And there are photos online of H and M’s visit your Homeboy Industries . Not a lot of Social distancing!

Cartesiandebt · 24/06/2020 20:33

These sorts of charity appearances with accompanying PR photos are all a bit ‘royal’ - especially when they’re attending in their capacity as ‘The Duke and Duchess...’ It does all smack a bit of trying to establish a rival court stateside

Viviennemary · 24/06/2020 20:38

Exactly, Cartesiandebt. They are trading on their royal name and need to be stopped. Still it might not get off the ground. Perhaps that is what the Queen is counting on.

Justmuddlingalong · 24/06/2020 21:09

Perhaps the first person M may want to discuss racial equality with should be H. His previous racist comments make a laughable mockery of any involvement. But, I suppose once they've decided on a new project, even the hypocrisy of that won't stop them.

How can a 13 month old baby start a litigation case? Did he say Sue when he meant to say shoe?

EthelMayFergus · 25/06/2020 09:23

Charles Purvey is a photographer for Splash, he's currently limiting who can see his tweets but before he protected them he claimed Meghan phoned Splash to organise pap photos before and since her wedding to Harry. He used an example of a photo of Meghan taken in front of Kensington Palace in 2015, that he had been instructed to take, and they keep receipts. I think Splash will defend this all the way. (I know so much more about the workings of the media and PR industries than I knew before lock down.)

TryAnotherNickname · 25/06/2020 09:30

It feels wrong that they’ve done this in Archie’s name- the ruling in Weller v daily mail hinges (I seem to recall) on the childrens’ privacy being infringed because they were identifiable. Given people thought that megs was walking a doll at the time and no face or other even vaguely identifying feature is visible, I’m not sure this is a good one. Wonder if it’s linked to the new law firm? Perhaps Harbottles advises against this one

Cartesiandebt · 25/06/2020 10:16

I read an interesting theory about this. The claim was that they reached a private settlement in a previous litigation against Splash (re pics of Cotswolds house, I think). No-one knows the amount of the settlement- But Let’s say it was £1. Soon thereafter, Splash was shooting further ‘exclusives’ of MM, allegedly after being tipped off by her team. Her team also tipped off Splash for the Canada pics. Now MM can make a point of taking action against them and reach another nominal settlement, thereby maintaining the impression that she is taking a stand against the paparazzi - all whilst continuing to provide Splash with underhand exclusives - and so everyone is happy 😃

Probably rubbish, but an interesting theory

Is this the day Lady C’s book is published ?

BlueTreeBlue · 25/06/2020 11:23

Yes it is!
I started reading the book on my Kindle this morning and so far it is a very balanced view.

EmeliaLily · 25/06/2020 11:24

I don't get how this thread gets so much traffic lol.

Viviennemary · 25/06/2020 11:45

It is indeed the day. I see Amazon has sold out of the hardcopy already and only kindle version available. I haven't got a kindle and was considering forking out. You'd think they'd have got enough stock in.

Oldbutstillgotit · 25/06/2020 11:52

I am curious to know about the alleged incident at the Garden Party. And yes I know I need to get a life !

Cartesiandebt · 25/06/2020 12:08

Won’t the highlights be published in the tabloids?

Cartesiandebt · 25/06/2020 12:10

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8455823/Prince-Andrews-disastrous-Newsnight-interview-silent-coup-against-Prince-Harry-claims-expert.html

This is a very odd & non-sensical story. Something about Charles and William plotting to get Harry out of the RF, but simultaneously claiming that Harry was plotting to leave for months.

Can someone else make sense of it?

ButteryPuffin · 25/06/2020 12:56

I've got the Kindle version of Lady C's book. Easier and cheaper, it popped up at midnight. I'll post about it when I've read a bit further.

Cartesiandebt · 25/06/2020 13:01

Thanks @butterypuffin

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 25/06/2020 13:04

Reviews on Amazon seem quite positive.

Roussette · 25/06/2020 14:35

Over a third are 1 Star
And quite amusing... someone put the purchase of it down to lockdown madness Grin

I suppose, just like on this thread, there are those that will lap it up and those that won't.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 25/06/2020 14:46

Perhaps my post would have been better written if I had said, “at the time of posting reviews on Amazon are quite positive”.

As with anything reviews will fluctuate between the good and the bad. I doubt very much Lady C will care what the reviews are as she will receive the royalties(!) whether the purchaser reads one chapter or the whole book.

I have not bought the book, nor do I intend doing so. The contents will end up on this board and newspapers and it will be interesting to see whether H&M decide to take legal action. If they do not that is telling.

Samcro · 25/06/2020 15:09

"If they do not that is telling."
and if they do they will be slammed for that.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 25/06/2020 15:19

Samcro considering they are suing MOS for lies in their reporting. If Lady C’s book contains even one lie or untruth I would expect them to sue. Books about H&M are going to be published in abundance and suing for untruths in the first one would send warning shots to all the rest.

I do not particularly like the way H&M have behaved and treated the UK public, however lies should not be printed about them and taken as fact. As I said, I will be interested to see what they do.

niveaessential · 25/06/2020 15:29

@Viviennemary you don't need to buy a kindle, you can use any free ebook program on your PC to read them
