If they take advice about what will come across well, rather than just using it to push a message there's a chance it might work - however, it's always about control rather than privacy with H&M so I fear that they'll ignore advice as always!

When you think about it , Netflix would have wanted much more than documentaries about MH or the environment.

Doria has conducted herself perfectly as far as I can see . I was so impressed with her at the wedding .( and POW when he took her arm) but it just seemed a bit of a jump from being a yoga teacher/ jewellery maker/ social worker to being CEO of a Care Home . Could H and M have bought this through one of their businesses ?

Yes, good luck to Doris, but I doubt whether any similarly-qualified woman would have been able to step into a CEO role just like that. But, as pp said, the firm may not even be running yet.

As for the reality show. Netflix will want their pound of flesh. Like hell are they interested in M&H’s philanthropy.

Foundations are a bit funny in the US - they are a good tax dodge and not like a charity.

i agree about using the negative terms.

I think Netflix will shine a light on the many good works H&M will no doubt do, as well as ensure their continued checkins about how if they are ok.

I wonder if zoom calls between Harry and his family will continue if there is a risk they would be shown on Netflix.

I actually think the reality show is a great opportunity for people to really make up their own minds.

As pp have said, all information currently available about H&M has a negative media spin on it, including apparently their engagement interview, social media and website statements. This has meant that we are seeing information with a negative bias and therefore H&M do not get a fair judgement.

As they will be producing their own show, we can all make our own unbiased assessment of their behaviour and will no longer be criticised for eg believing the daily mail.

It's interesting though that they've obviously had to give away their privacy in order to get the Netflix deal though. I cannot for one moment imagine that a reality tv show (not matter how tasteful, because when it comes to reality shows, tasteful is definitely relative, and it's not the image they would have wanted to portray) was one of the flagship projects they offered to the company. It sounds far more like it was the quid pro quo for the opportunity to produce the worthy content that they told us would be the result of this deal. How foolish those complaints about unacceptable media instrusion and aspirations for a peaceful life sound now. I suspect they found their negotiating power was not what they had imagined.

And slithytove I genuinely cannot understand what you are saying here. I read their website statements with my own eyes, listened to and watched their engagement interview myself - I am perfectly able to form my own, as you put it, unbiased assessment of their behaviour from that.

I am sure that this deal does not fall under the umbrella of unacceptable media intrusion. It is no doubt acceptable as they will control the narrative and editing.

Why, it’s practically the same as DoC releasing her photos of her children!

Perhaps there hasn’t been much foresight about what MSM might say in their coverage of the reality show though...

Yes think we can all imagine. It will be a load of shining lights and giving voices to worthy causes without anyone present to challenge or scrutinise. It will be the feature length version of Finding Freedom combined with their poor me African whine.

Rather they have been shared on this and other H&M threads as a reason for why one might have a negative or critical optimism of H&M.

This reality show should put an end to that particular line of defence.

I am another one who had no opinion on the couple prior to the Africa interview.

And it can be spun as nasty DM all people want. The fact is those words were said by H&M in that setting and it was breathtakingly ignorant.

I formed an opinion from that and have built up on it since.

A source has said (Netflix themselves have not confirmed programming) that they will have a show focusing on charity work, it's hardly The Kardashians. That's basically what royals are filmed doing already.

Well as has been said Fergie and Camilla were slated for years. The difference with this pair is they keep fuelling the fire by their crass actions. A trashy book and now an equally self indulgent saviour telly series on Netflix. It's one cringe after another.
