Its easy to read on Kindle and then return for a refund within two weeks. I am absolutely convinced she gave her diary to Scooby.
Namechanged for this post.
Please don't do this, especially as we are speaking of "integrity" here.
It's virtually stealing. Like going to a dress shop, buying a dress, wearing it once, and then returning it.
Remember that authors get only a small percentage of the cover price of every copy sold. Granted, this particular book is already a best-seller and one or two "steals" won't hurt the authors.
But if you do it to other, less successful, authors, you are literally taking money out of their pockets. You have bought the book, used it, and demanded your money back. AND spreading the word so others can do the same. What if it becomes a habit for Kindle readers?
If you want us to keep on writing, you need to let us keep the money even if you didn't like the book. Just like you won't get money back if you didn't like a movie. Please be honest!
There's always the "sample" you can download to get an idea of the writing. Or even if you do buy a book and with the first few pages. discover you don't like it, that's the time to give it back.
Not to buy it with the intention of returning it, used. That really is dishonest.
