@jeffgoldblumlovespenguins

Shock Why did you post that? It completely proves my point.

The poster was being snide about my punctuation, I made a reference to Mean Girls. That was twisted to be about cancer. And that was disgusting. The poster had clearly leapt to the wrong conclusions but didn't have the grace to acknowledge it.

I think you should leave the posters on the other site, or go and join them.

YgritteSnow · 08/06/2020 14:35

Oh I remember that! I confess to being baffled as to why it's being mentioned now though.

Is it worth me even posting? I feel like this thread will be gone before the day is out.

I confess I find myself wondering how things would have gone for them if Covid and the current unrest hadn't happened. A few carefully chosen chat shows/pap moments etc. What was the plan? We will never know.

I feel like this thread will be gone before the day is out.

As long as the people who are bringing it up get the blame this time. All I've done is reply, on a thread that opened with an attack on me.

Cheetoz · 08/06/2020 14:40

I think we’d have definitely seen the Archewell and Instagram launch by now if it hadn’t been for covid.

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 08/06/2020 14:42

Covid has ruined everyone's plans, they could well have been a huge success by now,with a few charities under their belt?

Roussette · 08/06/2020 14:46

I'd like to think so.

An extension? As in, this is a temporary arrangement?!

Theres no way they can come back. It would mean complete and utter humiliation for them. Can you even imagine the headlines?

Wheresthebeach · 08/06/2020 15:18

I hope the Queen doesn’t extend it. They want to stand on their own two feet that’s great. Off they pop, but without UK tax payers money.

1forsorrow · 08/06/2020 15:19

I'm old and easily confused but I haven't got a clue what people are on about.

Re M&H and their plans, yes plans have gone to pot for most people. They will recover like everyone else, it is a pause not a full stop.

YgritteSnow · 08/06/2020 15:19

Theres no way they can come back. It would mean complete and utter humiliation for them. Can you even imagine the headlines?

I honestly think they would front it out.

Wolfgirrl · 08/06/2020 15:26

@1forsorrow

I'm not sure they can recover.

They relied on the momentum and drama from their departure to keep the spotlight on them for their big exit and unveiling of their new charity.

The world is a very different place to 4 or 5 months ago, the headlines will be dominated for months to come by the virus. Distancing will be in place for best part of a year quite likely. Which means no big film premieres, huge award ceremonies, crowds around a red carpet. The best they can do to network is releasing online videos, but really, who wants to hear from this privileged couple now?

It will be months before life goes back to normal, by that point I think interest in them will have waned a lot as people try to put their lives back together. Financially I cant imagine they're in any place to launch new enterprises, neither of them have any steady income and they are facing huge bills in terms of security, finding a permanent home etc

Wolfgirrl · 08/06/2020 15:29

@YgritteSnow

Omg can you imagine 😳😂

I cant see it happening, unless they literally have no money left

FrippEnos · 08/06/2020 15:32

YgritteSnow

I honestly think they would front it out.

And any naysayers will be classed as racists.

thecognoscenti · 08/06/2020 15:37

I think it's a good opportunity to express empathy - acknowledge that yes, their plans have been disrupted, and so have lots of other people's.

Roussette · 08/06/2020 15:37

I don't agree, sorry.

I would like to think that post-COVID the world has perhaps become a kinder place and maybe looking after those that struggle becomes more commonplace for some who perhaps didn't get involved before.

Everyone's lives have been touched by this in all sorts of ways. It's almost like the world has had its reset button pressed.

I want to hear from them because I think they have always been into good causes, philanthrophy and helping. That view will not go down well on this thread I'm sure.
Harry has merged Invictus with his veterans charity - I hope that that goes from strength to strength when the pandemic subsides.

I think everyone's lives wil be changed, they're no different, and I'm sure they will find ways round the obstacles in their way, to make a difference.

Roussette · 08/06/2020 15:39

ooops spelling.... philanthropy, that should read

YgritteSnow · 08/06/2020 15:39

And any naysayers will be classed as racist

As ever.

Roussette · 08/06/2020 15:43

How tiresome. I thought we were trying to have a decent conversation.

Obviously not.

otterturk · 08/06/2020 15:46

God who bloody cares.

Wolfgirrl · 08/06/2020 16:22

@Roussette

But what do you want to hear from them that you cant hear from somebody better qualified?

Roussette · 08/06/2020 16:48

They obviously have intentions to take forward some of their charitable work, and connect with other charities and when COVID is over, I hope they get the opportunity.

When I say I want to hear from them, I mean I hope they get that opportunity, that's all.

There are very many people, celebrities and otherwise who aren't the slightest bit qualified to do good with their name and/or their wealth, but they do it. Should we squash them as well and label them as not qualified?

ToastedHaMSandwich · 08/06/2020 17:40

I continue to think it heightens the discussion of what do we pay the royals to do. And how many royals we need. HMQ can spend her money on what she wants. But the taxpayer money needs open accounts.

ToastedHaMSandwich · 08/06/2020 17:44

H&M do not want to be royals.

Simples. Granny or Daddy keeps them. I need to know none of my hard earned tax is funding them.

I continue to be furious about the extravagant damn wedding. When it is now obvious H wanted out from the start. But seems to appear was offered low key and no title for MM which was declined to be super thrilled at joining the RF to ‘hit the ground running’ having not known he was a prince when she met him

Wolfgirrl · 08/06/2020 17:46

@Roussette they dont make it their main source of income. I feel 'charity' is a bit of a smokescreen for H&M, I think they plan it to be a big earner on the speaking circuit. But that's just me 🤷‍♀️
