Following on from Harry and Meghan Biography

A bit of a lurker on this thread, I’m not really sure how I feel about Harry and Meghan. But the military thing isn’t comparable. As previously said, who knows why Kate didn’t go? She could’ve been ill, one of her young children could’ve been ill. It could’ve been anything.

She has a full time nanny. And william. She was being lazy.

Harry decided to go to a film premiere to promote his wife instead of the marine event. He was being selfish and greedy.

It's not either/or or a competition. They both failed in their duty.

As pp said they could have covered both events, the marines and Disney, it would have given Meghan a chance to go to something on her own, but then of course she wouldn’t have been able to tout for work, better Harry does it, then she can play ignorant.

I'm leaving these threads again. I keep joining and then leaving as some twat comes along trying to derail the discussion. Every. Time.

Agreed. The Irish Guards was HIS patronage, so Kate not attending, especially to be with her children ahead of an international tour, isn't a big deal. No matter what the Kate haters say.

Harry blowing off the Marines IS a big deal. For one thing - it is his patronage, and the reason he blew off the Marines is to make a pitch to Disney.

My search of 'Finding Freedom' had a book about conquering Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as the top hit.

But as the Scobie/Durand book is apparently already a best seller based on advance sales, so I guess that'll be everyone's first hit now.

Kate could, of course, have been unwell herself. She's had three horrible pregnancies, but appeared to do as much as she could when she was well enough.

Why should a mother be forced to leave a sick child with a nanny ?
We don't know if that was the reason but if my child was ill and needed me that is where I would be. Royal wife or not your children come first .

I’m going to ignore now as it’s just stopping the conversation flow. I’m mid 50’s & haven't had to answer to a teacher since I left school nearly 40 years ago. I don’t intend to start now.

If you're comparing apples to apples, Meghan should also have gone to the memorial for the Marines, accompanying her husband.

Well, I can do and have done - to attend nativity plays, school class assemblies etc. It's not unusual for working parents to prioritise their children over work once in a while. Also, even if you have a nanny, there are sometimes things that someone with parental authority needs to be there for.

What have they done that's going to fill up 368 pages?

And as for #1 bestseller - well, what book isn't, according to the covers?

I am starting to think this board is bullshit.

I’m fascinated to see how they manage to weave the ‘freedom’ concept into the book, given the ‘family Meghan never has’ comment, their Em recent effusively public recent birthday wishes to HMQ and the fact that MM Was only ‘royal’ for 18 months, much of it spent away from the public eye.

I’m placing bets on the last sentence being something along ... ‘ who knows what the next steps on their wonderful new journey will be... but it will be their journey (or dance/story)’🤢

Kate may have been unwell herself, she might have had an early miscarriage. It was the year that Louis was conceived.

Who knows. Only a very few people would be privy to that.
But I just think on past and current form, we should give her some slack re her non appearance at the Irish Guards thingy.
