I thought we could have a thread for latest news. MN did say they didn't mind one or two threads. And no rules except stick to MN guidelines. It's Meghans birthday today I just read. And the Queen has wished her a very happy birthday on the royal Instagram page according to that popular Oracle the DM.

The DM has a photograph and article about the new house . Very modest with 9 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms , a tennis court and a swimming pool .

How eco friendly to purchase such a house. It is in a drought stricken (and thus also wildfire prone) area and water bills to keep the grass looking green will run a couple thousand a month. Santa Barbra is also an about 100 miles from LA so either they will be spending lots of time driving or perhaps just getting a private helicopter places.

Fire insurance ( about 40,000) and local property tax (prob about $200,000/year, and general running costs meant that these 2 numpties need to make $ 3/4 million per year pre tax just to baseline live in that house. They really are very optimistic on their earning potential.

It is quite possible that PH is telling the truth and didn't have any involvement in or prior knowledge of this biography. It is also possible that MM might have set the wheels in motion without ever mentioning this to PH until it was far, far too late

Like the papped photos of the "woodland walk" and "getting on the float plane" you mean, which were taken by the same agency MM was said to have used when acting? The very agency which H had already sued over images of the Cotswolds house, and who went AWOL once Harry got back to Canada?

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when that coincidence was explained ...

Yes I agree that it feels like H was not interviewed for the book and is unlikely to have had anything to with it. M clearly did, or Omid is a complete obsessive stalker who is utterly in love with M. I read the amazon reviews that liken it to a mills and boon novel, I think that's quite apt

17 bathrooms Shock So much for the simple life but hey ho this is Harry and Meghan. I saw a different one yesterday that was supposed to be 'the house'. It was much nicer but less than half the price. Can't remember where I saw it.

I’m not sure I’d describe it as ‘intimate’ but it is lovely.

Hopefully they will be happy there.

In addition to all those expenses that @Mominatrix listed, there will be all the staff that would be required - a team of cleaners/housekeepers, not to mention the garden upkeep.
Add that to the cost of their security, the funding for which hasn't ever really been established, and that's one hell of a lot of outgoings for two people who don't have jobs.

Actually that looks lovely. The pergola/patio thing looks very pretty.
Huge property for 3 people and yes to a huge cost to purchase and run, plus lots of staff required....
