When I checked it is available for £20, £9.99 on Kindle. Who is going to pay £20 for that ?

oh FFS why cant I bloody edit?! asking why her shoes were always too big...

Probably so no one could accuse her of being too big for her boots (and shoes)

Allflightscancelled · 05/05/2020 15:58

I've just found it on Amazon.co.uk. I won't be buying it either. I mean I'd quite like a sneaky look so I can laugh, but I'm not doing anything that could line their pockets

LolaSmiles · 05/05/2020 16:00

£20!

Bloody hell. Decent non fiction books are usually around £15.

Allflightscancelled · 05/05/2020 16:03

This one's going to be indecent Grin

thisenglishlife · 05/05/2020 16:09

The title alone is a calculated insult to the royal family
That's on the publisher and writers

ajandjjmum · 05/05/2020 16:22

Grin Of course, Meghan would be quite happy to have no input on the title!

LaMarschallin · 05/05/2020 16:34

I'm not sure which paper they'll ever be able to "collaborate" with again.
The Guardian used to be very sympathetic towards them:

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/05/harry-and-meghan-are-trying-to-rebrand-themselves-but-they-should-take-a-breather

Maybe before going full-steam ahead with their rebrand, our fearless freedom finders should take a bit of a breather, lay low and avoid baiting the media. After all, there is a fair bit going on in the world; they may soon find that we are not all as desperate to hear about them as they seem to think.

WinnieTheW0rm · 05/05/2020 16:35

I now have the £9.99 and £20 version to order in advance.

Maybe the 'not available' message is one that appears routinely on Amazon for admin reasons during price adjustments?

ButteryPuffin · 05/05/2020 16:43

I will be getting the Kindle version. No need to fell trees for this! Plus I can then report back super quickly.

SadOrWickedFairy · 05/05/2020 16:47

I agree that the article with several pictures of MM's feet which she reportedly doesn't like being pictured was below the belt, but I have a feeling the DM are sitting on a raft of stories like this which they held off from printing whilst they were part of the RF press co-operation team. As soon as H&M did the statement about refusing to speak with certain UK tabloids the gloves came off and now they will print all the stories they have been sitting on and find new ones from people who knew and/or worked with/for Meghan and may have something less than complimentary to say. It was a stupid move from H&M - the old saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer is one they should have heeded.

mateysmum · 05/05/2020 17:05

The cover alone tells you the type of fantasy world this couple live in. Freedom from what exactly and "making a modern royal family", well seeing as they have now conclusively distanced themselves from said family that claim sounds rather far fetched. Or rather they have distanced themselves from everything except Daddy's cheque book.
Funny that.
It also smacks very much of an Americanised view of the monarchy and chimes precisely with M's attitude.

Best thing we can all do is just not buy this book. Don't give them the oxygen of publicity. oh no I'm not dying of curiosity, not at all

miri1985 · 05/05/2020 17:10

I just don't understand what the book is supposed to do, do they think it will change peoples perception of them?
The people magazine article with her friends speaking out about how great a friend she is didn't change anyones opinion of MM (the resulting court case has definitely worsened it), the ITV documentary where we got surviving not thriving didn't help anything nor did the comment H&W are on different paths.
I don't see what could be said about them in this book that would change hearts and minds about them rather I think it will do even more damage to their image. They already have so many leaks if there were things to explain their behaviour before now I imagine it would have come out.

We know that what works to rehabilitate a RF members reputation is working hard and putting your head down. In the 90's I would never have predicted that Camilla would be looked on so favourably by the majority of people

caperberries · 05/05/2020 17:15

I can well imagine MM fancies herself as a latter-day Jackie O, ready to found a new Camelot, rather than the Wallis Simpson mark II that most people seem to see her as.

Interesting to see some criticism of them in the Grauniad, that's quite a volte face from their usual stance

YgritteSnow · 05/05/2020 17:16

You'd be livid about that article though wouldn't you? Absolutely livid and she can do nothing. I didn't read it as I genuinely don't like feet or want to look at anyone except my own and my children's but I did wince a bit at the headline.

SadOrWickedFairy · 05/05/2020 17:16

Me neither, and Camilla was subjected to a mountain of negative and nasty press coverage.

katiegoestoaldi · 05/05/2020 17:21

You can also return it within a week for a refund Buttery

thisenglishlife · 05/05/2020 17:26

Read and return? That's not fair.

katiegoestoaldi · 05/05/2020 17:35

It's a quirk of kindle

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 05/05/2020 17:59

Ouch that article. I see the press uniting. Piss one off maybe piss off the lot.

7Worfs · 05/05/2020 18:13

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 05/05/2020 18:16

Yep the media will definitely close ranks. And I bet they are ALL sitting on a mountain of stories which if they chose to, they could publish. "Sources reveal" etc.

Ineedabreak19 · 05/05/2020 18:33

I see MM as a cross between Anne Boleyn and Wallis Simpson.

BlueChangling · 05/05/2020 18:41

Anne Boleyn and Wallis Simpson both magaged to bag a king though

Wolfgirrl · 05/05/2020 18:43

Why Anne Boleyn?
