They would greatly improve their standing with some people if they would drop the cringeworthy word salad comments and press releases. If Meghan is writing them, she needs to stop and if it's a PR firm they need to be fired and replaced. It is just so, so over the top that my eyes roll whenever I read another one. And they aren't "too American" for me. I'm an American and I've never read any other celebrity, no matter how woke, come out with such garbled statements.

Afaik the Invictus deal was with Amazon, so Harry had to cancel when he signed the Netflix deal.

And to keep this thread on track, HM The Queen paid a secret visit to Hull one year. She arrived by private boat and travelled through Hull to visit local friends while she was on holiday. DH was present and I asked him whether Prince Philip was accompanying HM and he can’t recall, so probably not.

I wonder if H and M will return for PP’s 100th birthday ? We already know that PA won’t have a role ( in public) but what about H and M ? I cannot imagine PP will be too impressed with them !

For years PP was said to leave residences when Sarah DOY arrived to avoid her and notably he was pictured leaving just as Harry arrived for his talks with HMQ about resigning. If so, H&M might find they aren’t invited.

Philip doesn’t tend to be one for grand gestures and I’m sure he is said to have insisted that he doesn’t have a state funeral when the time comes. However, I’m sure there will be public acknowledgment of his birthday but June is still a long way away and we had a continuing pandemic to endure in the meantime.

Completely agree @jeffgoldblumlovespenguins. They drop their titles, work hard - God knows they've already had a massive step up with the £34m so they should be fine. They don't like Royal Life, and certainly stuck the knives into the family, so they need to stop benefiting from it all.

If they actually wanted to be judged on their own merits that would be fab.

It's hard to imagine everyone welcoming them back after their assumed collaboration with Finding Freedom.

We are told to be mindful of the environment from 2 people who take private jets places and live in a house which far exceeds their needs and must be a massive energy drain. If you want to live and travel in luxury, fine, but do not turn round and lecture others about climate change. If they REALLY meant it, they would have chosen a home that was a beacon of energy efficiency.
H was apparently passionate about Invictus but not enough to drop his support for a Netflix deal.
The continued calls for privacy, yet making public pronouncements on things also doesn’t add up.
Can you see the mismatch?

By the by, DH and I looked at relocating to Hull/East Yorks. The school he was after was in North Lincs. I had a freakout about how he'd do the commute over the Humber Bridge: "I'll be backed up to infinity!" He tried to explain, no dear, this wouldn't be like London. My fave attraction at the time was the Deep.
