Has anyone pre-ordered Finding Freedom? I've read the promotional foreword and it just seems far worse than I thought it would be, like the kind of personal promotion Trump would use (in his great and unmatched wisdom). Did they collaborate with Scobie on this as early as last summer do you think? I had heard that MM had taken notes when in the company of senior members of the royal family, and to be honest I hadn't believed it, but if they have been involved with this book since last summer? Well then, I would believe it.

I think I read somewhere it was supposed to come out last year, and I suspect it all started out quite genuinely as a means of promoting the Sussex Royal brand - but of course that all went pear-shaped.

Then along came Megxit which no doubt called for a hurried rewrite. I don't think Harry will want to diss or embarrass his family, but of course, it's not him that's writing it, so ultimately the content will be down to the authors and the publishers. It's a biography, not an autobiography - big difference.

Will Scobie & Durand stitch up HaM for a quick fix of fame and fortune, or will they brown-nose them, hoping to be the conduit for exclusive scoops going forward?

That's a hard one, because I'm not convinced Archewell is going to have much impact , so who knows which way they will play it.

The publishing house says it was written “with the participation of those closest to the couple,” but the sources will probably stay ~secret~ for obvious reasons.

Ooh I volunteer in a charity shop I am looking forward to reading excerpts in between customers when you all offload them in the autumn.

I haven't RTWT and am not a particular fan of H&M but this is from Town and Country magazine: "While the authors promise sources that offer the inside scoop on the royal couple, it is understood that this is not an official or endorsed project by Harry or Meghan, and it doesn't claim to have interviews with the couple, as was previously rumored".

So, if true, the flack this couple have been getting in two threads doesn't appear to be justified.

Yeah, right. Another set of 'friends' setting the record straight who didn't check if speaking out was OK? Do they really think we're that stupid?

Maybe it is is a stitch up and they're now trying to distance themselves from any negative content.

This is not an official or endorsed project by Harry or Meghan. I think they're distancing themselves due to the initial feedback. Scobie is supposed to be her friend and it sounds like the book is very sycophantic. I'm not sure how many more times she can claim that her friends are talking to the press without her knowledge. It doesn't happen to other royals, and didn't happen to Harry previously.

God that Daily Mail piece about the anonymous videographer and the supposed foot scar is unhinged, though. And really unpleasant. They go too far.

In reluctant fairness to her I imagine a lot if her friends are hollywood types who would ho to the press in the hope of favour later. Not suggesting everyone in LA is like that but she will know a lot of people who work to promote themselves in any way they can.

I'd say writing some book slagging off the family that's still giving you money goes too far, personally.

Omid Scobie has been very supportive of H and especially M. For him to write a completely unauthorised biography without a nod from them would be highly risky as he needs them as much as they need him.

If it isn't endorsed/done with cooperation then surely they would put out a statement to say so. The original articles about it said that they had been interviewed for it but now its being walked back. If their friends are telling tales while they're literally fighting a court case because of one of them spilling about the letter, then they have terrible "friends"

I agree about the DM article about the foot scar @JamieLeeCurtains it goes too far. Having had bunions or not liking your feet does not make you a bad person
