She did a drama course, I think you’ll find.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 30/03/2020 11:17

@DandyPenguin. I hope you are feeling better and any little thing anyone of us does gets you through this awful time Wink

LaMarschallin · 30/03/2020 11:21

SussexRoyalPenguin

I know a Burbank where the money trees grow.

Where voiceovers and the nodding fawnicators grow.

(Ad nauseum) my Duchess with a monetisation opportunity is in love.

Well, Hello magazine is likely to lose a substantial part of its circulation now that hairdressers have closed.

lizzie1970a · 30/03/2020 11:44

And they’re remaining the President and Vice-President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust ... while living in non-commonwealth La La land.
I mean it’s really quite farcical now. They have no shame.

I agree Dandy but I also think the Queen needs to do something about it. H&M are obviously going to keep anything given to them. The Queen needs to start taking things back like these patronages and titles.

lizzie1970a · 30/03/2020 11:47

I think patronages highlight what a farce so much to do with the RF is - an actress of no note given the patronage of the NT just because she has a loose connection to acting.

They were spoilt - the Commonwealth jobs highlight this. If they're not in the RF and in the US hustling they shouldn't have these patronages.

iVampire · 30/03/2020 11:51

I don’t think it would be right or fair to remove any patronages until the agreed review point

Wheresthebeach · 30/03/2020 11:57

I presume that they are suppose to carry out some sort of duties to keep the patronage’s? Which I don’t see them doing without wracking up a zillion air miles. Best to pull them now rather than wait for them to be, in effect, sacked for dereliction of duty.

I genuinely think that if they continue to cost us million, jet around the world, and be a general embarrassment that they will bring the whole concept of a RF into question. Best cut them lose before they do too much damage.

ajandjjmum · 30/03/2020 11:58

I agree with iVampire - it needs to be look at when it gets to the review point. But on the basis that they are not fulfilling their Commonwealth roles (because if they were doing anything, you can be damned sure we'd have all heard about it), these should be taken away from them.

Likewise the National Theatre post - HM was clearly being very lovely to Meghan, handing this over to her. To the NT supporters, I suspect it was a bit like being given Bet Lynch as Patron, so she really needs to prove she's worth having. And if not, off she should go.

lizzie1970a · 30/03/2020 12:00

I presume that they are suppose to carry out some sort of duties to keep the patronage’s?

But isn't that "half in, half out" - well, not 50/50 obviously but still in slightly but mostly out - 10/90 or whatever. Does the UK public want this? Was this the RF's intention to justify H&M still having taxpayers' security funding?

lizzie1970a · 30/03/2020 12:02

I suspect it was a bit like being given Bet Lynch as Patron Grin

YgritteSnow · 30/03/2020 12:08

I was on the first few threads with a different name and still lurk on here Smile. All that was predicted has happened, down to the last detail. I wonder now if the MM cheerleaders who shamed all those who said this would happen, can now admit that they didn't leave to have a simple life together raising a family?

Rather unedifying to be squabbling with Donald Trump about security too.

Wheresthebeach · 30/03/2020 12:17

One of the question, that we won’t ever get an answer to I suspect, is did they promise the Queen that they’d stay in a commonwealth country - or imply it. Is this private jet dash another slap in the face for the Queen?

If Barry was going to dash anywhere shouldn’t it be to his country in a time of crisis and his 70 year old father that has corvid? But that not our Barry...getting that house with a pool is vital work.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 30/03/2020 12:26

I am still baffled by their stupidity, and their arrogance at believing they could have every single thing they wanted.

I mean, I'm sure we've all done some stupid shit in our time, at least I have, but to act so hastily and never row back on it takes stubbornness to a new level.

Panic? or as was said about H on previous threads, foof-struck?

BelleharePenguin09 · 30/03/2020 12:31

I wonder now if the MM cheerleaders who shamed all those who said this would happen, can now admit that they didn't leave to have a simple life together raising a family?

Those people tried to shame others. They did not succeed. And now they have gone back into the woodwork. Pfft

Lordfrontpaw · 30/03/2020 12:33

I wonder if all the A-list c'lebs will be quite so smitten with them without the royal titles and potential invites for tea with the Queen/royal weddings? And the trying to weedle jobs on the basis of their fame?

CallmeAngelina · 30/03/2020 12:35

Nah, they're still over on the positive thread, eulogising about what a calming voice Meghan has and how she should produce a bedtime story app for young children.

Wheresthebeach · 30/03/2020 12:36

Good point @lordfrontpaw - invites may dry up if they are always making a nuisance of themselves.

BarleylemonPenguin · 30/03/2020 12:39

yolo - I am still baffled by their stupidity, and their arrogance at believing they could have every single thing they wanted

I feel the same. Why would anyone leave the royal family when you can pretty much organize your life as you want it? There are a few restrictions but nothing like the restrictions that ‘ordinary’ folk have to navigate in life. I can’t think of a single person who a) would think like this b) who would not take advice not to do it.

Froq · 30/03/2020 12:39

I can’t see anything changing on exit day.

They’ve been so determined to do things their own way and have already played down the whole being banned from having the word royal thing.

I think they’ll keep everything as it is, so instagram and website stay as Sussex Royal, but their companies and trademarks will be under Sussex Global or Baz & Meg or whatever.

That crown is going nowhere.

Lordfrontpaw · 30/03/2020 12:40

Well if the story about the voiceover is true (it already having been recorded by someone else and they were pushed aside for Megan) then - not knowing the industry - wouldn't a seasoned actor be very pissed off to be dumped for a celeb voiceover (who - to be honest - a lot of people wouldn't know who they heck they were if they hadn't married Harry)?

Wouldn't that cause them to be looked down on/resented/snubbed in acting circles?

5LeafPenguin · 30/03/2020 12:43

Hello all. Hope you are well.

I've always wondered what 'a spokesman said' actually means. So 'the security costs will be met privately' has been reported as fact but not who said it or to whom.

It's a known pr tool but does anyone know when you use it and why?

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 30/03/2020 12:50

According to the Guardian the operation to build more ventilators in the UK is called Operation Penguin.

Wheresthebeach · 30/03/2020 12:51

So Charles is fine and out of isolation! A bit of good news.

goldpartyhat · 30/03/2020 12:57

Find it very funny that Trump says the American taxpayers won't fund H&M. It's the only thing he's done I agree with.

They just want their cake and eat it.

I was really happy for then, initially. Thought they would, bring some diversity into the RF but all they've done is cause splits and problems. M only wants to be an A lister in Hollywood. Her only dream. She only cares about herself. Sorry but she's shown herself in her true colours now. Harry is just a smitten fool led by the nose.
