I thought we could have a thread for latest news. MN did say they didn't mind one or two threads. And no rules except stick to MN guidelines. It's Meghans birthday today I just read. And the Queen has wished her a very happy birthday on the royal Instagram page according to that popular Oracle the DM.

The books seems to merely confirm that they find offence in everything and the tabloid rumours were true. It amazes me that the book is considered favourable towards H&M and their side of the story.

SunbathingDragon · 11/08/2020 23:50

Baby wipes are really bad for the environment so I’m surprised by Meghan using them and Harry being so delighted by this.

colouringindoors · 12/08/2020 00:00

Wow between The Mail and Times articles these guys are looking Seriously Narcissistic. And they did have potential for good. Crazy world.

YouSayWhat · 12/08/2020 00:32

Thanks for the share token!

WindsorBlues · 12/08/2020 00:54

I've been on following the H&M threads for awhile. Normally we would of had a bun fight by now... has Finding Freebies finally united us all?

Is it quiet because FF has now confirmed all the tabloid stories that pro posters where defending H&M against are true, and it makes it that much harder to defend them?

If the Sussexs are truly behind FF it really is the biggest own goal of the year.

Justmuddlingalong · 12/08/2020 01:10

🤔I can't believe they've not instructed lawyers to sue the authors of FF and also the friends who gave such private and personal information about the Sussex's.

OK. I can. 😜

Haven’t sued the five friends or People who also breached their/M’s privacy.
trixiebelden77 · 12/08/2020 02:40

I feel a bit sorry for William. He has quite a lonely (albeit fabulously wealthy) future with only a small number of people he can trust not to take stories about him to the press and this must make it clear he can’t trust his own brother.

WinnieTheW0rm · 12/08/2020 05:58

Gosh, that's a sad point, trixie

As the Sussexes say they didn't cooperate, I hope Harry has been explaining to his brother how they think such an astonishing level of detail has reached these two Royal reporters.

Even if they do not sue (and they have only gone to court for more (likely) clear cut legal inringements - such as long lens/drones/copyright) you'd think a couple who have always been so strident about privacy will be dismayed and doing all they can to get rid of the leaks.

And to reassure those who have been caught up in it - such as other family whose privacy is in tatters too - that t can be repaired

lifestooshort123 · 12/08/2020 07:31

I totally agree that it's own-goal-time and they must have collaborated or permitted one of the Famous Five to do so - unless there was a talking jackal in that African forest who reported back on her call of nature? Also, having just watched the recent TV documentary on Meghan (and I think Harry got 4 mins at the end?), she did seem quite relaxed in the market in Fiji and ignored her senior protection officer by standing and chatting to a woman on the way out when they were trying to whoosh her off. It's hard being a SPO when your charge ignores your experienced advice to 'shut up and get out of here' - I believe she resigned on their return? Anyway, the melt down quoted in the book looked as though it was from her security team cos, what Meghan wants, Meghan gets.

mrscampbellblackagain · 12/08/2020 07:43

I imagine Eugenie is pretty pissed off too. Can't see how Harry could ever be trusted by his close family ever again really. Let's hope it is all worth it for him.

Mominatrix · 12/08/2020 07:47

The most striking thing for me about this book and this whole saga is that it confirms all of the rumours and stories which were in the tabloids and I dismissed as just gossip. Their approved story shows them in a terrible light and gives credence to any future gossip revealed about these two.

Serious own goal and demonstrates a complete lack of perspective and judgement. They actually think that they have any authority become public morality lecturers who deserve to be paid millions of dollars for their insight?!? Based on their own authorised tale, not a chance.

mrscampbellblackagain · 12/08/2020 08:01

Indeed mominatrix, or to lecture about kindness! I just don't understand how the book and therefore I assume H&M seem to dislike/blame Kate. Harry and Kate always seemed to get on very well. I can see how she must be very hurt by it.

Oldbutstillgotit · 12/08/2020 08:13

Apparently H and M have bought a house in LA and moved into it .

MoiraRosesTransAtlanticDrawl · 12/08/2020 08:19

The book reads like a early draft for a movie. Lots of scene setting with detailed legwork into characters and their nuances. (Grace under fire, homecoming queen flashbacks etc) Meghan stretching into graceful yoga poses in the early African sunrise and product placements set around preferred fashion designers.

VanilIaSugarr · 12/08/2020 08:26

That is so going to end up on the Celeb Houses Bus Tour Route.

Eaumyword · 12/08/2020 08:31

This

meercat23 · 12/08/2020 08:33

I am utterly stunned by what I have seen of this book so far. I would be really interested to know whether H&M, and their supporters, really do feel that this is the story they wanted told.

YouSayWhat · 12/08/2020 08:33

This is a screen shot of a tweet which contains a page from Finding Freedom. The red line marks the bit where the authors say that they spoke with the Sussexes directly.

Sorry, quote fail! Meant to quote MoiraRoses and agree to that comment about it being an early vanity project for a terrible straight to TV movie, where the heroine undergoes terrible struggles, but her beauty alone means she has a happy ending!

Oldbutstillgotit · 12/08/2020 08:40

According to the DM ( sorry ) H and M told a “ source” that Perry’s house wasn’t H’s style . Seems a bit ungrateful having lived there free for months .

OVienna · 12/08/2020 08:53

@trixiebelden77 yup. Awful. Even if they do end up getting their shit together and calming down this book will always be in the background.

I got it free on Amazon audible. Only up to chapter five so far and nothing controversial, actually quite nice but I expect there will be more of note later.

Apropos of nothing, I like the pleasant, ordinary English voice of the reader. Sometimes 'hearing' a book can be a chore and this isn't.

longwayoff · 12/08/2020 09:24

I've packed my suitcase and have now, effortlessly, struck a perfect warrior pose. The excerpts are hilarious. If this is an example of their expert handling of their own publicity, I look forward to much more entertainment in the future. Blimey.

KrabbyPatties · 12/08/2020 09:26

I admit I bought the book

I can’t quite bring myself to read it... as you’d expect it’s nauseating and badly written so although I have the copy on my bedside table I am simply reading the DM for my tidbits.

One page is literally a list of the food they ate on Christmas Day..... talk about filler!!
