Harry & Meghan - to hope the Royals answer back?

I think the allegations in the Oprah interview are serious enough that protocol should be breached and the Royals should have a voice to give their side too.

BlackBrowedAlbatross I completely agree. I don’t know who paid maybe PH footed the Bill. There was speculation at the time. They then left for Tyler Perry’s mansion.

I don't think Harry's £10 mil from his Mum will last long in Southern California. . . .

I think the palace should say nothing 。 They have nothing to answer to , these are comments in an interview unsubstantiated. Very easy to sling these allegations

So it turns out that what Meghan claimed about getting married three days before the wedding wasn’t actually true. They have now ‘clarified’ that it was effectively a private rehearsal of their vows and that they were legally married during the ceremony.

So what else that she said wasn’t actually true?

@MrPickles73

He has 10 million from princess Di and she is a reasonably famous actress so I can't be too concerned about them being financially cut off but perhaps they need to look at their outgoings?

That will run out like water with 24/7 (quality) security for Harry, Megan and kids for the rest of their lives. As the son/DIL and grandchildren of the eventual monarch, kidnap and God knows what else would be almost inevitable without proper security. That costs a fortune, which is why they actually need a fortune (and why Harry was worried about being suddenly financially cut off).

A minor Getty heir was kidnapped and had his ear cut off and he wasnt even the grandchild of the King of the UK et al.

This is what confuses me. I don't understand how some people can be so adamant that what they are saying is the truth and everything else is the horrid medoa6makong stuff up when already some parts have been disproven.

It's very reminiscent of the boy who cried wolf and therefore surely it makes more sense to think everything they have said is a lie unless they provide evidence to suggest otherwise.

A near 40 year old man with millions in the bank, should not have to be financially supported by his father completely agree with this.

The whole planet still in the grip of a pandemic, millions dying or financially crippled, Harry Wales "my diamond shoes are too tight". FFS.

@OverweightPidgeon

I think they should go the whole hog and fight it out on Facebook.

I think they should settle it with a lip sync, like in Drag Race.

As far as I can make out, the security stuff doesn't make any sense, or at least doesn't match what happened at the time they left, but I haven't seen the interview so may be missing something.

(Doesn't make sense unless they thought they could stop working on behalf of the UK but still have British taxpayers fund their security.)

I don’t think they will, they will totally ignore it like it didn’t happen.

I think there will be some “palace sources said “ comments, and it will be about titles.

The queen or Charles may comment on that particular element though as it’s such a heinous accusation. Or there may be a statement clarifying protocol for the queens great grandkids.

Yes I think they need to explain the title thing
I assumed he was doing the princess anne thing and didn't want a title which is fair enough.

@AgeLikeWine where is this clarification please? I’d be interested to see that. It sheds some light on the reliability of the rest of what she said.

I wish my mother, a Mediterranean, long legged, raven haired beauty had done a bit more speculating about inherited characteristics before she married a short, fat, fair Welshman. Then I might have looked more like Sophia Loren and less like Harry Secombe.

When Archie was born it was announced that they had decided that he would not use the Earl of Wherever title he was born with.

Archie was never going to be a prince at that point, as has been pointed out by many PP.

They might be saying that they were told he still wouldn't be a prince when Charles became king, quite possible as Charles does want to streamline the family and has been talking about that for some time. He doesn't think that Beatrice and Eugenie (grandchildren of the monarch) ought to be princesses, I don't think. But all that predates Meghan and Archie, so presumably would have applied whoever Harry married.

I think the pair of them are silly spoilt arses but what's worse is the way the Royal Family allow the press to crucify women who come into their family. How did PH think it was going to be any different for him?
For years before MM arrived the Duchess of Cambridge and her family were getting it from all sides- Waitey Katey and her parents being shopkeepers and all that classist, misogynistic bullshit. Before that Diana and Fergie pulled to pieces in the papers.
The palaces view seems to be it's open season on these women as long as they can rely on the papers to keep the real stories out of the headlines. It's all about protecting the Firm. It's toxic and if this pulls them up then all the better. I doubt it though.

BBC News, under the byline of Jonny Diamond, royal correspondent :

A source close to the Sussexes has told the BBC that the wedding that Meghan referred to in the "backyard" three days before the public wedding in May 2018 was a private exchange of vows.

They said the couple were legally married on 19 May 2018 during a televised ceremony at Windsor Castle.

They have done what they have done M&H. I personally cannot understand why Harry has put this all out in the public domain about his family...BUT whether it is true or not, if they ever do other interviews about 'almost unsurvivable' lives as royals or about the RF then they are quite simply cashing in and stirring the pot using something they so clearly find abhorrent to give themselves a platform...let's see how long it takes.
