Thankyou for the flowers all! No worries Janus. I can certainly be a bit of a cow myself (even when ill). So as imaginarysays settle in!!Grin

Winterlife · 28/03/2020 23:37

I read somewhere that H&M’s UK security can’t carry guns in the US, unless they are there on a state visit.

I don’t know if that’s accurate, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.

bluebell34567 · 28/03/2020 23:39

get well soon Catherine Flowers

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 28/03/2020 23:46

Why can’t W and K have a fourth child if they want to? Just because HaM say no? HaM have withdrawn from being royal so their offspring are of no future use to the family firm. So W and K should carry on producing if they want to!

Ilovellamasandpenguins · 28/03/2020 23:46

Get better soon Catherine💐

StartupRepair · 28/03/2020 23:48

Janus, expressing my deep irritation with H and M here is a safety valve for the fear and distress I feel about everything else.
There are some sharp, insightful, funny and kind posters here.

ButteryPuffin · 28/03/2020 23:50

@RosesandIris where have they now hinted about having another child? Tbh I hope they do for Archie's sake as he's going to have a lonely childhood otherwise, stuck a long way from almost all his family while mum and dad grift in Hollywood.

Dandy that clip is 🔥 and Sophie deserves every dammed tiara in the Queen's collection for her reaction.

bluebell34567 · 28/03/2020 23:51

i think MM will have second soon. i hope W and K will have one more.

DandyPenguin · 28/03/2020 23:53

Oh CatherineofAragonsPenguin ** so sorry you have the horrid covid too. Yes to it coming and going. Beak up. Message me if you want to complain about symptoms.

💐 Catherine. And, if you would like them, 🐟🐟🐟🐟 !!!

Hope you feel better soon and have a better day tomorrow.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 28/03/2020 23:56

As sentimental as this seems I would really love a W&K baby announcement right now. Something positive as pathetic as that probably sounds.

Guess I'll have to make do with B&C!

It hurts to laugh! Hilarious.

I may take you up on that kind offer @DandyPenguin thanks, so lovely!

DulciUke · 29/03/2020 00:02

Apologize for being somewhat snippy in my post Janus. Everyone, sick or not, is feeling pretty stressed out at the moment.

BelleharePenguin09 · 29/03/2020 00:06

Barry is a child. She will need to boss him about too.

DandyPenguin · 29/03/2020 00:15

@Janus

I'm never going to apologise for discussing and making fun of people who are vastly more privileged purely by nature of birth and marriage than most of the world will ever be.

I am bemused when people defend the honour of a white, upper class, hugely wealthy and connected, non-disabled man and his wife, especially when all the while these so-called victims are shunning the commitments they willingly took on whilst simultaneously capitalising on their names and royal titles and setting up shop in Hollywood to make money. Please.

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 29/03/2020 00:18

Speaking as one of two siblings, it isn't always a winning formula. It hasn't been for H&W. K&W were wise to have a third but I'm not sure a fourth is on the cards.

I could see H&M sticking at one. MM was to all intents and purposes an only child, it's what she knows.

ARoseInHarlem · 29/03/2020 00:32

I just came across this, looking up something else earlier. I don't know where to begin...

bluebell34567 · 29/03/2020 00:50

that video is just about me, me, me. she can be a very good sales person. i never seen anyone talk about themselves so much.

bluebell34567 · 29/03/2020 00:51

she tells how she affected such a big company. next she will tell she changed the world.

DandyPenguin · 29/03/2020 02:06

I've started watching that and am snorting at how she says her dad "encouraged me to write letters ..."

How'd that work out for you Meghan?

Alspenguin · 29/03/2020 02:14

Rose wasn't that supposed to be part of a school project?
Goodnight penguins sleep tight hope all poorly penguins feel better soon. I was going to offer fish emojis but thought about the connotations and decided againstBlushWink

DandyPenguin · 29/03/2020 02:30

Yes it was a school project, an 11 year old Meghan Markle is talking about it here on a tv show her class was on:

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 29/03/2020 08:36

I’ve just caught up. I fell asleep while watching the commonwealth service. I’ve a stomach bug Envy (not envy) & was just exhausted.

Catherine I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well Flowers. Wishing you & your sister the very best. Fibromyalgia is awful & I really feel for you.

Hope you are feeling better Dandy

That was a fantastic clip of Sophie & Meghan. Sophie definitely knows what Megs is about. I suspect they all do except for Harry. Love is blind etc!

Janus These threads are a diversion for many of us & keep us going through more difficult times.

BarleylemonPenguin · 29/03/2020 09:04

Janus - welcome to a great thread. Briefly (this is another soapbox topic for me... Grin) - Although it's functioning as an effective distractor in these, frankly, surreal times, it is also undoubtedly the case that 'gossip' about royalty serves an important, and serious, function in society. Discussions about them (the royals) that are shut down on the basis of their irrelevance, unimportance or 'tittle-tattleness' ("women's gossip") works in their favour, obscuring what is, effectively a kleptocracy. Our discussion here is trying to work out by how much we, the citizens (or, is that "subjects") benefit too from this structure, how inequality works, the variable value that is placed on people, who is worth saving and who isn't, how 'royal' work compares to 'normal work', gender-power relations, among other issues

PineappleDanish · 29/03/2020 09:36

Didn't see that clip before about Sophie but it really is very telling.

I have a lot of time for Sophie and Edward. I volunteered at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and they came to visit our venue with their children. We only knew because of the chatter on the security radio. One bodyguard for the four of them, they sat with ordinary members of the public, watched the action for about half an hour, then came "backstage" to say hello to some of the volunteers and competitors. No fanfare, no showbiz, they were so lovely and so friendly and the children were super polite and clearly loving being there.
