I thought we could have a thread for latest news. MN did say they didn't mind one or two threads. And no rules except stick to MN guidelines. It's Meghans birthday today I just read. And the Queen has wished her a very happy birthday on the royal Instagram page according to that popular Oracle the DM.

It is too much isn't it! It's almost as if PC and the holder of the Duchy of Cornwall is being love bombed...hmm.
Whatever has gone on behind the scenes and there's always two sides to the story etc, but to say PC is like a second father/more of a father etc must hurt to MM's actual family and to her actual father who raised and loved her.

DorisLessingsLesson · 11/08/2020 20:03

Maybe that was the point. The media is focused on the book settling scores with the RF but it could be settling scores with M's family too.

Eaumyword · 11/08/2020 20:14

Hadn't thought of that...!

In the Telegraph link it says

Meghan refused to go to Pippa Middleton’s wedding service because of the Sun splash that day - “It’s Meghan v Pippa in the Wedding of the Rears”.

I thought that Meghan hadn't been invited to Pippa's wedding as she and Harry were not yet engaged.

Andylion · 11/08/2020 20:20

Google tells me that Meghan did not attend the ceremony but was at the reception.

That prose style. Bloody hell. It reads like one of those terrible US Regency bodicerippers chronicling the romance of Mitchell Fortescue-Smythe, Duke of London and his impoverished but sparky paramour, Mary Sue.

This actually makes me less sure they had much to do with it, at least initially. Aren't they big pals with journalists like Bryony Gordon and Tom Bradby - surely they'd have made a much better job of an 'official side of the story'? Or maybe that's yet to come?

mrscampbellblackagain · 11/08/2020 21:00

Just read the review in the telegraph, golly, they are really going after staff aren't they? The night nanny, Angela Kelly, Melissa (their assistant) - all feels very unfair as they can't really retaliate.

Justmuddlingalong · 11/08/2020 21:08

Parts of FF seem to be written in the style of Barbara Cartland. Diana's step grandmother.

I’ve just googled to see the article and can’t find it. However, this one (also by The Sun) says it was so she wouldn’t detract from the wedding - www.thesun.co.uk/news/3612196/meghan-markle-invited-pippa-middletons-wedding-church-avoid-upstaging-bride-reception-spitfire-flypast/ although, of course, she was quite happy to announce her own pregnancy at another wedding so that seems at odds to me.
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 11/08/2020 21:19

I am cringing for the pair of them, they really have shown their true colours for the world to see, and it’s really not pretty, funny how a lot of things that their supporters on here claimed were lies are actually true, they all seem a bit quiet tonight.......

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 11/08/2020 21:22

I don’t think it was a wise move to blame her first husband on the break up of their marriage, he has not breathed a word about their relationship, he may feel differently now.

Is anyone rude reading these articles and just cringing ?

Oldbutstillgotit · 11/08/2020 21:59

Else ! Not rude .

SunbathingDragon · 11/08/2020 22:03

Whilst I will hypercritically discuss them on here, I’ve now decided I’ve seen enough news headlines about them and won’t click on anymore in future.

Just imagine how many more articles there would be of them if they hadn’t decided to be such private individuals! Grin

StartupRepair · 11/08/2020 22:03

Anyone kind enough to share the review in The Times?

YouSayWhat · 11/08/2020 22:35

We need a share token Sad

Oldbutstillgotit · 11/08/2020 22:36

Any news about H and M suing the authors ?

StartupRepair · 11/08/2020 23:09

Thank you @CraftyGin.

Eaumyword · 11/08/2020 23:11

Thank you for sharing the article, Crafty. Interesting and the press are largely cringing at the book and its contents.

Viviennemary · 11/08/2020 23:14

Yes. Thanks for sharing. I really don't see what the point of the book was. It doesn't really show them in a better light.
