Hey Jeff 👋🏻 nice to see you Smile

The Sun published a story saying that H was finding his feet in LA thanks to his friendship with Liza Minnelli. She has tweeted that she wishes H and M well but has never met them

Lol that made me chuckle. How random!

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 15/06/2020 11:35

Thank you bluebell , yes that was odd!
Where did they get that story from🤔, such an odd thing to invent?

Does anyone else think Meghan is pregnant with their second baby and keen to conceal it for as long as possible?

ButteryPuffin · 15/06/2020 21:31

If she's pregnant, that's happy news for them, though last time they seemed pretty quick out of the blocks to announce it - as in I believe it was before 12 weeks. Their choice of course.

2littleguineas · 15/06/2020 21:41

That's true but there again given how much negativity Meghan got while pregnant and for apparently announcing it to family at Eugenie wedding they may well decide to keep an future pregnancy to themselves for as long as possible.

Indeed they may possibly show up one day back in the UK with a new additionGrin
I know someone who did this, but you'd need to be a bit crazy for that level.

Becles · 15/06/2020 22:16

Very disingenuous to phrase the comment that way.

They announced because they were about to embark on a major south Pacific tour. They were pencilled to visit several countries with a high Zika virus risk.

Plans were amended and they also advised some others may change at the last minute. Despite this they carried out a shed load of engagements and no one could suggest MM shirked her duties or used her pregnancy as an excuse to bring the crown into disrepute.

Part of the issue with the allegations of profligate spending is that the people comparing her to Kate decided to ignore the implications of acquiring a whole new royal wardrobe, a pregnancy wardrobe and two major foreign tours in the space of a couple of years.

caperberries · 15/06/2020 22:26

Yes I thought she looked slightly pregnant in those ‘pap’ shots delivering the meals on wheels so it wouldn’t surprise me.

Not an ideal time perhaps, given they don’t seem to have a permanent home yet, presumably they’ll be sorting that out soon.

ButteryPuffin · 15/06/2020 22:30

The 'Their choice' bit was about what they do now. Which they can freely choose, being private independent citizens and all. The tour was a problem, I take your point there. Though the speculation started with the generously cut coat at Eugenie's wedding.

EthelMayFergus · 15/06/2020 22:41

During a 3 day tour to Morocco Meghan wore a £90,000 Dior 'kaftan dress' which is unlikely to be worn again. I'll stick to calling that 'profligate spending', because it is.

I googled for that Dior dress on the Morocco tour. It does have an interesting detail on the shoulders, but otherwise it's a simple style with added bling on the edges.

But I'm intrigued as to how one ends up with a 90thousand Dior dress. Does one get one's staff to phone Dior and ask for something suitable bespoke, or does one's staff spot a spiffy Dior dress and one asks for a custom-made version?

I have no idea how this all works. The closest I've ever come to a personal clothing experience is a Debenhams personal shopper. (Who did very well, actually.)

MissEliza · 16/06/2020 02:26

@hoteltango I feel the same. I hope it's not true.

BlueTreeBlue · 16/06/2020 07:09

The money spent on that Moroccan dress is ridiculous. How can a dress even cost that much money! That is why for me she will never be a true charitable person or humanist, because if you were, you wouldn’t make those choices. It’s a small thing but it’s a tell of her thought process.

The kaftan was worn a year last February. I agree, how can a dress cost that much though. I wonder if she was gifted it? As famous people often are... just wearing the label is enough for some fashion ,houses.

Do hope Meghan is expecting again, that would be great news if they an avoid the negative press about it.

I've read that the RF really clamped down on this at the end of last year and it caused a major flashpoint, which was one of the things that triggered their exit announcement

Really?

I doubt they left because Meghan couldn't wear a free outfit, that seems somewhat bizarre. I can't imagine they left because of that, seems somewhat trivial in the big scheme of things.

Samcro · 16/06/2020 07:58

how can a dress cost that much? and who would pay that much?
at the end of the day its a dress. how can any dress be that special.

Halo84 · 16/06/2020 08:00

It has nothing to do with a free outfit. Merchandisers are paid for wearing certain products. I am not suggesting Meghan Markle did this, just that you misunderstand what’s been suggested.

Roussette · 16/06/2020 08:04

Ahhh.. OK. One of the reasons she left wasn't because she was paid to wear certain outfits, and that was stopped by the RF.

I hadn't heard of the term 'merchandiser' as such. I can imagine it happens, I just didn't know the term. Thanks. Smile

Halo84 · 16/06/2020 08:04

and who would pay that much?

Obviously, Meghan Markle, or rather, Prince Charles for Meghan Markle.
