It portably does, just as much as the Commonwealth exchange probably did too.

caperberries · 13/06/2020 10:54

I’ve found it’s easy to be to polite and pleasant to people I don’t like or disapprove of when they are in their way out the door

Ballet1992 · 13/06/2020 11:02

Having rewatched that video - a previous poster was right - the person saying "I can't there are cameras" does appear to be off screen.

I doubt there's much to the garden party story. Harry has shown himself to be a terrible actor (see the Commonwealth service), and there's no hint of tension between H&M and C&C.

There's plenty of footage of M clearly not 100% of protocol over the years, as she hesitates, and looks to H for guidance.

Even she looks relaxed at what was one of her first public events post wedding.

I guess it's probably standard to acknowledge that some member of the RF draw additional attention at different times. Immediately post wedding H&M would be outshining all other royals.

So I think it's probably natural that things are arranged so others get their share of the spotlight.

As it's Charles's 70th, I can imagine it was engineered so that they showed their faces in a show of support, but then left so they weren't taking attention away from Charles.

The RF carefully time speeches/announcements etc so they don't over shadow each other, so this is only an extension of that.

Samcro · 13/06/2020 11:17

so now she doesn't get on with Camilla.
you couldn't make it up.

SunbathingDragon · 13/06/2020 11:20

I think Camilla is very good at being pleasant and having a public face on. After all, she has had many many years of dealing with critics and just getting on with things without making a fuss. So I wouldn’t read anything into her politely saying goodbye to someone in a public setting. Equally, I wouldn’t read much into the way she smiled and said “of course” because to me it looked as if she could have just been exasperated with H&M being asked about again and again and possibly taking away from the charity she was there for focus on and support.

Roussette · 13/06/2020 11:26

Would you kiss them and hold their hand though? To do so would be a bit two faced AFAIC. Camilla made a point of coming over to do that, so I really don't believe there's been a falling out, to me it's clutching at straws to discredit MM.

If there's someone in my life I really dislike, I try not to rock boats for the sake of peace, but I wouldn't be kissing them and holding their hand!

Roussette · 13/06/2020 11:27

I know! To coin a phrase about the Queen, 'I'm highly amused'!

Sousone · 13/06/2020 11:30

I cannot believe posters have suggested Kate deliberately flashes and have posted photos of her underwear.

What a horrible thing to do. To share such an invasion of privacy as that.

On previous threads, videos and photos of Meghan were removed for similar. The huge difference being that Meghan had actually posed for them.

Why is there such a difference in moderation between Kate and Meghan comments?

@thisenglishlife I get that you were providing ‘proof’ that the images exist but if I were you I’d ask for that post to be deleted. It’s really distasteful.

FruitPastillesaregood · 13/06/2020 12:07

I agree Sousone

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 13/06/2020 12:53

Crikey, this thread is getting better and better.

I like Rousette’s suggestion about a scuffle behind the rhododendron bushes. Meghan is obviously a dangerous individual who needs to be escorted off the premises. And she regularly sticks her tongue out at other senior royals. And Kate is a compulsive knicker (or more) flasher who needs to be cautioned about this habit.

I never realised how interesting the British royal family was Grin. And then people tell us to stop these threads....

TheNavigator · 13/06/2020 12:55

Also, these women live in an environment when a microsecond of time can be captured and blown up, showing an image that no-one there observing with their own eyes would have been able to see.

Exactly and it totally discredits the pictures of MM supposedly sticking her tongue out or looking bitchily at someone. They could be microseconds caught and then used against her over and over again. No wonder she wanted out.

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 13/06/2020 13:09

Clearedfortakeoff, I disagree with you regarding this Jessica person though (if I understood your post correctly?). I don’t know the details of whatever she is supposed to have done. At the moment there seem to be a lot of headlines. I do hope that if she has done something illegal that she is punished with the full force of the law. If she has acted in racist/misogynistic way I hope this is exposed fully so that the people who actually care about this person can see her for what she is.

However, I don’t think anyone can be judged based on the actions of others (except to some extent parents of badly behaved children). Meghan is her friend, not her mother and I doubt that she would have seen any racism given that she asked her to be her maid of honour. Which obviously does not say that it never happened, just that it is unlikely to have happened in front of Meghan.

mrscampbellblackagain · 13/06/2020 13:20

I think the whole tongue poking is a non issue and just an unfortunate snap. And the leaving the garden party seems much ado about nothing to me.

I have reported the post with images of Kate's bottom as pretty sure the poster concerned didn't really want to put those images up there. Or at least I hope not, what next the topless photos of her?

OfflineFor40Years · 13/06/2020 13:24

I can't believe that the post with pictures of Kate hasn't yet been removed. Christ, @MNHQ, why are you letting a photo which is no better than an upskirt stay on your site.

The posting of the unwarranted photo ops of a woman's arse, which are more than likely to have caused her embarrassment, is pretty shameful and is completely against 'the spirit of Mumsnet', surely.

Sousone · 13/06/2020 13:26

Fully agree @OfflineFor40Years

It’s made all the more bizarre by the fact MNHQ deleted modelling photos of Meghan on previous threads for having far less on show.

EthelMayFergus · 13/06/2020 13:29

I agree, posting pictures of a woman's bare bottom without their consent is a pretty horrible thing to do. Would you like that done to you thisenglishlife?

StartupRepair · 13/06/2020 13:34

The garden party was 4 days after that happy wedding and I would imagine that they were all still on a high from that.

SunbathingDragon · 13/06/2020 13:41

Especially since the poster has made a point of making out most on this thread are bullies!

Sousone · 13/06/2020 13:51

Yes it doesn’t lend well to their narrative of being here to balance out the negativity.

thisenglishlife · 13/06/2020 14:01

I've reported my own post, I should have linked instead or something else. The images were in the newspapers though.
I haven't said anyone was a bully. I have said that I felt Meghan was overly criticised (look at the theories here).
I haven't said anything negative about Kate. Someone else brought up the bottom issue and then they were accused of not telling the truth.
One of the posters said that Meghan should do more for one one patron and I compared it to two failing ones from other royals.
Someone else said that H&M's numbers were low and I showed that they had done about the same as W&K. All the younger royals could do better though.

SunbathingDragon · 13/06/2020 14:30

I haven't said anything negative about Kate.

Apart from what you posted with photographs, which has now been deleted. Since you believe MNHQ allow all kinds of malicious posts, it’s telling that even they drew the line at yours!

Sousone · 13/06/2020 14:31

That’s fair @thisenglishlife Flowers

Disappointing moderation from MNHQ though.

MangoFeverDream · 13/06/2020 15:44

I haven’t seen one photo of Kate’s naked backside. Or her thongs

It’s not the kind of stuff even the DM would print (being British and all). But the US sites don’t care and print that stuff. She’s had a lot of mishaps and seemingly resisted putting weights in her hems for a long time there but it doesn’t seem to really happen anymore.

Samcro · 13/06/2020 16:02

So outrage aat someone doing something that isn't deemed nice about Kate.
On a thread where there is a lot of made up stuff about Meghan.
Double standards much.

mrscampbellblackagain · 13/06/2020 16:15

Come on Samcro, surely you would object at any upskirt photos of any woman? I certainly do. I would have reported them if they had been of Meghan as well.
