Hardly the same thing, Wolfgirrl. If she did, at least she wasn't hustling for work

LaMarschallin · 04/05/2020 12:47

thenightsky

Lion-hearted Meg with her little, freckled face.
Mills & Boon heroine in the making. I wonder if she looks in the mirror in the mornings and frowns at the fact that her waist is just a little too small, her legs a little too long and her hair much too glossy and thick. grin

That's excellent - you've caught the style perfectly Smile

derxa · 04/05/2020 12:48

I posted on the wrong thread so that's why the post doesn't fit in with the discussion.

Wolfgirrl · 04/05/2020 12:48

@derxa maybe look into it then in the interest of fairness? See what weak excuse you can come up with?

derxa · 04/05/2020 12:52

@derxa maybe look into it then in the interest of fairness? See what weak excuse you can come up with? You seem to think that MN is a court of law or a headmistress's study. I'm chatting on this site instead of getting on with some work. Just like most people.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/05/2020 12:54

Harry chose to snub a Royal Marines memorial service ... The 30th anniversary of an IRA bomb which killed 11 Royal Marines in Deal

To my shame, I hadn't realised it was the 30th anniversary of the IRA murders
Regardless of what anyone else has or hasn't done, I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when they learned what he'd ditched them for ... somehow I can't see that going down terribly well with the military

RosesandIris · 04/05/2020 12:57

I think the annexe might be for the nanny or security team.
I agree I think her relationship with Doria is not as close as might be assumed. Doria is all she’s got now though in the way of family.

@derxa supposed to be working but doing something else instead - living up to your idols I see!

Ok I'll save you the time, here it is:

MissHoskins · 04/05/2020 13:00

Aah, Wolfgirrl is back for another dig at the Duchess of Cambridge.

CallmeAngelina · 04/05/2020 13:06

I've no idea of the reasons behind that, although it is arguably a better reason for ditching that Harry hustling for work for Meghan. But at least it goes to show that M&H aren't the only ones who are criticised in the press.

Inspiralcarpetry · 04/05/2020 13:11

I really enjoyed her her lion-hearted, freckled faced speech. Did she honestly say that stuff?! If so, there's the issue right there.
Royals are meant to promote their cause/charity not themselves.
Brits consider it vulgar to tell everyone how amazing they are.
I must thank them and these threads for getting me through lockdown boredom/stress. They won't shut up, will they!
It's like Wayne's World: I don't like you any more, well go then! I am going! Well go! I am going! (Repeat to fade..)

Supersimkin2 · 04/05/2020 13:13

H&M are desperate to prove there's been a targeted hate campaign against Meghan. Preferably run by the EDL.

They're up a gum tree with that because they'll need evidence, and the one person who delivers the most stories about Meghan is Meghan.

Why the hell she didn't get one of those Hollywood agents who keep you out of the papers except to promote, who knows. Everyone else manages it. She just calls the papers herself in the mornings. I suppose it's cheaper.

MissEliza · 04/05/2020 13:14

I didn't realise it was the 30th anniversary. That is shit. I'm old enough to remember when it happened.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/05/2020 13:20

You and me both, MissEliza, which is why I'm a bit ashamed of myself for not realising

I suppose, in our defence, the RF attend so many military "events" that they sort of blend into each other without us twigging the greater importance of some

Wolfgirrl · 04/05/2020 13:25

@CallmeAngelina

So if Harry had missed the marines event because he wanted to 'spend time with Archie' you wouldve been like, ah that's cool?

I dont like Meghan but I believe in fairness. Which is why I dislike them all equally.

But you cant froth at the mouth at something Meghan does then kick it into the long grass when kate does it.

CallmeAngelina · 04/05/2020 13:29

But it wasn't "kicked into the long grass!" Kate got severely criticised for it.
And hasn't Harry been "spending more time with Archie" pretty much constantly since they disappeared for more "family time" last October?

If the five friends are indeed fabrications and it was MM, it’s not going to be pretty in court under cross examination..

Grin
Wolfgirrl · 04/05/2020 13:31

@CallmeAngelina yes but not on this thread. All of her misdemeanors are instantly forgiven 'because she's Kate'. And for some reason people feel like they cant truly hate Meghan without loving kate, they have to pick a side.

As for Harry, probably, I dont like him either so that isnt some kind of excuse for Kate's behaviour.

EthelMayFergus · 04/05/2020 13:31

Harry and the military.

Kate and the Irish Guards.

You think they're the same? The Irish Guards were as big a part of Kate's life as the military was to Harry's? Seriously?

ChinUpChestOut · 04/05/2020 13:34

Not being a Marketing Expert or anything remotely like that, I have wondered why they didn't bog off and get some experience or genuine credentials in the things that are important to them?

Couldn't they have lived for a couple of years on a game reserve somewhere in Africa? Harry could have run the anti-poaching programme, and Meghan could have led a Women's Rights/Training/Mentoring programme. And then come back nicely suntanned and full of beans about their wonderful experience and promptly go on the lecture/fundraising circuit?

Why did they get this so wrong? I genuinely wanted them to succeed, and can't understand why they went this route. What a wasted opportunity.

MissEliza · 04/05/2020 13:35

@Puzzledandpissedoff that does make me feel old. I don't see why he couldn't have done both.

Allflightscancelled · 04/05/2020 13:37

It would definitely not have been as bad if Harry had dumped the military event for spending time with Archie. It wouldn't have been great, but it wouldn't have been totally seedy, which touting for work with Disney definitely was.

Also it's not true that we've all picked sides. I don't like Meghan, and I'm not very keen on the rest of them either.

Wolfgirrl · 04/05/2020 13:37

@EthelMayFergus

So kate should be forgiven because she cares less about her work and therefore shouldn't be expected to turn up? Is that supposed to be admirable?

Either way they both failed in their duty for weak excuses.

MrSheenandMe · 04/05/2020 13:41

Harry was Captain General of the Royal Marines. He was also in the military for 10 years.

The (Shamrock) event was to honour the dead - men blown up in England. His alternative was a celebrity party which he did not need to attend.

As I remember Kate's role was ceremonial. She was the mother of two young children at the time and about to leave for a tour abroad, (India I think), and had been doing other stuff. William did it instead. She got a lot of criticism for it nonetheless.

MrSheenandMe · 04/05/2020 13:43

Sorry - mistake. - the MARINES event was to honour the dead. The SHAMROCK event was ceremonial - (but not less important) Sorry - (idiot!! Blush )
