Prince Charles can in no way fund the lifestyle they want to have, and it has been reported that Charles and Andrew have always been quite jealous of the mega rich who can afford the type of billionaire lifestyles they want with no public duty. Hence why some members of the RF have been under the awe of sheiks/dodgy billionaires

Charles is quite rich. He could probably live more ostentatiously but it would raise eyebrows so he has to content himself with a few palaces and castles.

@Serenster the shamrocks have been presented by a female royal since 1901. Kate was always supposed to present them, not William. As for giving her a free pass, if you phoned work to tell them you weren't coming in as you wanted time with your kids, what would they say? If one of them was poorly the nanny or William could have looked after them.

@EthelMayFergus are you a marine? Because the same logic could be applied to your criticism of Harry.

@YgritteSnow doesnt make you judge jury and executioner as to what the entire military think. Some would say harry swapped one 'work' commitment for another whereas Kate just lazily stayed at home despite having a nanny. In my opinion both showed them up to who they really are - Harry a wannabe celebrity and Kate very workshy.

The reason I pipe up is because there isnt a single H and M thread where they are critiqued without sycophantic and hypocritical fawning over the Cambridges.

Either compare fairly or don't, but you can't claim most of the misdemeanors committed by Harry havent been made by Kate and William at some point as well.

Wolfgirrl I'm not upset that he didn't turn up though, to the point where I would say to a complete stranger that the excuse was pathetic and you know it is (you have no idea what I know). Charles net worth has been estimated at anywhere between £100-400m.

He receives just over £21m a year from the Duchy of Cornwall and has received that income since he became Prince of Wales nearly 50 years ago.

He pays William and Harry around £4m a year to fund their offices/staff.

So whilst he is likely to have substantial outgoings, I'm sure he'll have a pretty impressive portfolio of assets and investments.

So yes, I think it's fair to say Charles is "quite rich".

Spending time with your children is not pathetic. Having a nanny is irrelevant. Kate stayed home not because she didn’t have child care, but because she wanted to spend time with her children!

Does William have to keep paying Harry once he inherits the Duchy of Cornwall? That's gonna be hilarious if he cuts him off. Although, of course, it won't matter because Harry will be financially independent as per his statement of intention. People just can't wait to hand Ginge and Cringe money.
