'Interesting on Fergie still using the Duchess title. She's been in countless adverts in the US, Wedgewood china, jewellery, weight loss plans, reality TV, talk shows etc etc and calls herself Duchess of York'

Yes you're right this is of course equally as grasping. Harry is more in the spotlight/high profile though, not because he married an American but because he was always so popular. Yet the smiley, fun loving Harry all seems to have been fake, a veneer to hide his deep resentment of his family and the British people.

Maireas · 27/09/2020 13:11

I know that he will be a blood Prince on the accession of his grandfather, @Royalinsider, and I also know that they have chosen for him not to be styled the Earl of Dumbarton. My musings were rather about the use of a princely title by a citizen of the USA, but maybe that wasn't clear. Does anyone know?

Roussette · 27/09/2020 13:17

GetOff
So that's fair is it?
No
Course not
Why should Sarah do what she wants with impunity yet Harry can barely take a breath for constant criticism
And I don't think he dislikes or resents the British public.

Oldbutstillgotit · 27/09/2020 13:19

@ Roussette for what it’s worth I don’t think Sarah should have remained a Duchess but I understand the reasons .
However to the best of my knowledge, Sarah has never complained publicly about her lot or the RF. she has never collaborated with anyone writing a book that is basically a whinge fest . She is always respectful in particular regarding HM.
I don’t know why people keep being up Andrew . I think we are agreed he is a loathsome person however he has not ( yet) bern convicted of any crimes . If/ when he is I expect HM to take action.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/09/2020 13:22

No it isn't fair at all. I'm just explaining that high profile peope tend to get more criticism.

Didn't one of Anne's kids advertise milk in china? I know they don't have titles but even so it's using their royalty for their own personal gain. Its all very grubby whoever does it.

Jaxsbum · 27/09/2020 13:22

@QueenofAsgard

I am finding the calling pro M posters bullies tiresome. Calling people bullies for calling posters out on their posts is odd

I suppose you have to expect some push back when it is insisted that all criticism is based in racism.

I have only seen a couple of posters say that. so you can't lump all pro M posters under that.
AnneOfQueenSables · 27/09/2020 13:22

froggy you must be confusing me with another poster. I've deliberately never engaged with you so doubt you've called me a liar before unless you've smeared everyone irrespective of their posts.
Another poster has kindly provided the example of H saying they wanted a quiet life. He also gave interviews saying he was triggered by every camera click.
Since you support H&M and they called for accountability for false smears online, I'll await your apology for smearing me.

Maireas · 27/09/2020 13:22

I have no time for Sarah Ferguson and her grasping, greedy undignified behaviour. My guess would be that she clung on to the title and it was allowed because of the daughters, but the whole York saga is a shambles and I've no time for any of them.

Maireas · 27/09/2020 13:26

Also, wasn't Sarah Ferguson caught on film trying to sell access to Prince Andrew? Talk about shameless.

Roussette · 27/09/2020 13:31

And Sarah Duchess of York sold juicers and hair straighteners on QVC
Can't remember the outrage about that on here !

Royalinsider · 27/09/2020 13:37

No one would be interested in anything H and M said or did if they didn't have those titles

No one would be interested in any of the royals in that case.

Before meeting Harry, Meghan was a GlobalAmbassadorfor World Vision (the world's largest international children's charity before), had written for Elle and other publications, was an women's rights advocate for the UN and did a UN speech, lobbied then-US first lady Hillary Clintonas a child.

Vogue: "The magazine's editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, announced that the Meghan Vogur issue was the fasted selling issue in the history of British Vogue, having been sold out in 10 days, and was the best-selling issue of the decade."

Hubb cookbook - Meghan raised found out the Hubb charity was rarely open due to a lack of funding. She helped them get a publishing deal that raised over £500k for the charity and she also secured around £700K funding for training and qualifications

Smartworks - Meghan mentored a few women who went on to gain employment and also arranged a multi label fashion collection for sale "so many items were purchased in the collection’s first week that Smart Works will be stocked with enough pieces of clothing to support women for an entire year."

