I suspect this was anticipated by HMQ and her advisers, hence the open door for them to return. It's getting a bit ridiculous now, flitting from place to place and expecting to be looked after at every turn. It's all rather undignified.

Why Trump would weigh in is anyone's guess. Good to know he's got plenty of time on his hands?

We don’t know that they expect the US to pay for their security. My guess is they expect Britain too.

Trump is getting criticised on twitter for tweeting that at a time so many people are dying of CV in the US - and rightly so (the criticism, not the deaths obviously).

There is literally no basis for the US to pay. British embassy- maybe.

It’s literally his only sensible tweet. Maybe it will start to dawn on them...naw...that’s a silly thought!

Imagine if they end up back here due to security costs....

It might have washed for a while in (Commonwealth) Canada, but this is America and they're supposed to be private citizens now ... so why on earth WOULD they pay??

True but given their vast sense of entitlement maybe he's just pre-empting an anticipated raid on American coffers. Either that or making sure his target voters are crystal clear on his stance.

I think it's the case that this is a 'current affair' he can get his head around. Wide ranging coverage on Entertainment Tonight - he can switch between that and Fox 'analysis.'
