BarleylemonPenguin, I think that sums up the situation. I wonder how much Harry really understands it, and so how well he could explain it to Meghan.

I can see them quietly fading into the background whilst cashing the cheques from Charles to be honest. I don’t think they have anywhere to go . It’s either that or come back with their tails between their legs. I don’t think they will ever do that.

They are very vulnerable to wealthy people with their own agendas who may want to sponsor them somehow. It was not great judgement to start their freedom with a house loan from a Russian oligarch.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do come back. I'm sure Harry won't spend the rest of his life in the USA.

@Puzzledandpissedoff, Cobblestone Lane LLC is the Delaware corporation that owns Archewell. Presumably, it is owned by HaM but that isn't publicly disclosed.

@BlueTreeBlue Jessica has not shown herself to be a nice person. The whole way she handled that situation was so odd, to pick out someone randomly and then threaten/ attack them.

I don't disagree that JM has not shown herself to be a nice person. However, I believe she assumed Sasha Exeter's call to tweeters to support BLM was directed at her personally. I'm not defending JM, just suggesting that, from JM's perspective, her response was not "out of the blue". I do think that demonstrates she either crafted a response after a few glass of tignanello, or she has a massive ego.

Meghan is going to need to be really careful about how she handles Jessica Mulroney. I would doubt she will be ghosting her as the DM is implying. She is far too dangerous.

First there is the court case, even if JM does not give evidence - she won't want her being hostile.

Secondly it is quite clear that JM plants a lot of stories in the press, can you imagine what will get leaked if she is burned and has nothing left to lose.

The best way, I think would for the pair of them to team up with a respected black journalist (Gayle King?) and do a 'fire side' type chat - JM uses it to rehab her image, MM gets to talk about BLM, publicly (but gently) chastise JM whilst being an advocate for using mistakes as an opportunity for growth and change.

Halo, but Sasha Exeter’s call was very generic and aimed at everyone with large followings, she never named Jessica Mulroney. So I still find it surprising that Jessica took such big offence to it! It’s all a bit mad!

Yes, I believe JM misread Sasha Exeter’s tweet. I’m not defending JM, and I definitely believe she used her privileged position to threaten Sasha Exeter.

I am wondering why JM thought that SE was aiming her message at her ? Was there already bad feeling ? It was such an OTT reaction .
It is tricky for MM but I agree that she will quietly maintain the friendship behind closed doors . At least until the court case is over !

@Roussette nobody’s saying they’re creaming off the charities. It’s simply a more sophisticated version of Celebrities doing a turn on children in need when they have a record / book / show to sell. Everyone benefits from the association and H&M get to justify taking a private jet and £1m to talk to bankers. The charity would never otherwise have had that donation so they’re up, and get to say “yes but look at the finds we made for our foundation by taking to bankers / wearing a specific watch/ doing an elephant voice over” or whatever it is (much like the alcoholics who promote booze for cash and insist on a donation being made to the Portman group to justify it)

Does anyone honestly listen to anything that Laurence Fox says? He showed himself up for what he is after calling racism 'boring' on Question Time, and worse, so him saying MM has left the UK for attention is a pretty irrelevant comment I would've thought...

I saw a post that I thought was very unfair in its insinuation, so I called it out, why is that me taking it personally?! It wasn't a dig at me, so not personal, you saying that is funny

I too find it a bit strange that Jessica thought this Sasha's tweets or whatever were aimed at her in particular. Unless there was more communication between them that wasn't made public. It did escalate quickly though. Who knows what is going on behind the scenes between Meghan and Jessica. Maybe she was waiting for an excuse to ditch J. Or maybe they're still friends. Who knows.

Oldbutstillgotit It's possible that JM took an opportunity to have a go at SE because SE has some inside info on JM, regarding *'merching'. Sasha's aunt works at the same station/channel.

*I think 'merching' is sourcing items from designers without paying, then a famous person wears them and the press name the item and the designer. If the wearer is very famous, the mercher can receive payment or keep the garment/jewellery. If the item is to be returned because of payment the clothes can look a bit off, because they haven't been tailored to fit the wearer.

I still think that H&M didn't quite intend to be in the position they are in. Their website back in January said they wanted to still do some royal duties and do the sort of half in half out thing. This would have been a lot better for them financially I suspect.

As others have said I think the reality of how much it costs to run their lifes is probably coming as a massive shock to Harry. I doubt he ever had to worry about how much rent/electricity/staff cost before as assume that was all covered by the RF.

And of course through covid into the mix and I think they are probably evaluating what their next steps are. Maybe they need to spend the next few years earning £££ and supporting charities but leave their own foundation/charity for a little bit further down the line when they are more secure.

And I know they are rich by most people's standards but not by LA standards.

This is why a lot of us were suspecting that Meghan was merching (maybe through JM) because a lot of her clothing at events were so ill-fitting.