Harry has been involved with various documentaries (minus the ones alongside other royals):
Battle of Britain
Invictus Games documentary 2014
My Way to Olympia
Prince Harry in Africa 2016
Rising Phoenix
South Pole Heroes
Stroop Rhino Horn War
The Forgotten Kingdom – Prince Harry in Lesotho
The Oprah Conversation (producer also)

He also set up and works on Sentebele, Invictus, Endeavour and other initiatives.

Royalinsider · 27/09/2020 13:38

Correction - lobbied then-US first lady Hillary Clintonas as a child.

AnneOfQueenSables · 27/09/2020 13:39

Did MN even have a Royal section then? The media definitely covered all of Sarah's 'careers' and whether she was exploiting royal connections or embarrassing them. And Peter's milk advert in China was definitely discussed on here.

Royalinsider · 27/09/2020 13:40

Correction
Vogue: "The magazine's editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, announced that the Meghan Vogue issue was the fastest selling issue in the history of British Vogue, having been sold out in 10 days, and was the best-selling issue of the decade."

GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/09/2020 13:41

'However to the best of my knowledge, Sarah has never complained publicly about her lot or the RF. she has never collaborated with anyone writing a book that is basically a whinge fest'

Yes it's the petulance with Harry, it's been said a million times but using the backdrop of the African tour for them both to air their petty gripes, it was so cringeworthy.

AnneOfQueenSables · 27/09/2020 13:47

The Vogue edition was interesting. According to the Sussex Squad on twitter they organised a mass purchase of the Vogue edition and took out subscriptions. They completely took credit for it success.
Then, a few months ago, Vogue's Instagram published one photo of Kate and they all cancelled their subscriptions and posted lots of abuse about Vogue all over Twitter and Insta. There are some frighteningly unhinged people attached to that group. I imagine security services keep a close eye on them.

Roussette · 27/09/2020 13:49

Blimey. Sarah had a right old whinge to Oprah and the resident shrink 'Dr. Phil' as I remember.
She was always hard done by

GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/09/2020 13:54

'Sarah had a right old whinge to Oprah and the resident shrink 'Dr. Phil' as I remember. She was always hard done by'

Oprah is the right place for a pity party. I don't think she ever whinged whilst on tour where she was 'shining a light' on those who were enduring extreme hardship and poverty.

Roussette · 27/09/2020 13:56

Cleverrrrrr Getoff lol

Oldbutstillgotit · 27/09/2020 14:02

@ Roussette are you referring to the 1996 interview ? I have just watched it and Sarah’s biggest complaints were about the lightbulbs and the distance to the kitchen in BP !
Interestingly , she mentioned how cruel and abusive the U.K. press were to her and Diana . ( which I remember) however you read some of the posts on here you would think that MM was the first person marrying into the RF to be criticised !

ajandjjmum · 27/09/2020 14:03

@Roussette

And Sarah Duchess of York sold juicers and hair straighteners on QVC Can't remember the outrage about that on here !
Probably because it was so long ago, MN didn't exist! There was plenty of negative press though.
Roussette · 27/09/2020 14:05

I have no idea which one, I'm going from memory, think she did more than one if I remember correctly

SunbathingDragon · 27/09/2020 14:06

I’ve just been reading up on that after seeing your post. I agree you are right about security services keeping a close eye on them, although many probably feel anonymous behind their keyboard. I can’t help but feel that if it was reversed and they were the Cambridge Clan instead, that there would be a number of lawsuits landing on their doormats.
GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/09/2020 14:20

'Probably because it was so long ago, MN didn't exist! There was plenty of negative press though.'

Totally agree, Fergie was a target of ridicule for ages. She just took it though, didn't seem to get all sulky like Harry. You get the feeling she can laugh at herself though, unlike that needy drip.

Roussette · 27/09/2020 14:38

Needy drip?
Nice Hmm
