@froggygoneacourting you have obviously confused my post with someone else's if you think anywhere I was suggesting that attacking William was a good approach.
imo it's very shortsighted to think that attacking W&K is a good way to support H&M. If you want to start a thread to tear apart W&K then feel free to do so. I imagine MNHQ might find it against talk guidelines.
why would it be against the talk guide lines?
the ones that tear H&M apart are allowed.

I've lost count of how many dozens or quite possibly hundreds of Meghan-bashing threads MNHQ have deleted over the past couple of years.

You'd think between the constant thread deletions, and being repeatedly banned and having to create a new email address to re-register as a PBP, the HateBrigade would give up and go elsewhere, wouldn't you?

SunbathingDragon · 20/09/2020 12:03

@CallmeAngelina

What does it matter ? Do you try and follow a money trail for everyone who makes a personal donation to a charity?

It doesn't matter - or at least, I don't really care. My point was that if it's being attributed to H&M as a sign of their personal benevolence (the implication being it is from their personal funds) when actually it comes from an official foundation with their names on it, they are two different things.

They are two different things but it is good that money is going to help disadvantaged females in SA. What’s a shame is that some of the previous behaviour by H&M means that good actions like this end up being tainted because of it. If they are able to step away from controversy (eg talking to authors who are writing books on them etc) and stick with helping those who are disadvantaged and want the support, they could turn around their current reputation. As we’ve discussed with Camilla, it can take many many years but it is possible. As I’ve said before, do they want to make money above and beyond what they need or do they want to make a difference in the world. We will see in due time.
Roussette · 20/09/2020 12:09

Yes we will see won't we...

Viviennemary · 20/09/2020 12:11

They want more and more money. They left the royal life not for privacy but to make money. Mostly on their royal connections. Without their royal connections what are they.

Roussette · 20/09/2020 12:12

And you know this how?

Maireas · 20/09/2020 12:20

You could say the same for most royals. Harry and Meghan’s behaviour is far less dodgy and above board than Andrew and his Pitch Palace (literally directly profiting from selling out the Buckingham Palace brand); both Andrew and Fergie’s dodgy financial and property dealings with shady criminals like Epstein; Zara Phillips and Peter Philips currently being subject to a Home Office investigation request into them taking payments and potentially acting as lobbyists from dodgy Chinese moguls; Peter Phillips making that cheesy Chinese TV commercial for milk without RF permission that featured him sitting on a replica throne on a set made up to look like the Palace, with the tag line “British Royal Family member Peter Philips” and a fake crest/seal of endorsement made to look like the product possessed an official Royal Warrant.

That’s not covering minor things like Sophie’s fake sheik scandal or Carole Middleton doing a marketing campaign for Party Pieces’ “It’s a Boy” line based on Archie’s birth.

They all profit, most of them directly exploit the RF much more than Harry and Meghan, and none of them would be successful or have any money without it. Ironically Meghan’s the only one of them to have ever earned money or success off her own back.

Rousette, they told us so themselves.

"under the current structure and financing arrangements, [the Duke and Duchess of Sussex] are prohibited from earning any income in any form"...

"As they step back as senior members of the Royal Family and no longer receive funding through the Sovereign Grant, they will become members of the Royal Family with financial independence which is something they look forward to".

Can't make money now + want future financial independence = a major aim of their move was to make money.

froggygoneacourting · 20/09/2020 12:44

a major aim of their move was to make moneybe financially independent.

FTFY.

The media and the Bashers have been screaming about how they need to earn their own money and not take Royal/public money from day one.

This is what you wanted. This is what you demanded. Now you’re angry at them for wanting to be allowed to work and earn their own money?

Sheer unadulterated hypocrisy. They’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Serenster · 20/09/2020 12:44

Ironically Meghan’s the only one of them to have ever earned money or success off her own back

Sophie set up and ran her own, successful, PR company long before she was a member of the Royal Family? Zara is a world-class equestrian? Both show you're wrong there.

I agree . For those questioning H and M’s desire to make a lot of money , they themselves said they wanted to be financially independent. They can’t do that without touting themselves around . It was well documented at the time that M in particular resented having to be accountable for the large amount of money she spent on clothes .
Given the size of mortgage they have , the cost of upkeeping the house , security and staff , H and M clearly have to earn a lot of money .
They want privacy on their own terms which is fair enough so they need to drop the Sussex titles and not hint about returning for high profile events such as Trooping if the Colour

froggygoneacourting · 20/09/2020 12:46

equestrianism is largely about money and access to the best horses and best trainers. Zara certainly wouldn’t be a “top equestrian“ if she’d grown up in a three-bed semi in Hull.

Most of her income comes from consultancy fees and selling her name and status as a royal.

Try again.

Serenster · 20/09/2020 12:46

How do you achieve financial independence without making money? I'm interested to know, please?

Mominatrix · 20/09/2020 12:47

Uggg. Usual suspects and their predictable posturing.

More amusing is the Titania McGrath article highlighting Meghan Markle in her guide for boys and girls. (unfortunately I don't have a share token - was sent to me by a friend).

Oldbutstillgotit · 20/09/2020 12:47

X post !

froggygoneacourting So why not drop the Sussex titles ?

AnneOfQueenSables · 20/09/2020 12:47

This doesn't make sense. If you mean M worked prior to being a Royal so did Sophie, Kate, Autumn, Mike - in fact all the people who married into the RF earned money prior to their marriage and some of them did so after marriage too.

Serenster · 20/09/2020 12:48

And Meghan wouldn't be a cast member of a seven-series cable TV show if she hadn't grown up with a lighting engineer father and a producer first husband.

Better?

froggygoneacourting · 20/09/2020 12:49

My sides! Are you really holding up Kate Middleton as an example of someone who worked hard and earned her own income prior to marriage?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

froggygoneacourting · 20/09/2020 12:50

And Meghan wouldn't be a cast member of a seven-series cable TV show if she hadn't grown up with a lighting engineer father and a producer first husband.

She landed the role on Suits (and several movie roles prior to that) before she got married.

Roussette · 20/09/2020 12:52

To make money to be financially independent, isn't that everyone who is so anti, wants?
I thought that was the whole idea.
How are they supposed to live without making money?
What a strange argument.
It seems to me that they do what you want, pay frogmore/be independent/whatever and then there's a chorus of 'ahhhhh BUT...'
Don't get it, never will.
