon · 25/03/2021 19:05

Bloody hell. That all escalated quickly! Shock

CathyorClaire · 25/03/2021 21:01

Well she's already blagged £2M from the taxpayer in security costs for her overblown matrimonial shindig so who knows?

Viviennemary · 25/03/2021 21:33

I think it would be a good idea to draft in Beatrice and Eugenie if that's what they want too. I wasn't keen on them before but I think they have grown into adults that will represent the monarchy in a good way. After all they have been brought up in it and hopefully know what's expected.

HeadNorth · 25/03/2021 22:14

Nope, I still think it would be better to get me drafted in - only one of me, so better value for the British taxpayer. Plus my family is slightly less dysfunctional. I'll be happy with just one palace, security and money for life and will cut any ribbon you want. I am at least as talented as B or E so why not?

merrymouse · 25/03/2021 22:14

What would Beatrice and Eugenie do and why would they be better at it than millions of other people?

HeadNorth · 25/03/2021 22:16

merrymouse great minds Grin

SoWhyNot · 25/03/2021 22:16

@merrymouse

What would Beatrice and Eugenie do and why would they be better at it than millions of other people?
None of the rest of the royal family are better than anyone else!
LookAChicken · 25/03/2021 22:21

We don't need MORE of them!

Blueberries0112 · 25/03/2021 23:02

Sounds like some of you really want to abolish the royal family
